Thud Thud

Ashlyn and Nero had dropped the bodies of the monsters one after another in front of me.

While Ashlyn had killed the bull monster, Nero killed a hog monster that had got attracted by Ashlyn's battle.

"Good job," I said to the two of them and took the bodies of monsters in my storage.

It will be a challenge to cook them, but it is a challenge I am looking forward to. I am sure they will taste delicious.

Rhaek had already said they are

Speaking of Rhaek, it seemed like I had entered a more dangerous area than it had, as the first monsters it had seen were of Grand Lord class, while the ones I saw were above the Grand Lords.

I will have to be extremely careful of them; one mistake and their claws would tear me apart, spilling my guts.

Nearly a minute after I stored the corpse, I began to move away again.

Once again, I began to search for a safe spot, a place where I would be able to work for a week without any disturbance, but such an area was not easy to find.

Still, I have to try as this will not be the first safe-space I will need to find, considering I will be staying here for two years.

Fifteen minutes passed, and still, there was nothing.

I wish I had appeared where Rhaek had appeared; that place was not only relatively safe compared to this, but also was ruins of the city, which had many places where it could hide.

It is one of the reasons why it had survived for a weak.

Hun!

I was thinking about the dead golden fire werewolf when Nero sensed a monster, which was also above the limit, but unlike the two, it had barely crossed the limit of a tyrant.

Seeing that, I moved toward it.

I am going to stay in this place for two years, and eventually, I will need to fight the monsters here.

Powerful monsters like this one, with the strength I have. As I am not going to make any advancement till, I make a breakthrough, which is far, far away.

So, I better get used to it, as Ashlyn and Nero will not save me every time, not to mention I need a combat information. The Grimms have given me tons of it, and now, I need to get it from the powerful monsters too.

I moved close to it, and just when I had reached about five hundred meters of it, it sensed me and came at me.

Through Nero's eyes, it came toward me; its speed was like a blur, that it did not even take a second to reach me.

It did not attack me; it stopped at a healthy distance and looked at me clearly, as I was looking at it.

It is a dark blue wolf monster with black eyes and a blue horn over its head, which's energy signature is off the chart.

The wolf is also small compared to the powerful monsters of our world; it is the size of a regular wolf monster, but it is far from regular.

Growl!

It looked at me for about three seconds and what seemed like a grin appeared on its face before it shot toward me with claws that seemed to be sharper than the blades.

The speed is beyond what I could see, so I have done what I did against the Grimms.

I harnessed every bit of the power I had and swung my sword, letting my instinct and experience guide me.

CLANNNG!

Its claws clashed against my sword, and my eyes went wide in shock, not because of the power behind the attack but because of the energy; it had sent a tiny bit of energy at me, but that energy was densely packed.

I have never experienced such densely packed energy from any enemy, despite fighting thousands of them.

Puhh!

The first thing that happened as we clashed was that I began to take steps back rapidly, while at the same time, I vomited blood with a piece of my flesh in it.

I did not even try to stop the vomit, as there were other important things for me to do, like getting the momentum of the attack, which had nearly shot me back under control, and moving to defend against attack from the wolf.

Sup!

A small beam of blue energy coming toward me at an impossibly fast speed that I had no confidence in defending and wanted to burn my blood, but I held back on that instinct and moved my sword, which was already ready.

I could not afford to burn my blood here, where every monster I saw seemed to be above the powerhouse.

CLINNNG!

A sharp sound rang out as the beam of energy clashed against my sword and the moment it. That tiny bolt of energy came at me, shaking my armor as it seeped inside it.

Even now, when it is seeping inside my armor, I can't focus on it as I am moving my sword to defend against the monster, which came at me, the moment it launched the energy attack.

I only hoped that my armor would be able to stop it. If not, then I will truly be in serious trouble.

CLANNNG!

Once again, its sharp claws clashed against my sword with an even more powerful attack than before, that I was nearly shocked back like a broken doll.

I had made a few changes knowing I would be here and would be facing such powerful monsters.

It is now a little harder to send me back into the fights. Though, it could still happen if my enemy had used enough power and this blue wolf monster nearly had that power.

I would need to be extremely careful not to shoot back, as it restricts me and will give a monster a greater chance to tear through me.

CLANNNG CLINNNG CLANNNG

It disappeared and appeared behind me, wanting to tear my head apart with its claws, but I defended, but a second after doing that, a beam of dense blue energy came at me before another claw attack.

The wolf seemed to be even smarter than the Grimms with its constant attacks.

It is not wasting any time on growl and instead launching constant attacks on me that keep me fearing for my life.

As it will need only a successful attack to finish me off.

I want to burn my blood every second, but I am controlling those instincts and calmly defending against the attacks.

As I had said before, burning the blood is not a choice; even with all the resources and methods I have, the recovery period is too long.

Here seconds are too long; forget minutes and hours.

"Try harder, little wolf," I teased the wolf as I got the hand of its rhythm. It is a monster, after all; its movements are much easier to predict after dealing with a few hundred of them.

Growl!

It growled at me angrily and came at me, and I was ready for it as I moved my sword in defense, which made it angry, and it launched the beam directly at my head, which had dodged with a slight movement of my neck.

It was the first time I had dodged the attack this way, and it felt cool but also extremely dangerous, and if my sword and I were not moving to defend against it, I wouldn't have done something dangerous.

My teasing and defense have made it angry, and its attacks have become more dangerous but also most predictable.

Be it humans, Grimms, or monsters, all of them are easier to predict when they are angry.

The enemies who are calm are the most dangerous ones, which is why I always antagonize powerful enemies.

Once they got angry, it became a little easier to deal with them.

Another minute passed, and it seemed like our little fight had attracted the ruckus. Thankfully, Ashlyn had moved to deal with it, and this time, she was not playing around.

Seeing she might be able to finish the battle sooner than me despite having a powerful enemy, I begin to take even greater risks.

The monster, too, seemed to have lost all its patience as it began to attack me crazily without holding anything back.

Which in turn increased pressure on me immensely.

Seeing that, I completely focused on the battle, forgetting everything else, including the battle that Ashlyn was fighting.

Forty more seconds had passed when suddenly a smile appeared on my face, and the monster also seemed to have something bad about to happen.

It stopped as it was about to leap at me and even took a step back.

"You should have run away when you had a chance," I said with a shake of my head, and an intricate weave of strings appeared on its body.

It is completely covered by them and thus in my control.

It is powerful enough to still move through my strings, despite heavily binding it, but that does not change its fate.
