Chapter 234: Chapter 234: Cloaks for Her Family (I)

"And we’re here!" General Gugu finally stopped flying after they went on a long journey to the south. He turned around to face his darling. "Darling, this area is what we call the gray zone, because the activity of other animals can be seen anywhere, but it’s also very close to the entrance leading to faerie land!"

"I see..." Sisi muttered. She looked at her left and right and realized this area was actually very beautiful.

It was surrounded by tall trees and also a waterfall with a clear lake underneath, showing the small fish swimming around.

If only Sisi had found this place when she was with Jojo, she would’ve just built a house here, because getting water wouldn’t be a problem, and catching fish and hares shouldn’t be difficult either.

However, she didn’t see any entrance leading to the faerie land.

Healer Roro seemed to have guessed what her darling was thinking, since she kept looking at her left and right. "Darling, the entrance is inside the waterfall."

"Ah? Inside that waterfall?"

"Yes. Faeries are weak by nature, so we need to use the earth as our advantage. The crystal-clear water might look tempting for anyone to jump in for a dip, but there is actually a pet alligator that would attack anything on sight unless you’re a faerie. He’s basically our guardian.

On top of that, the waterfall might look like it is flowing very fast and hard, but it is actually an illusion. Once you reach the waterfall, it’ll only feel like a trickle, at least for us faeries. For humans or beastmen, the waterfall will actually hurt them. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

Lastly, the cave behind the waterfall will get smaller and smaller until it’s only thumb-sized. That is when you finally see the entrance leading to faerie land."

After the long explanation from Healer Roro, Sisi nodded and slowly hopped off Kael’s back. Jojo grunted as he finally woke up from his nap.

"Umm... Sisi, can we eat now? I’m a little hungry..."

Sisi smiled while patting the wolf cub with white-silver fur resting in her arm. "Alright, let’s stay here for a moment."

Kael silently shifted back to his beastman form. He simply followed whatever instruction and direction Sisi gave him, because his mind was occupied with how they could stay together.

Even right now, he still hadn’t given up on keeping both his son and his beloved. Alas, he already got to know the entrance leading to the faerie land and all the security that could stop him from entering as well.

Sisi used her power to create a small home made out of roots, vines, and leaves. Then she began to unpack all of their belongings and asked Kael to kill the chicken that they brought before giving it to Jojo.

Jojo shifted into his beastman form and happily sucked the chicken from its neck like a straw. He sat obediently, sometimes kicking his legs while joyfully thinking that he was camping with Sisi, his father, and the faeries.

He might be blind, but he truly didn’t mind as long as Sisi stayed by his side to love him, and his father protected him.

But Sisi had a different idea...

She suddenly pulled Kael to the side and whispered, "Kael, I have to leave now..."

Kael’s eyes widened. He instinctively hugged her tightly and demanded, "Promise me that you’ll be back. I cannot lose you, Sisi."

"Calm down," Sisi smiled. She knew that Kael must’ve been anxious because of the idea that she would stay in the faerie land forever, and though that was inevitable, they still had to make sure the water from Origin Spring could actually cure Jojo’s eyes.

Sisi tiptoed and gave Kael a kiss on the lips. It was very quick, almost like a feather brushing against his lips, but it was like an assurance that Sisi still wanted him, even if the situation made it unfavorable for both of them.

"I will be back. I’m here to find a cure for Jojo, so why should you worry about that?" Sisi joked, hitting his firm chest. "Remember to take care of Jojo while I’m gone. Don’t worry, the faeries will stay to keep him company."

Kael had a lot to say, but in the end he nodded weakly and returned to his son’s side dejectedly.

Sisi followed from behind and put Jojo on her lap. "Jojo, you’ll have to stay here with your Daddy for a while, alright?"

"Ah? What’s wrong, Sisi? Do you need some time alone again? Daddy and I can walk somewhere together!" Jojo said.

Just as his father said, since he spent almost all his time glued to Sisi, it was only right for Sisi to have some time for herself, because an adult needed that.

Sisi paused caressing his head for a moment and giggled. "Mm! I need some alone time, but it’ll take a while this time, because I have something to do. Don’t worry, your Daddy will stay by your side, and the faeries will keep you company, alright?"

Jojo pouted as he didn’t want to be separated for too long. But his father told him that it wasn’t good to suffocate Sisi by constantly bothering her.

"Promise that you’ll be back, Sisi!"

"Of course I will be back! I love you, Jojo, and when you love someone, you’ll do anything to make sure you can stay by their side," Sisi patted Jojo’s head before handing him to Kael.

"Okay, I’ll be waiting with Daddy!" Jojo said without thinking much.

However, he sensed that his father’s hand was trembling as he held him, so he asked, "Daddy, what’s wrong? Why are your hands shaking so much?"

"No—nothing at all, son." Despite earning the title of the Beast King and becoming the strongest beastman in the entire forest, Kael found it difficult to breathe right now. He became weak and hopeless as Sisi suddenly grabbed something from their supplies and returned to them with a pair of dark cloaks, one small and one big.
