Chapter 390: Ultimate Goal.

Thor was still pretending to be stern as he said, "I’ll tell you now that I care for insubordination. I will have you punished if you don’t respectfully call me your elder."

Arthur laughed. Thor didn’t like that he laughed. He sneered and said, "Laugh it up. Let’s see if you will continue to find it funny when I become an elder."

"Let me tell you now, the first thing I will do when I become an elder and gain power is to let the power change me. I will be a tyrant the likes of whom you’ve never seen before."

Arthur decided to humor him, so he asked, "And what would you use your power to do first if you became the strongest person in Ethera?"

Thor thought about it and replied, "I will use my great power to hoard all the shiny and precious metals in the world."

As he spoke, his eyes lit up with greed. He said, "How great would that be?"

He wasn’t joking anymore. If he got supreme power, he would truly hoard valuable metals and forge all kinds of interesting things. That is his obsession and goal, not sex or money or power.

Arthur said, "For the sake of our friendship, I will keep all of my shit and send it over to you since it is so precious and valuable."

The two of them joked with each other as they went their way. They reached the teleportation hall and handed their permission slip to the attendants.

From there they were teleported outside the sect to the city below the mountain range where the sect was located. The two of them had done this many times, so they knew how to find the airport from here with their eyes closed.

This was going to be their fifth trip to harvest a secret realm. So they dare not say that they’ve seen everything to see. After all, they’ve only been to four out of the total 25 rank 2 secret realms.

They haven’t even been to one-fifth of the total number of secret realms, so they can’t say that they’ve seen everything to see. But they can say confidently that there is very little that can surprise them.

However, this belief was challenged when they reached their airship and found more than three elder-level people on the airship. To be exact, there were more than 50 people at the third mortal coil on the airship, and there were still more arriving.

This took them by surprise because there were supposed to be only three people at the third mortal coil accompanying them, not 50 and more. What’s more, these people at the third mortal coil didn’t look to be at the peak of the third mortal coil like the three elders who used to accompany them.

Arthur’s senses weren’t completely accurate about the power of those at the third mortal coil, but he could tell that these people were too young and weak to be at the peak. His suspicions were confirmed when he spotted Goldwyn and Jason among them.

The two of them had changed drastically now. Their change was more than physical changes, though.

He could tell that they were not human anymore. He couldn’t put a finger on what was wrong with them, but he could tell that there was more to them that he couldn’t see.

From his observation of them, it wasn’t a bad thing that they weren’t human anymore. They felt more solid and powerful to his senses, so they were doing well.

Thor was also surprised by the sight of so many people at the third mortal coil. He frowned and asked, "What’s wrong? Are we lost?"

Arthur looked around again before replying. "I don’t think so. I see other people at the second mortal coil, and by the looks of things, they should be the people in the top 1,000 of the outer sect."

He was referring to Jade, Leroy, and Princess. He pointed them out so Thor also saw them.

Thor thought about it and suggested, "Let’s go over and ask them. Maybe they will know what’s going on."

Arthur shook his head and said, "Let’s go ask the seniors at the third mortal coil instead. Their words should be more reasonable because they should know why they are here."

Thor nodded in agreement. So the two of them approached the people at the third mortal coil.

The people they approached were Jason and Goldwyn. The two of them stood out in the crowd as two golden men.

Goldwyn wasn’t as shiny as he used to be. Instead, his white skin was laced with what appeared to be golden metal plates.

The golden metal plates were sometimes square or rectangular in shape. They were sometimes circular and also irregular in shape. But they all looked as if they were soldered to his skin.

As for Jason, he had the traditional golden runes tattooed all over his white skin. His eyes and hair were also glowing brightly. They were so bright that his hair looked like flames, while his eyes looked like the headlights of a car.

The last time Arthur saw Goldwyn was 20 years ago after his first inter-sect competition. As for Jason, the last time he saw him was 15 years ago after his second intersectcompetition.

The two of them have reached the third mortal coil now, which isn’t surprising. Goldwyn was already at the peak of the second mortal coil 20 years ago, while Jason was only at the seventh transformation at that time.

After his first inter-sect competition, which Goldwyn participated in, Goldwyn decided to break through to the third mortal coil. He succeeded, so he entered the inner sect and couldn’t participate in the inter-sect competition anymore.

Ever since he entered the inner sect, Arthur hadn’t seen him. The same thing happened with Jason a few years later when he reached the third mortal coil. So Arthur had missed them somewhat, and they too were glad to see Arthur.
