"This place reeks of strong dark energy. I don’t believe this. How can a single hybrid creature possess such an amount of dark energy?". Beta Damien said, before he left my side and walked towards the cage.

’Don’t overreact, Clara, but I 100 percent think that most parts of the dark energy that Beta Damien sensed has something to do with you’.

’Yeah. I figured that out, Elektra’. I replied to her and didn’t overreact or anything, because overreacting would make Beta Damien think or know that I had something to do with the dark energy he was sensing.

But, why was the dark energy so strong?! Hasn’t it been hours already since I left this place?

My dark energy should have dissipated by now. Only the dark energy of the hybrid creature that was supposed to remain.

Not paying attention to Beta Damien anymore, I replied to President Michael, who stopped looking at Beta Damien and focused his attention on me upon hearing my voice. "You are right, President Michael. I was the one who killed the hybrid creature. I found it inside your family’s vacation mansion. But after I defeated it, I had to return to my hotel room because my energy was drained after fighting it. Also, that hybrid creature is responsible for the bite mark on your daughter’s leg. I plan to use the hybrid creature to try and create a cure for your daughter as soon as possible, starting now".

President Michael was beyond speechless. Even his son, Jace, was stunned, and said to me, "So you are saying that that thing has been living under the same roof together with me and my family?".

"Correct".

Jace’s eyes widened in disbelief and his face turned purple.

Even his legs began to shake, and I could imagine the thoughts that were going on in his head, making me wonder, ’When they saw the dead hybrid creature that I had killed, did they seriously think that the hybrid creature had fallen from the sky?’.

"I don’t have the time to chit-chat with any of you. I must create a cure for your daughter as soon as possible. I have other things to do". I declared and commanded my light magic within my mind.

I caused the cage containing the dead body of the hybrid creature to disappear, before I disappeared too, leaving behind Beta Damien, Anders, Fireball, Irving and the others.

Author’s pov,

"Meow?".

"Meow?".

Both Fireball and Irving meowed and stared at the empty spot where Anastasia stood seconds ago. They couldn’t believe that their mama had left without them.

King Nikolai’s pov,

I had successfully escaped from those crazy ladies.

It took a long while to escape from them because I had to pretend and run like a normal human.

I could have easily escaped from them, but I didn’t want to use my agility in front of them, because if they saw me becoming oddly fast, they would know that I wasn’t a human, and my cover would be blown.

I could hear the ladies’ voices and footsteps, but it was faint. Meaning that they were far from me.

I stopped hiding behind the walls and went out of my hiding spot.

The instant I came out of my hiding spot, I could finally perceive her scent.

"Her scent is strong. Our mate is close by, Nolan". I said to him.

’What are you waiting for? Go to her immediately, Nikolai!’. He urged me.

His hurried response clearly showed me how impatient he was.

Without hesitating, I began to track my mate’s location using her scent. I was running so fast that nobody was able to see me.

Actually, I made sure to run on roofs, as running on the ground would make it easier for people to spot or see me.

It took me only two minutes and I jumped down from a tall building and acted like nothing had happened.

I was surprised when I perceived that the scent had become stronger, and the scent was coming from the hospital building that I was standing in front of.

’Is this a joke, Nikolai? Are you trying to prank me by telling me that our mate is inside that hospital?’. Nolan asked me.

He must think that I was playing a prank on him since he couldn’t perceive our mate’s scent right now, as he was stuck in the empty abyss.

I was not ready to argue with him, so I gave him control of our body. He sniffed his nose multiple times in a row and was staring at the hospital building, which was a skyscraper.

"How can this be, Nikolai? What is our mate doing in such a place like that? Is she possibly sick?!". Nolan asked me.

The word ’sick’ was enough reason for me to regain control of Nolan and my body.

If Nolan was correct and our mate was sick, then that explains everything. That explains why I couldn’t perceive her scent earlier.

But, werewolves and Lycans rarely get sick.

It is not good news that she is there, in the hospital!

I began to panic. I had almost dashed into the hospital when I suddenly halted because I recalled an important piece of information.

My mate’s main purpose in coming to the human cities was to treat President Michael’s sick daughter.

So, my mate must be inside the hospital only because she is trying to treat President Michael’s daughter, who must be hospitalized in the hospital I was standing in front of.

’Why did you stop, Nikolai?’.

Nolan asked me, causing me to explain everything to him.

Less than five seconds after I had finished explaining everything to Nolan, he grumpily said to me, ’You should have recalled that sooner, Nikolai. You made me overreact and panic for no reason’.

’Irrespective of that, go inside the hospital, let’s see her’. He added.

’I am already on it’. I replied to him this time through our mind link, and my gaze was fixed on the building.

I knew that if I went into the hospital building, they would not allow me full access to roam about the hospital because I wasn’t a patient.

So my only option is to infiltrate the hospital unnoticed.

And I am a pro at executing stuff like that.
