Elder Toto started the discussion by clearing his throat and said, "I am guessing that everyone in here must’ve read the message from Grandma Tree just now. Our darling has been found, and the ones who found her are my granddaughter and her companions."

"But Grandma Tree also said that our darling has a request before she returns home and instructed us to send a few elders to go north and meet her in the Beast Kingdom."

"I’ve read everything, Elder Toto," General Gugu said. "But I never knew about a kingdom called the Beast Kingdom. Is that a new one?"

"Could be," Healer Roro nodded. "But how come we don’t have any intel about it? I thought the faeries in that area would have stories to tell when they report back to us."

"Ah, don’t you remember, Lady Roro? Many of the faeries living in the north have been evacuating back to faerie land or somewhere nearby because they are scared of what’s happening there," Seamstress Qiqi, who was the head of intel in the faerie land, said. "I heard it’s because there is too much bloodshed in the northern area, caused by the awakened Dusk Star."

"Dusk Star?!"

Everyone reacted the same—with their eyes wide open and their wings twitching as if they were ready to fly away.

They were the elders and had lived longer than most of the faeries here. They had also gone out of the faerie land many times in their youth, so they knew about the curse of the Dusk and Dawn Stars.

They were a pair of cursed beings who carried the negative energy of Roc Forest since birth.

The Dusk Star would bring terror to the land, and his son, the Dawn Star, would raze the land until there was nothing but devastation, and it would take decades for the faeries to rebuild Roc Forest until these cursed beings and their history were forgotten in the next generation.

"It could be," Seamstress Qiqi shrugged. "We have no idea about this Beast Kingdom, but since our darling is inside that kingdom, she might be... imprisoned."

There was a sound of gasps among the elders. They were even more worried about their darling’s safety and also the three young faeries who found her.

"We have to save her, Elder!" General Gugu said determinedly. "The fate of the faeries lies in the hands of our darling. We cannot let her be imprisoned any longer!"

"Maybe her request is about saving her and the three faeries from the clutches of the evil Dusk Star!" Gardener Gigi added.

"Then we have to make it quick. Elder Toto, as our leader, you need to dispatch a few elders along the way, but you cannot send us all, because we still have to take care of the faeries here," Carpenter Popo, who had been quiet all this time, finally suggested.

Elder Toto observed the elders in front of him.

There were six elders of the faerie land:

Scholar Toto, the oldest and the most knowledgeable, tasked as temporary leader until their darling returned, and also managing any rites or events inside the faerie land.

General Gugu, the strongest faerie, who commanded the soldiers to fight back insects and other predators.

Healer Roro, the one who taught and oversaw the treatment of injured faeries.

Carpenter Popo, the builder who made sure the infrastructure in faerie land was well maintained. He also supplied the materials needed for the infrastructure and other items.

Gardener Gigi, the one who took care of the ancient tree and oversaw the plant growth done by the faeries throughout the changing seasons.

Lastly, Seamstress Qiqi, who managed the information sharing between the faeries of each area in Roc Forest and also led the garment-making for the faeries in each season.

Elder Toto knew he was too old for a long trip to the north. Gardener Gigi and Seamstress Qiqi were required to maintain their functions in the faerie land.

He also couldn’t send Carpenter Popo out, because the last winter was very harsh and much of the infrastructure in the faerie land was damaged. If left without repairs, the damage might spread.

So he was left with only two options.

"Healer Roro and General Gugu, the two of you will head to the north with two dozen faerie soldiers and medics. Our darling and the young faeries might be hurt inside the Beast Kingdom, and we also need soldiers to hold off the Dusk Star and give our darling a chance to escape, even if that might cost our lives."

Healer Roro and General Gugu nodded without hesitation. All the faeries saw the ancient tree as their Grandmother and their darling as their mother. So they were more than ready to sacrifice themselves as long as Grandma Tree and their darling survived.

"You two will set out as soon as possible. Healer Roro, prepare at least four medics with you. General Gugu, prepare at least twenty soldiers. Everyone else, disperse and continue with your work. We have a lot to do to prepare for our darling’s return."

"Understood, Elder!"

After all the elders left the court, Elder Toto was left alone. He was thinking of his darling and also his granddaughter. "Stay safe, darling. Tutu, help will come soon."

Once General Gugu got the information that Crush Tutu and her companions went to the north, it wasn’t difficult for them to track their path.

They had been wrong to search for her and their darling in the south and east, thinking their darling would love a warmer climate because she was half-human.

But if she had been kidnapped all this time, it made sense that she ended up inside a new kingdom, being tied by the Dusk Star of this era.

"Comrades, we will set out on our journey to the north to find our darling and bring her back!"

"For our darling!" the soldiers and medics chanted.

General Gugu led the way as he flew out of the faerie land first, followed by his soldiers and the medics.
