Mommy Wolf: Raise A Cub, Claimed By His Beast Daddy-Chapter 206: A Cure For A Freedom (IV)
But Sisi brought out the tender side of him, a side that he never knew he had, and he didn’t want to let her go.
Meanwhile, Sisi maintained her silence for a good while until her heart began to ache listening to Kael’s confession. He was so gentle and desperate that it was impossible for her to keep a straight face and steel her heart.
Her body began to tremble as she imagined the separation between her and these two important souls in her life.
She actually felt a little guilty when Kael said that both Jojo and he relied on her presence in their lives, because all this time she had been trying to fit in and find her own family, even though Jojo and Kael already saw her as their family of three.
"This is for the best, Kael. I’ve seen Jojo as my own son, and no mother would be willing to let her child go through such unimaginable torment," Sisi said. "As for you..."
"I don’t want anyone else!" Kael interrupted before Sisi could advise him to forget her and move on. "Why don’t you understand that you are important in Jojo’s and my lives? Do you really think that we can forget you just because you said so?!"
...
Sisi was finally speechless after that, knowing whatever she said would only sound cruel in Kael’s ears.
The faeries were watching this scene and listening to all the words that the Dusk Star uttered toward their darling.
They never thought that a cursed monster could be so desperate for their darling’s love. But no amount of desperation could change the fact that the Dusk and Dawn Stars and their darling weren’t fated to be together.
After all, their darling was made from a sapling from inside Grandma Tree. She was as pure as a creature could be, and to let her stay with a man who had been cursed since birth to carry the millions of sins of Roc Forest was... unthinkable.
"Tutu, do you think we should say something? At this rate, our darling’s heart will melt for the Dusk Star..." Jan Keke said as she kept staring at them. "We shouldn’t let them be together, don’t you remember what happened to our previous darling?"
Tutu sighed. "I know. Our darling should stay chaste for the rest of her life even if she is half-human, because the faerie blood in her demands that she maintain her purity. But what can we do..."
Crush Tutu was the most knowledgeable among the youngest faeries, because she was under the tutelage of her Grandpa Toto, the scholar of the faerie land.
And based on what she had read and listened to, she knew it was impossible for them to be together, even if they were in love with each other.
"Fate is so cruel to them..." Bold Dodo muttered. "Would our darling end up just like her mother?"
"Hush! What are you talking about, Dodo?! Our darling must survive this time!" 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
"S-sorry, I was just worried."
Crush Tutu felt that her friends’ worries were justified. After all, the faeries were devastated when their previous darling—Sisi’s mother—died prematurely, even though she was still very young for a faerie.
Before they could do anything, there was a groan coming from the bed, and Jojo rubbed his eyes as he muttered, "Sisi? Daddy? Are you there?"
Kael and Sisi quickly released their hug. Kael wiped his tears immediately as he didn’t want to look weak in front of his family, and Sisi went to Jojo’s side and sat at the edge of the bed, caressing the boy’s head gently as she asked, "Why are you up so early? Your naptime should be about fifteen minutes more."
"Umm... I’m a little hungry, Sisi," Jojo said, then he remembered what he said to his father before. "Oh, I told Daddy about the faeries. But he said that adults cannot see faeries. That’s sad..."
Sisi chuckled. "Adults can’t see faeries, but I can see them just fine because I was a good girl when I was young. If you want to keep seeing them, you know what to do, right?"
"Yes! I will continue to be a good boy so I can see faeries!" Jojo said excitedly. "Oh, but I can’t see. Um... I’ll be a good boy so I can continue talking with the faeries!"
"Yeah, be a good boy, Jojo," Kael said as he cleared his throat, making sure that Jojo didn’t notice how upset he was.
"Oh, Daddy, have you told Sisi to stay?" Jojo asked. He grabbed Sisi’s hand tightly and smiled. "Sisi, please don’t leave, okay? Umm... Daddy has a lot of gold and gemstones! He can give everything to you as long as you stay!"
Kael almost laughed ironically when he heard that. If keeping her around were as easy as giving her that gold, he would have emptied the treasury and even gone as far as searching for more gold and gemstones for Sisi.
In fact, he didn’t mind invading the human kingdom outside of Roc Forest if gold was all she wanted.
Unfortunately, Sisi wasn’t blinded by gold, which made it harder for Kael to keep her.
Sisi had prepared herself to tell Jojo about her leaving the kingdom to return to the faerie land. "Jojo, there is something I have to tell you. I’ve been talking with the faeries and—"
"—And decided to stay in the Beast Kingdom, with us!" Kael interrupted immediately.
"Really?!" Jojo’s face brightened and he hugged Sisi immediately. "Thank you so much for staying, Sisi! I promise to be a good boy and not to cry too much!"
Sisi was helpless at this rate. All she could do was glare at Kael for interrupting her and making it awkward if she told Jojo the truth.
But Kael simply turned around and left the main chamber.
Sisi sighed as she gently caressed Jojo’s hair. ’What am I going to do if I have to leave Jojo in the end?’
