Mommy Wolf: Raise A Cub, Claimed By His Beast Daddy-Chapter 203: A Cure For a Freedom (I)
Kael carried Jojo around the Queen’s courtyard as they were waiting for Sisi to be done with her bath and taking care of herself.
She was always busy taking care of Jojo, and in some situations, taking care of the Beast King too, so she deserved to have time for herself, even for an hour or two.
However, Jojo wasn’t as understanding as his father. He sulked when Sisi wasn’t by his side, and now that he was blind, he became even more possessive of Sisi. He was like a monkey who wanted to latch onto his mother every second.
"I know you don’t like spending time with me alone, but why don’t you fake it a little, boy?" Kael teased. "I’m still your Daddy, even if you have a Mommy now."
"I like you too, Daddy. But it’s really lonely without Sisi around. You are always quiet without her!" Jojo pointed out.
Kael sighed.
Well, his son wasn’t wrong.
He didn’t speak much when he wasn’t with Sisi. In fact, when there were only the two of them, they also barely talked to each other unless Jojo needed something or was hungry or bored.
Nothing had changed between the pair of father and son, but with Sisi by their side, it felt empty when they weren’t a family of three.
"Why don’t you tell me what you do when I’m not around? Surely, Sisi finds a way to keep you entertained, right?"
"Yes! Sisi made a swing for me yesterday. So I swung and swung really high! Daddy, I really thought I would fly!" Jojo recalled his activity yesterday with great interest. He had a big smile on his face, but that smile soon turned upside down, and Kael noticed it.
"What’s wrong? Why are you sulking again?" he asked.
"Because Sisi’s friends came to us yesterday..." Jojo muttered.
"Friends?" Kael frowned. As far as he remembered, Sisi had been busy with herself and taking care of Jojo. She never made a friend in this palace, though Kael didn’t forbid her to do so.
As long as it was a female beastman, of course. Because her beauty would make any male beastman lose their minds and try to court her, just like that panther with raging young blood, Garou.
"Mm, Sisi has faerie friends, Daddy. She also introduced them to me!"
"Jojo, did Sisi tell you some fairy tales before sleep?" Kael asked, thinking that his son was just being overly imaginative.
But Jojo’s reaction said otherwise. He shook his head vehemently, as if telling his father that he wasn’t lying.
"Daddy, it’s true! I cannot see, but the faeries fly around me and sit on my shoulders and head, then they introduced themselves! Their names are... um..." Jojo tried to recall the names of the faeries and mentioned them one by one, "Dodo, Keke, and Tutu!"
Kael didn’t believe his son’s words, thinking it was just a child’s imagination. But he indulged in that fantasy so Jojo wouldn’t feel so bored.
"Is that so? Then what did the faeries say to you?"
"They said that they are here for their darling. They call Sisi their darling and want to bring her home!" Jojo pouted as he clenched Kael’s cloak. "Daddy, please don’t let Sisi leave with the faeries. I’m afraid I can’t be with Sisi anymore!"
The smile on Kael’s lips gradually dimmed as he began to suspect that Jojo wasn’t just imagining things. The way he said it sounded too convincing, and he also remembered how Sisi’s power to manipulate plants was really powerful, probably the most powerful witch of them all.
But what if she was never a witch to begin with, but a faerie...
Kael knew that faeries had great control over plants. Maybe Sisi was a special case that somehow made her become a full-sized human instead of a thumb-sized faerie.
The more Kael thought about it, the more ridiculous it seemed. But he couldn’t shake off his worry.
He began to wonder what he should do if Jojo’s story was real, and the faeries wanted to bring Sisi back to their secret land and never let her leave again.
’If that really happens then... I’ll overturn every big tree in this forest just to find those faeries’ village and bring Sisi back,’ Kael thought selfishly. ’There is no other way. Even if Sisi resists, then I’ll have to bear with it as long as she can be with us.’
He looked at his son, who was still distressed, and said, "Then let me ask Sisi later about this. Don’t worry."
"Please make her stay, Daddy. I... I don’t know what to do without Sisi. I’m so scared..." Jojo begged. He was on the verge of crying again, but it couldn’t be helped because the thought of Sisi leaving him alone in this dark world was too depressing for the boy. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
"I promise to make her stay, Jojo. Don’t worry," Kael patted his son’s back as he planned how to talk to Sisi about this.

Kael returned to the main chamber with Jojo, who was already asleep in his embrace.
"Where have you been? It’s already past Jojo’s afternoon nap," Sisi sighed with a smile as she picked Jojo from his father’s embrace and carried him to the bed.
She gently put Jojo on the bed and wiped the sweat from his forehead.
She returned to Kael, who was sitting at the table where she was still working on the gift for Kael and Jojo.
He was staring at her with a solemn gaze, which made Sisi wonder if there was something happening inside the palace.
She sat directly facing Kael and asked, "What’s wrong? You look... concerned."
"Jojo told me a funny story while we were walking around the garden," Kael went straight to the point, because he was also worried about the possibility of Sisi leaving.
Sisi’s eyes darted to the faeries who were hiding behind a potted plant. They were too scared to get close to the Dusk Star as they sensed his murderous aura, but they still wanted to watch over their darling.
