Chapter 1542: Meeting the Administrators Again (2)

Briefly checking the notification they simultaneously received from the system, Valyr and Ataraxia looked at each other for a bit before looking back at the two Administrators in front of them.

Getting the feeling that the two wanted them to explain more about the changes to the skills they gave them, Eve scratched the back of her head for a bit as she told them, "I’m sure the two of you know fully well that [Soul Split] is the skill that allows the two of you to be separated in a semi-permanent state."

The two nodded at those words.

"With that in mind, [Soul Summoning] could be considered the opposite of that skill," the woman continued. "Through the skill, the two of you gain the ability to summon the other person to where you are... provided that they’re within the range of the skill, that is."

Hearing her explanations, both Valyr and Ataraxia’s eyes quickly lit up as they immediately came up with a lot of ways to use such a skill to their advantage.

But of course, with great advantages came caveats to the usage of the skill... which they would now try to find out from the creator of the skill herself.

"Is the range limit of the summoning fixed?" asked Valyr. "Or can it be increased?"

"It increases the higher your class rank," Eve clarified, only to then give them a knowing smile soon after. "And before you ask... yes. The summon is near-instantaneous."

"Good to hear." Valyr slightly grinned at those words. "I know the skill won’t work if I use it while Ataraxia is on Earth, but are there any restrictions to the location of the summoning?"

"Would I be able to summon Ataraxia while I’m in... let’s say... a secluded spatial realm?"

"You would." Eve nodded, causing the excitement of the two towards the skill to increase even further. "The only thing that would probably hinder the summoning is if one of you ends up in a Primordial’s trichiliocosm..."

"But that still won’t stop you from summoning the other person to where you are. It would only delay the summoning to around a minute or so at most."

"My turn." Seeing that Eve had set the tone of how they should go about changing the skills they gave to the two at the start, Adam took it upon himself to change what he considered was the most important skill for them.

Whoosh!

Sending strand after strand of energy directly into the duo’s minds, the man went ahead and overwrote the information the two had regarding [Soul Fusion], eventually changing it into a skill that caused both Valyr and Ataraxia to look at him with intense curiosity.

Ding!

[Your skill ’Soul Fusion’ has been modified into the skill ’Soul Unification’.]

Confirming that the modification was successful, the man looked at the two with a faint smile as he told them, "[Soul Unification] is just [Soul Fusion], but better."

"For one, there’s no limit to the duration of the skill anymore. It now depends on how much energy you plan to spend keeping the skill up every second."

"Of course, the reason why I say this is because you can now choose how much of the other side’s stats you inherit while the skill is active," continued the man, causing the two to look at him with stars in their eyes.

"Not only that, but you two also gain the ability to increase the skill’s effects even further if you ever choose to inherit 100% of the other side’s stats." At these words, Adam gave them a mysterious grin. "I’ll let you two check that out for yourselves."

"Now you’re just showing off," said Eve in response, which prompted Adam to let out a peal of laughter.

Feeling as if she was being mocked at by the man’s laughter, the woman’s expression turned solemn as she modified the only skill they gave them that had yet to be modified.

Whoosh!

Of course, with the two of them having who would take charge of what skill far before the current scenario became a reality, Adam went ahead and gave her all of the leeway she needed to focus, allowing the final modification process to proceed smoothly.

Ding!

[Your skill ’Soul Shift’ has been modified into the skill ’Soul Entanglement’.]

"That... is the skill that will serve as the basis of your connection after being separated," said Eve, taking a bit of time to recover the energy she lost. "With the skill, you’re able to sense each other’s locations, send each other messages, and share each other’s senses at any time."

"Pretty much what we’ve been doing so far, then," replied Ataraxia, to which Valyr nodded in agreement. "However, say I’m on Earth and Valyr’s still here. Would the skill still be active?"

"Yes, actually." Eve nodded, only to bitterly smile after that. "Then again... I wouldn’t recommend using the skill in that scenario."

"Why?"

"The time ratio between Veldanyr and Earth," she said, which allowed the two to quickly understand why that was the case.

After all, if one were experiencing time seven times faster than the other, wouldn’t there be a mismatch in the information that would be shared between them?

However, just as they began to think that this was a rule of the skill that they couldn’t break, Eve went ahead and dropped a statement that immediately told them otherwise.

"Of course, it’s only a problem at your current ranks," she said to them. "Once you break through the shackles of mortality and become Myth-level beings, even a time ratio like that wouldn’t be an issue."

"Much less if you two became Divine-level beings," she continued. "In fact, that’s actually how some beings achieve artificial enlightenment. They usually chuck a clone or an avatar of themselves into a temporal realm with a massive time difference to achieve that effect."

"I see," said the two in response, nodding in understanding.

"Now then." Seeing the two being so cooperative with them, both Adam and Eve could not help but look at each other for a bit before nodding soon after.

Shifting their attention back at the two after that, the two Administrators looked at them for a bit before Eve told them, "With [Soul Entanglement] pretty much established, we can now proceed separating the two of you back into your original identities."

"Of course, with the laws of time paradox still in place, it wouldn’t literally be your original identities. However, we’ll still make sure to get as close to it as possible without having your existences break again."

"But before that, remember how we told you earlier that we had something special to show you two?" ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom

As those words left Eve’s mouth, Adam went ahead and used a bit of energy to summon two identical boxes in front of the two, both of which gave off an aura that made Valyr and Ataraxia feel like they’d greatly benefit from choosing either of them.

"That something special is a reward, actually," clarified Adam. "A reward for listening to us and having both of your levels match."

"Now, generally speaking, the two boxes contain the same set of rewards," said Eve to the two after that. "If anything, the only difference between them is what part of the reward is more prominent."

"And with all of that said... what will the two of you choose?"
