MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith-Chapter 1469: Myriad Prodigies: Second Round - Ataraxia (6)
"Hisss…!"
Feeling strands of energy wrap around its body all of a sudden, the serpent felt a hint of fear from the current situation as it proceeded to use one of its movement skills.
Whoosh!
Overlaying on top of it a skill that temporarily boosted its agility, the serpent was able to escape the sensation that was trying to envelop it earlier, the fear it felt from the sensation still lingering within it.
Looking around the platform to see where the feeling came from, the serpent's gaze eventually landed on Valyr, whose aura had reached a level that made it feel like proceeding to the second stage in advance.
However, with its capabilities not being pushed to that extent yet, it continued to remain on the first stage, faintly wondering to itself whether the sensation that tried to wrap around it earlier was something the young man could only once.
"…Bind."
In response, the young man uttered the same command, this time imbuing with far more might than ever before as strands of iridescent energy began to wrap around the serpent at far greater speed.
"Hisss…!!!" Feeling the fear within it amplify the moment the strands appeared, the serpent went ahead and used its movement skill once more, getting the feeling that it wouldn't be able to escape the moment it let the energy wrap around it.
Swoosh!
Under the fear of being pinned and bombarded with incessant attacks, the serpent eventually pushed itself to the second stage, allowing its speed to reach a new tier as the strands of iridescent energy began to lag behind it.
"…Vanguards." Unperturbed by the attempt at binding having failed, the young man swept his gaze across the entire group, allowing him to get a rough idea of who could achieve what at their current positions.
Thinking that it would be in the best interest of everyone for him to push the beast as far as possible, Valyr went ahead and ordered those that were assigned to be vanguards to hinder the serpent's movements as much as possible.
"DPS! Support! With me!"
At the same time, he commanded those that were bombarding the serpent with attacks earlier to attack at the same time as him, his spells being the signal that everyone else relied on.
"[Orb of Apyrhan]!"
Without Pasuay nor Coulet interrupting him a second time, Valyr was finally able to conjure one of his stronger attacks, flinging the massive orb of flames at a trajectory that would land directly at the serpent.
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!
Concurrently, those with the DPS role began to fire every attack they had under their belt, surrounding the massive orb with attacks as if it were their leader.
"Haah!" Eventually, those on the side of the duo began to cooperate with Valyr as well, sending out their own attacks as the support stacked as much debuffs on the beast as possible.
"Hisss!!!"
Though it was infuriated at the fact that its strength had only slightly improved after reaching the second stage of strength, the serpent knew better than to get surrounded by attacks.
With that, it tried to nullify some of the might behind the group's offensive with a barrage of bolts, only to then send wave after wave of sonic attacks at the participants as it hissed loudly.
"[Mana Barrier]!"
Pushing one of his defensive skills to its limits, Valyr made use of his increased might to expand the scope of his barrier, allowing over three-fourths of the group to escape the might of the serpent's sonic attacks.
As for those that were unlucky to get hit by it, almost all of them immediately bled from the ears as their attacks dissipated, causing the danger of the group's offensive to go down by a few notches.
Nevertheless, the serpent was still satisfied with what it had achieved, especially since the bombardment now felt more possible to defend against.
Though, with the current situation making it fall into a false sense of security…

The serpent had finally fallen to Valyr's trap.
Whoosh!
Trying his hand at a gamble one last time, the young man immediately felt a sense of relief wash over him the moment he felt the consumption of Mystic Energy significantly increase.
"Hiss! Hiss… hiss!!!"
Seeing that the iridescent energy it had escaped from earlier now wrapped tightly around its torso, the serpent felt further fury as it glanced at the bombardment coming for it.
Whoosh!
Awakening part of its connection to the world, the serpent officially stepped onto the third stage as it used its increased might to break away from the bindings pinning it to the ground.
However, rather than loosen up under its movements, the strands only tightened even further the more the serpent moved, causing the fury it felt earlier to change back to the fear it felt from the strands in the first place.
"Hisss…." Ignoring the volley of attacks that it was receiving on both sides, the serpent looked at the culprit behind its current situation before pushing its connection with the world one step further.
Swoosh!
'The Intent of Roaring Tempests,' thought Valyr to himself, ordering those that had weaker defenses to distance themselves from the serpent's torso.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
Within seconds of the serpent stepping onto the fourth stage, a cascade of tempests began to form around it, turning into a natural barrier of sorts that prevented any of the participants from continuing to attack.
Though, with the support of others and the defense skills under their belts, some of the vanguards still remained near the serpent, which only made the latter's fear turn into dread the moment the bombardment finally landed.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Boom!
With the massive orb of flames leading the bombardment, the serpent was immediately covered in various attacks of various properties, causing it to hiss out in pain as its scales were forcefully broken in some areas.
For a few seconds, the serpent couldn't be seen by anyone as it was covered from head to toe in the attacks the participants had rained down on it.
"Hiss…"
By the time the attacks stopped, the serpent looked as if it had been beaten to an inch of its life, even though the amount of damage it received actually only amounted to the hundreds at most.
"Hiss…"
Taking a bit of time to grasp its current surroundings once more, the serpent eventually looked at Valyr once more, the fury it had towards the young man the highest it had ever been.
After all, if it weren't for the bindings that pinned it to where it was, it was certain that it would be able to make them surrender even before it used its Intent.
Yet, with reality going the exact opposite of what it expected, the serpent thought it should at least make Valyr feel a bit of regret from his actions.
And so, it fully opened its connection to the world, pushing it to the fifth and final stage of strength it could tap into.
"Hisssssss!!!!"
Feeling wave after wave of energy course throughout its body the moment it activated its Force, the serpent decided to try its hand at breaking the bindings on its torso one last time.
Rip!
Surprisingly, the slight movement of its body was more than enough to break those strands, prompting the serpent to understand that there was a limit to how much force the strands could withstand.
Though the limit was far higher than it expected to be from a human that was lower-ranked than it, it was still glad that it was finally free, especially now that it could enact revenge on the young man.
"Hiss…" Condensing both mana and the energy from the Force towards the tip of its tail, the serpent swept its gaze over the participants with a slightly smug expression, taking note that everyone looked at the mass of energy on its tail with dread on their faces.
However, when its gaze landed on the intended target of its attack, it was slightly taken aback when it noticed that the young man wasn't affected by the attack at all.
If anything…
He was preparing a powerful attack of his own.
