Modern World Warlock-Chapter 351: Communication Restore
After Netherius quickly left the district where he had been fighting Dante and Asphodel, he materialized in the garden of his estate, which was utterly covered in death ichor.
Shaking off some of the dust from his jacket, the necromancer hastily entered his home and began looking around as if searching for someone.
"Welcome back, Master…" One of the undead servants greeted him with a polite bow.
Netherius didn't reply and made his way to the living room, where Camille sat on the couch as if nothing had happened.
"Where is Vesnia?" Netherius asked, his tone and expression showing a hint of fury.
"Who?" Camille replied with a question.
Even though Vesnia had left the mansion a few minutes prior to the necromancer's arrival, there was no reason for the handler to reveal that.
While Netherius was very perceptive, he lacked the warlock's abilities to see when a person was lying, and Camille was the handler of one of the most secretive mafia organizations in the world—lying was second nature to her.
Believing that Camille was genuinely out of the loop, Netherius turned to the undead retainers that had been serving her and repeated his question.
"Where is Vesnia?" His voice became more profound.
"We haven't seen her around, Master…" The undead replied in unison while politely bowing to him.
Camille's eyes widened a little when she heard the servants lying to Netherius.
They had seen Vesnia inside the house talking with Camille. While the handler asked the servants to keep the meeting a secret, she didn't expect them to follow her instructions, considering Netherius was their true master.
As the necromancer gritted his teeth with anger, he glanced at Camille one last time before leaving the mansion, determined to find his lost Death Knight.
Right after Netherius left, Camille let out a sigh of relief and sat back down on the couch, reclining her neck and glancing at the undead servants.
"Thank you, guys…" The handler said, prompting the retainers to bow to her with stoic expressions.
"But why did you do that? Isn't he, like, your creator?" Camille asked.
The female servant explained that their orders were to follow all of Camille's commands, and since she had asked them to lie, they were technically still following their Master's orders.
"Still, I didn't know you'd go as far as to lie to him for me…" Camille continued.
"We… We didn't know either, Miss…" The male servant commented.
The handler dropped her head to the side, confused, not fully comprehending what they meant. Even so, she was Camille Winter, and anyone who lent her a hand would receive two in return.

Meanwhile, running through the corrupted streets, Vesnia's body was shrouded in a strange, black mist, which she used to hide her presence from Netherius.
Since the Death Knight was deep inside the necropolis, if she lost her focus and revealed herself for half a second, Netherius would instantly pinpoint her location and teleport to her.
When the woman reached a high-rise building, she began sprinting along the wall upwards until she reached the rooftop, where a massive, squared device with antennas and satellite receivers was placed.
"This is it…" Vesnia muttered to herself.
Grabbing one of her blades tightly, the black mist covered her weapon as she plunged it into the device, generating a blast of energy that utterly destroyed the jammer.
Right at that moment, Trinity was able to connect with every single member of the mafia alliance wearing their earpiece.
It was as if a minute of clarity had landed upon all of them as Trinity gave a brief summary.
"The NSS betrayed us and gave Camille to Netherius…"
"Camille was taken to his mansion…"
"Vesnia destroyed the jammer, so they are probably going for her…"
The hacker didn't stop speaking for a whole minute, giving the listeners the different addresses and locations she mentioned.
Some of the mafia members were already aware of some of the events, but the most important ones who needed to receive it were Sami and Lexia, who had been leading the androids around the necropolis while destroying any necrotic core they found.
When Sami received the news that Camille had been taken, her expression turned into a furious frown, prompting her to turn around and look at her partner, Lexia.
"We are going…" Lexia said to the Hell-Cyborg with determination.
"Androids, prepare for battle!" Sami shouted, using the boosters that extruded from her legs to fly and face the direction where Netherius' mansion was located.
As the androids began making their way to save Camille, a small group from the mafia were running along the corrupted streets and witnessed the explosion at the top of the high-rise building.
Zac, Megan, and Alice, who had gone back inside the necropolis to help Dante, ended up finding Vesnia first while she was destroying the jammer.
Considering they started receiving all of Trinity's messages right after the explosion, they concluded that it was the jammer that had been blown up.
However, when a second explosion appeared, the three of them saw a figure being flung to the opposite building.
"Let's move, quick!" Megan said, rushing to the building where the crash happened.
As they used the broken pieces of debris to climb to the hole, they could hear the voice of the necromancer inside.
"Tell me how!? How did you regain your memories? You stupid girl!" Netherius shouted, utterly lost in anger.
Megan entered the room first and found Netherius holding Vesnia by the neck, suspended from the ground as the Death Knight tried wiggling her way out of his grip.
Her face was covered in blood from the beating and questioning, and when Vesnia glanced at Megan's face, who looked exactly like the woman who saved her when she was a mere sick child, the Death Knight let out a serene smile.
"Stop…" Megan muttered.
The overwhelming energy that came from the necromancer was enough to make her body shiver in fear, but the brunette couldn't simply watch as they killed the person who helped them.
"This matter isn't your concern… I'm not in the mood to play with you people," Netherius said with a fierce gaze, and even though he was almost whispering, his words were ingrained into everyone's mind.
