Mommy Wolf: Raise A Cub, Claimed By His Beast Daddy-Chapter 200: Golden Line
They had a long hug until Grandma Tree decided it was enough and slowly let go of its dearest granddaughter.
Sisi took a few steps back and looked up at the tree. "I’ll see you again, Grandma, in real life this time, not just in a dream."
Oh, my dearest granddaughter, you really know when to say the right words... just like your father...
Sisi raised her brow. She was curious about her father as well, but she had no time because she felt that her body was sucked through a long wormhole, and she opened her eyes when she heard Jojo’s voice.
"Sisi? Sisi, are you there?"
Sisi turned her head toward Jojo and saw the boy already sitting on the bed while shaking her shoulder.
"Sisi, I think it’s already morning, and I want to pee..."
Sisi glanced at the window and found that she had slept so well until dawn, which was actually very rare for her.
She chuckled and carried Jojo to the bathroom, helping him during his bathroom break, then sat him on the chair as she opened the door after hearing a few knocks from Diane.
"Mistress, I’m here with breakfast for you and the Crown Prince," Diane said while carrying a tray.
"Come in," Sisi said as she returned to Jojo’s side. "Do tell the King to come here after the morning court and bring Jojo with him for a few nights, alright?"
Jojo reacted rather wildly. He hugged Sisi’s arms as if they were his lifeline and asked, "S-Sisi, where are you going? Y-you can’t leave, got it?"
"Pfft—" Sisi snorted while looking at the boy. "What are you talking about, Jojo? Do you not remember that it is your time to sleep with your Daddy based on the schedule that we made? You can’t always stay in here, because your Daddy will get lonely without you."
Jojo pouted. "But I’m scared that Daddy will rage again, Sisi..."
"He won’t. Trust him this time, alright?" Sisi assured. "Besides, your Daddy felt really guilty about everything that happened. Wouldn’t you want him to feel better?"
Jojo was still sulking, but Sisi’s persuasion always worked on him. So the boy slowly nodded and released Sisi’s arm.
"But you must promise me not to leave, Sisi..."
"Silly, I will never, ever leave you," Sisi assured.
Yes, she wouldn’t leave Jojo. She would only return to the faerie land under her own circumstances and make sure that Jojo wouldn’t feel like he was being abandoned.
Thus, Sisi and Jojo ate breakfast as usual, accompanied by the three little faeries who suckled nectar from the flowers they were sleeping on last night.
The faeries said nothing as they perched on Sisi’s shoulders like a bunch of good kids, patiently waiting for their mother to give them an order.
Kael finally came to the Queen’s courtyard after he was done with the morning court.
"Oh? What’s wrong with you, Jojo? Why are you sulking?" Kael teased as he carried his son. He knew that his son preferred to stay by Sisi’s side.
But he felt that Jojo still needed to live inside a cave more often since he was a wolf, not a human. On top of that, Kael also missed hugging his son to sleep. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
"Daddy, why don’t you sleep with us in here instead? Sisi will sleep on the left, me in the middle, and you on the right!"
"That’s only possible if your Sisi and I are married, boy," Kael said. "Otherwise, that’s not proper, and Sisi will not like it."
"Then, why don’t you marry Sisi, Daddy?"
"Well, that depends on what Sisi thinks about me," Kael said as he slowly shifted his gaze toward Sisi, who was smiling back at him. "I wonder if she’ll eventually open up to me."
"Alright, you two, stop trying to persuade me. I have my own decision at heart," Sisi said. "Now go. I’ll have to take a bath first."
Kael chuckled as he carried Jojo out of the main chamber.
In Kael’s eyes, there was nothing wrong, but that was because he couldn’t see the faeries who were all hovering right in front of Sisi.
They looked so scared having to face the Dusk Star of this era, but they still tried their best to look strong, because their darling’s safety was their priority.
They could only take a relieved breath once Kael was out of the room.
The trio of faeries hugged each other as they rested on the table.
"Oh, that was so scary!"
"He looks like he can eat us!"
"His eyes are so scary. He’s like the story of the crimson-eyed demon my Grandpa told me before!"
Sisi was amused by these faeries. Their reaction when meeting Kael, even if the latter couldn’t see them at all, was intriguing.
It showed that the faeries were naturally brave and loyal to their darling despite their small sizes. Though, Sisi wouldn’t count on them to protect her.
"What do you think of him, faeries?" Sisi asked.
"Scary!"
"Oh, his eyes are so intimidating. The elders told us about the crimson-eyed demon when we were kids, but he looks scarier in real life!"
"Darling, are you sure that’s Jojo’s Daddy? How come they feel... different?" Crush Tutu asked.
"Different? But they are the Dusk and Dawn Stars of this era."
"Mmm, they are indeed the cursed beings. But I cannot see, uhm... how do you say it... a blood bond?" Crush Tutu tilted her head as she was trying hard to find the correct term. "Oh, I mean, they don’t seem related!"
"And how do you know that?"
"Because usually faeries can see a long golden line between a child and their parents until they turn five, and I cannot see the bond between them," Crush Tutu turned toward her friends, and Jan Keke and Bold Dodo also nodded. "Which means Jojo is not actually his son!"
Sisi’s brows creased. "But don’t you see how much he cares for Jojo?"
"Of course!" Jan Keke exclaimed. "But this golden line is only for parents and children with blood ties, darling!"
