AKU MOONCHESTER really thought he was going to die by the hands of the immature Moon Serpent.

"Haaah," Aku let out a frustrated sigh as he plopped down on the throne. "Just what the hell happened while I was away?"

Yes, he was back in the Royal Capital, but he came home to an empty palace.

He could tell that a powerful ancient spell had been summoned there– killing most people in the palace as a result.

And, apparently, Stella was Elaine’s reincarnation.

Aku fell silent, his brain stopped thinking for a moment.

And then it finally hit him.

He realized that it was not the empty that palace that was making him feel hollow right now.

"Nia is gone," Aku whispered, his voice void of emotions. Even without seeing his reflection, he could tell that his eyes looked dead at the moment. "But the fact that I’m still alive only means the Supreme lifted the curse that she put upon Nia in the past."

That also meant Nia might be gone for good.

He grabbed the armrests of the throne, breaking them in the process.

"No, I won’t accept that," Aku said, growling lowly. "I’ll bring back Nia at all costs." ƒгeewёbnovel.com

"And how do you plan to do that?"

He raised his head and met Kyro’s gaze.

The Moon God was already back in his human form. Obviously, the body that he was currently using was nothing but a temporary shell.

[He has yet to succeed creating a perfect human body that can contain his soul.]

"You betrayed me," Aku growled at the Moon God. "How dare you try and possess my body?"

"I was desperate," Kyro said, unapologetically. "But you can’t afford to make an enemy out of me right now, Aku Moonchester. So, let go of your resentment and work with me again."

He really didn’t want to, but what could he do?

[Now that I’m exposed as a demon, the gods will now hunt me down for real.]

"In the past, I tricked the Sky God into believing that the Moon Serpent is the Devil incarnate," Aku Moonchester said, reminscing the past when he was still the nameless last moon. "Back then, the Sky God already suspected that there’s something evil in the little moons that you created, Lord Kyro."

The Moon God nodded. "I know. That was why I deliberately made the little moon fight each other so that the Sky God and the other gods would get distracted. It was a shame that my creations perished early because the gods summoned the Moon Serpent."

"Later, the Moon Serpent realized that me and the demons that he had swallowed before were all demons."

[The Moon Serpent figured out the thing that the Sky God failed to realize.]

Anyway, this happened during the time when the Moon Serpent wasn’t born as the Supreme and the Black Serpent’s child yet.

"The Moon Serpent promised to let me go quietly as long as I lived as a decent person. That naïve beast," Aku continued, laughing. "When he did that, I went to the Sky God and tricked him into thinking that the Devil’s soul had taken over the Moon Serpent."

It was plausible because after the Moon Serpent devoured the little moons, the little moons’ demonic power was absorbed by the Moon Serpent.

But it was already too late by the time the demonic power disappeared from the Moon Serpent’s body.

The Sky God had already fallen for the lies of Aku, the last moon.

Since the gods were naturally afraid of the demons, especially the Devil, the Sky God’s judgment back then had been clouded by fear.

Aku laughed when he remembered the past. "The Sky God gave me my human body as a Moonchester in order to kill the Moon Serpent. He even gave me a blessing that made me invincible just because he was so scared that the Devil had really been freed from Hell. By the time the Sky God realized that he had been tricked, it was already too late. Thanks to his blessing, not even his divine power can kill the Moonchesters."

Of course, his body as a Moonchester was also blessed by Kyro.

"My memories were manipulated," Aku admitted. "Even Nia had forgotten what the Supreme looked like in the past. Hence, since the Supreme’s power was sealed in this timeline, we belatedly realized her true identity."

"Even so, you knew that Tilly Prescott’s child is the child in the prophecy."

"My personal feelings got the better of me," he admitted in a whisper. "I remember the Moon Serpent that set me free. That was probably why I hesitated. And since I got along with my brother in the beginning, I thought I could raise the Moon Serpent as my family so he would forget about killing me."

"But your plans were ruined when Soleil Rosenberg and my son retrieved their past memories," Kyro said, clicking his tongue. "You foolish child."

"Shut up," Aku said, scoffing. "I don’t want to hear that from a person who sold his everything to the Devil just because he hated the human race with a passion."

The Moon God just laughed.

Aku stood up. "Anyway, I need to go to the Plane first."

"What will you do there?"

"I’ll look for Nia’s soul."

Kyro knitted his eyebrows. "Are you crazy? The Supreme cursed Nia Moonchester. She’ll never get reincarnated again."

"I know that, but I still have to make sure," Aku said firmly. "If I can’t find Nia’s soul on the Plane, then I’ll just destroy it."

"MOMMY, Daddy, Julian, can you stop me when I start to turn into a Moon Serpent again? Please?"

Tilly was surprised by what Winter said because her baby looked scared.

Kiho and Julian had the same expression, too.

"Winter, first of all, we also don’t want you to turn into a Moon Serpent because you’re still too young for that. Hence, we agreed with your decision," Tilly said, but she wasn’t done talking yet. "However, may we know why you’re suddenly scared of turning into the Moon Serpent?"

"I almost killed Aku Moonchester when I lost my mind of a moment," Winter confessed, on the verge of crying. "I forgot that Daddy will die if Aku Moonchester dies."

Tilly’s entire body suddenly turned cold.
