Mommy Wolf: Raise A Cub, Claimed By His Beast Daddy-Chapter 215: By Mommy and Daddy’s Side (I)
Kael went inside the main chamber and carefully put her on the bed right next to Jojo, who was sleeping like a log right now.
"I’ll be here by morning. So sleep well for now, Sisi. I know you must be tired," Kael said as he was about to leave.
However, Sisi grabbed his wrist, halting his step and said, "Why don’t you sleep with us tonight, Kael?"
Kael’s eyes widened. He thought he misheard it, but Sisi nudged the empty space on Jojo’s left side. "There’s still plenty of space for you."
...
Kael couldn’t call himself a man if he didn’t follow her request. He rushed to lie on the bed before Sisi changed her mind.
Sisi chuckled lightly. "No need to rush. You don’t want to wake Jojo up. It’s hard to make him sleep if he wakes up at midnight."
"S-sorry..." he muttered.
At first, he lay stiff like a block on the bed, but he slowly turned sideways to face Sisi, who had been staring at him the whole time.
She had a tender smile for him. "Do you think that Jojo will be happy once he wakes up and sees his Mommy and Daddy on the bed?"
"He surely will..." Kael confirmed. "And I will be happy too seeing your face in the morning, Sisi."
"Did Vestor teach you how to say frivolous words?" Sisi raised her brow, teasing the now flustered Beast King.
"N-not at all. I’m just being honest..."
"I know. I’m just teasing you," Sisi grinned. She then checked Jojo, who was sleeping on his back and facing southwest.
Jojo had the habit of tossing and turning in his sleep, probably a habit that he picked up from Kael, who also did the same when she tried to wake him up back when she had just arrived here.
"Do you want me to help?" Kael asked.
"Mm, lay him on his back. It’s healthier," Sisi said, and Kael helped by picking up his son carefully and laying him on his back just as instructed.
Now Jojo was protected on both sides by his Mommy and Daddy, and the boy seemed to have sensed that. Because not long after Kael helped him, the boy muttered, "Mmm... Mommy... Daddy..."
Kael and Sisi looked at each other and giggled seeing how cute their son was.
Sisi slept sideways, facing Jojo, and Kael did the same. They stared at each other for a long time before Kael murmured, "I wish we could stay like this for eternity. Just the three of us."
"Eternity is a long time. Are you sure that you won’t get bored of me?"
"I won’t," Kael replied firmly.
Sometimes he was reminded of his severed fated mate who had a pair of violet eyes. But when he tried to imagine Sisi with those eyes, his heart began to settle and he calmed down.
In fact, it didn’t matter even if Sisi didn’t have violet eyes, because what mattered was how much Kael liked—no—loved her.
"We might not be able to spend an eternity like this. But I am very content tonight," Sisi said. She closed her eyes as tears began to fall from the corners of her eyes and wet the pillow. "I also wish that we could stay like this forever. I wish we could sleep by Jojo’s side forever, so he will feel the warmth of a Mom and a Dad. We might not be his birth parents, but I’m sure we have love as great as his parents—or maybe a bit more."
Kael recalled Jojo’s birth parents and how much of a cruel warmonger his Alpha from the old pack was. So he nodded. "We sure love him much more than his real parents ever could."
"Then I just hope that Jojo will understand that everything we did so far is for his own good," Sisi said. "I am willing to sacrifice everything, even my life, for Jojo’s safety."
Kael kept his mouth shut as he stared at Sisi’s tears. He had the urge to wipe those tears and calm her down, but she seemed to be releasing all the exhaustion from the decision she was about to make tomorrow.
Kael still didn’t want to let her go so easily. But that was something for tomorrow morning.
For now, all he wanted was to lie peacefully right next to his beloved ones.
Surprisingly, the chattering Dusk Star inside his head always went quiet when Sisi was around, as if she was the medicine that he needed all along.
’If she is truly the medicine that I need, then why should I let her go?’ That question lingered in Kael’s mind as he slowly drifted off to sleep.

The faerie soldiers went to any flowers they could find to have a rest after their long journey to the north. But the elders—General Gugu and Healer Roro—alongside the trio of faeries—Crush Tutu, Jan Keke, and Bold Dodo—were gathered near a tree branch for a discussion.
"All of you need to tell us the truth about our darling and those cursed beings," General Gugu demanded of the trio of faeries, and Crush Tutu, as the representative, retold the story that Healer Roro had heard before.
General Gugu closed his eyes as he listened to the entire truth, including the fact that their mistress wanted to cure the Dawn Star’s blindness in exchange for her return to the faerie land.
General Gugu clenched his fist. He controlled his anger and turned toward Healer Roro and asked, "What do you think, Roro? Is there any way out of this predicament?"
"... I prefer to talk with our darling tomorrow morning. Her request is very... difficult for us. Because we are faeries, and naturally we shouldn’t help the cursed beings whose entire existence is meant to carry the darkness inside Roc Forest," Healer Roro said. "Besides, even if we can help, there is no guarantee that our method will work on a cursed being, right?"
Healer Roro turned toward the trio of faeries and said, "What do all of you think of the Dawn Star?"
