Mommy Wolf: Raise A Cub, Claimed By His Beast Daddy-Chapter 15: I Am The Beast!
"If you dare to kill me, then you’ll be wanted by the authorities! A woman with no family like you, if you get captured, you’ll be executed immediately!" Mr. Piker added, trying desperately to increase the value of his own life. As long as he survived tonight, getting revenge on this witch and her annoying wolf cub wouldn’t be difficult.
He looked at his house, now utterly destroyed, and gritted his teeth even harder.
He had spent decades married to a sickly woman who couldn’t bear him a child, all for her inheritance. He had painstakingly taken care of the farm and made himself wealthy enough to live comfortably.
He, who grew up in poverty, had sacrificed his freedom and desires to obtain those riches. And now everything has been destroyed. If he didn’t take revenge on Sisi, he would never rest!
He quickly imagined countless ways to kill her. Since she had freakish powers, maybe he had to use poison, hire assassins, or expose her abilities and the rare wolf beastman to the world. The king and his soldiers would certainly want to capture them for experiments.
He even wanted to toss her into a brothel. Since she refused him, then let her be violated by hundreds of men until she was nothing but a mangled corpse!
Unfortunately, his words did affect Sisi.
She didn’t care much about her own life. She had grown up in an orphanage and on this farm, with no parents in either place.
She’d always been alone, and if execution meant freedom from Mr. Piker’s torment without having her body defiled, then so be it.
But she cared about Jojo.
If they were captured by the king and his soldiers, they would immediately notice Jojo’s worth. The king would surely want to skin the cub for his one-of-a-kind fur.
Jojo’s fate would be tragic the moment another human discovered him.
’So, where should we go?’ Sisi asked herself.
She couldn’t go to the nearest town. No, she couldn’t go anywhere near humans at all. Jojo was far too eye-catching.
She also couldn’t stay on the farm. Once the workers saw the destruction she caused, she and Jojo would be captured.
Besides, even if she had a strange power now, she doubted she could fight against the king and the soldiers all alone.
Thus, Sisi slowly turned her head toward the edge of the forest. Roc Forest was unfit for humans—vast, with treacherous terrain, filled with dangerous animals, beastmen, and mythical creatures like faeries and witches.
Ever since she was in the orphanage, the children had traded stories about the terrifying beings dwelling in Roc Forest. Gradually, everyone learned to fear entering it.
Some seasoned hunters could venture deep inside, but many of them had disappeared without a trace.
Roc Forest was the place all humans avoided for their own safety, making it the perfect place for those desperate enough to flee, even if it endangered their lives.
Sisi stared at the forest for a long time, and Mr. Piker mistook her silence for fear.
Thus, he shouted again, agitatedly,
"That’s right, witch! Now release me before I tell the soldiers what you’ve done! If you admit your mistake and beg for my forgiveness, I might consider letting you off!"
Jojo saw the hesitation in his savior’s eyes. He gritted his teeth, then suddenly leapt from her arms.
"Jojo, where are you—" Sisi reached out, but too late.
Jojo dashed straight toward Mr. Piker and, without hesitation, lunged and sank his teeth into the man’s neck.
"Aaarrghh! Get him off! Get him off!" Mr. Piker screamed as the little wolf’s teeth tore into his skin.
Jojo’s fangs weren’t large or sharp enough to rip the neck clean open, but what he did was even worse.
His small fangs savagely tore through flesh layer by layer until blood gushed from Mr. Piker’s throat, it was a slow torture that would lead to certain death.
"Urk... urgh..."
Slowly but surely, Mr. Piker’s screams faded. His struggles weakened. And eventually, he died from blood loss, his neck spurting blood violently until the end.
Jojo finally released his grip once he sensed his prey was dead. The little wolf stared at the fat, evil man with the same hatred Sisi had earlier.
"She is not a beast—but I am!" Jojo declared boldly. "If she cannot kill, then Jojo will kill!"
After venting his pent-up fury, he turned and walked back to his savior.
Still in his wolf cub form, he looked up at her with tear-filled, apologetic eyes... but with a blood-smeared mouth that proved his savagery.
Jojo had no idea what his savior thought of him now. He feared she would be angry. After all, she didn’t want to kill the evil fat man.
But Jojo had been so angry.
That evil fat man insulted his savior, yelled at her, threatened her. And what angered him most was realizing that his savior actually wanted to release their enemy.
"Umm... m-my Daddy said to never pity your enemy or your prey," Jojo said meekly. "D-don’t blame Jojo. H-he was the evil fat man, not me!"
Even though he felt guilty, he didn’t apologize. He firmly believed, even at his young age, that he wasn’t wrong to kill his enemy.
Sisi was stunned. After a moment, she sighed and picked Jojo up.
She took a handkerchief from her pocket and wiped the blood from his mouth. "It’s fine, Jojo. I know you were trying to protect me. I don’t blame you."
"Really?" Jojo’s ears perked up. His dark-blue eyes lit up with joy.
"Really. Your Daddy is right. You shouldn’t show mercy to your enemy or your prey..." Sisi said, glancing at Mr. Piker’s corpse, her gaze went cold instantly. "After all, there’s no guarantee they would show mercy to you."
