Chapter 3395 Followed

I walked out of the gates and Marlin and took the sky. My destination is Javelin City, but I am not moving toward it.

Taking a direct route isn't wise. There is a small conflict between the two organizations that is happening and could explode into a full-blown one; I don't want to go through such uncertainty.

It is not uncommon for them to recruit independent adventurers to boost their numbers.

This second route is good. It will only delay me by a day or two, but much safer. I should be able to reach Javelin City within a month.

'Come out, Nero,' I said to him, and he came out before shooting toward the forest down below. I have a power of Peak Sovereign and there is a danger for me, but not enough that I would be forced to travel on the ground.

It is not sustainable either; the javelin city is far and not flying isn't an option, considering I wouldn't be able to reach there, in time.

I have to go there as soon as possible. Some things are happening in the background, and I need to know.

As they are related to the place, I am going.

I wanted to find out what the hush-hush is about, that people are not even willing to talk openly about it. It made me feel it wouldn't be wise to investigate it further.

Still, I didn't come out without any information; I was a little lucky last night and got some tidbits.

The pass, everybody is searching for them. Not to go to that place, but to sell them to the organizations. Many organizations have placed the notice in the underground, willing to pay an insane amount for a single pass.

It is so much; I have thought about selling the pass.

It is more than everything I have in my core. If I took out a certain resource. It is not just these Earth-Sovereign and Sky Sovereign organizations that are looking for them, but also the Prime.

Though, they have not posted about it. So, it might just be a rumor.

The stakes are high, and I wish what they are, so I could be better prepared. I hope I will be able to gather some information about the cities I passed through.

I like to have an idea about what is going on before I keep a foot in the javelin city.

A little more than an hour passed, and I landed beside a tree and took out my abode. I stayed inside for two and a half hours before coming out and resuming my journey again.

I had taken a break from the lesson and a few hours of study after.

Every lesson is precious, and I will miss even a single; learning the ancient runes has become tremendously important to me. So much that I would give up the place I am going if I needed to choose between a few lessons and that place.

A few more hours passed, and evening came. I didn't stop and continued.

Hun!

It was nearly nine when I sensed the presence behind me and in a one-half minute; they reached so close that I stopped.

A few seconds later, I saw five people who quickly surrounded me.

Each belongs to a different race. One of them is a person who is half-stone and half-human. It is quite rare for these two races to produce offspring together and the one that is able to reach Peak-Sovereign.

"It took you all long enough," I said and immediately, a surprise couldn't help, but appear on my face.

"You knew we were following you?" asked the elf. "Of course, even before we stepped out of the city," I replied, which surprised him even more, but he quickly controlled his expression.

"Well, then you might have guessed what we are after?" he asked. "My storage," I replied.

"Yes, and everything they contained, and I hope you will hand them to us peacefully," he said.

"What are you going to do with me after?" I asked, and a flash of irritation appeared in his eyes.

"Kill you, of course. We can't leave you alive. It might harm our source, who had helped us a lot in all these years," replied the half-stone skin man, making the elf sigh.

"Give your storage and we will make your death as painless as possible," said the elf.

I smiled upon hearing that.

"I have an offer, too. Give me all of your storage and I beat the shit out of you, but will keep you alive, enough that you all will be able to recover in a year or two," I said back, and anger flashed in their eyes.

"We know you are powerful, but there are five of us. We will be able to handle anything you can throw at us," said Elf confidently.

"Famous last words, said by many people like you, all of whom now remain buried in the ground," I said to them.

"You bastard. I will kill you!" said a half-stone skin man and came at me, with aura blazing; Nobody stopped him and watched with interest and alertness.

GROWL!

He had taken a few steps when a large grown rang out and the huge white wolf came out of the shadows.

All of them are shocked seeing it. As nobody had been able to sense it, despite coming so close.

The elf looked at the wolf before turning to me. "How about we consider this as one big understanding and go with our ways?" he asked.

"Too late," I said Nero moved toward him with such speed that they were to bring out their weapons to defend against the coming attack.

"Fuck!" cursed Elf and moved toward his group while I moved away from them.

These people had a clear intention to kill me, and I really didn't want to kill them despite them showing intention to do it first.

I had killed too many in the sea, but these idiots didn't listen, and one of them had even moved to attack me.

Now, I am handling them with Nero. He had been missing the action of months at the core. He had been mostly spending time in the library doing go-know-what.

Ever since the library appeared, he would spend, half of his time there. He could go to the places to which I have no access.

I tried to find out many times, but seal the ring, and when I asked, he stayed silent.

Ashlyn is the same.

I watched the battle and I have to say, these five are strong and their greatest strength is their teamwork. It is impeccable, they must have spent at least a few decades fighting together.

Nero is enjoying himself. Slowly increasing his power against them, till they begin to shoot back with his every attack.

The elf is smart, and he seems to understand the futility of fighting against Nero and moved to run.

He was the first to get killed and after him was a half-stoneskin man, who had something interesting, and would have been able to stall me from killing him, but Nero is not me.
