Chapter 361: Chapter 361: Get Ready

After the woman left, Trenton called for his trusted aide, Cameron.

"Trenton, it was Daniel who messed with the fleet. Should we..." Cameron began. He had followed Trenton for years, and this was the first time someone had made them suffer a huge setback. He wasn’t willing to let it slide.

"Get ready. We’re going back to the country in two months," Trenton quickly interrupted him, making a decision that left Cameron stunned.

"Trenton, he’s nothing. We only let him off because we weren’t careful. If we leave now, people will think we’re scared of him."

Cameron had always been rough and arrogant. He beat the maids even more than Trenton did and never paid them a single cent.

He was ready to vent his anger and crush Daniel to death, but to his surprise, Trenton told him to back off.

Was it because of that woman, Chantelle Bently? It had to be her. She must’ve gotten into Trenton’s head and made him spare Daniel. She even managed to get Trenton’s support.

If Trenton really returns to her side, will there still be a place for me beside him?

Before things went bad between them, Chantelle had kept telling Trenton they should kick Cameron out.

No. I had to stop Trenton from getting closer to Chantelle.

"When did I ever need to explain myself to you?" Trenton gave Cameron a cold look that made him feel like Trenton had read his mind.

"Trenton, don’t be angry. I’ll start preparing right away. But if you leave, who’s going to manage everything here in Carcosa?"

"We’ll deal with what we can. Whatever we can’t handle, we’ll throw it away," Trenton said as he picked up his phone and opened his contacts.

There was only one number in his contacts and it was Chantelle’s.

He tapped the screen a few times but didn’t press the call button.

"Trenton, are you really giving up the Carcosa market?" Cameron was really shocked. Their business operated worldwide, but Carcosa was their base. Giving it up was like tearing down the foundation of a skyscraper.

"Our business here can’t continue," Trenton said.

He might be impulsive at times, but when it came to business, he was always clear-headed. That’s how he built his empire at such a young age and became someone feared by both the underground and the legal world.

The business he had in Carcosa had grown too big. Too many people wanted a piece of it.

The person Trenton once supported had now sided with his biggest enemy in the election. Their next move would be to strike hard and make sure he couldn’t fight back.

The explosion at the research center was just the start. Without their help, Daniel wouldn’t have been able to destroy the fleet so easily.

Trenton was tired of playing these games with them. Maybe it was time to play somewhere else.

He looked at Chantelle’s name on his phone and smiled faintly.

After he left, Cameron went straight to the woman who had brought Trenton the chicken soup. With a forced smile, he said, "Ms. Amy, please talk to Trenton. Chantelle has him under her spell. He’s planning to give up everything here in Carcosa and return to Easthan."

When Amy heard this, she was stunned. If Trenton ended up with Chantelle, how could she still act like the powerful and respected aunt of the house?

"What exactly did Trenton say?"

"He just told me to get ready. He said we’re going back in two months." Cameron looked worried. He didn’t know what else to do. Right now, he was counting on Amy.

His strategy was working on Amy. For years, many people in the castle had followed Amy’s lead. They admired her for being kind and gentle. Whenever they faced something they couldn’t solve, they turned to her. She felt like the lady of the house.

Now that someone was threatening that role, she had no choice but to fight back.

"I heard Daniel blew up Trenton’s fleet," she said sharply. "And Trenton didn’t say a word about it?"

She looked straight at Cameron, and he quickly spoke up. "Trenton didn’t mention it at all. Chantelle must have fooled him."

"Trenton’s just a poor child who’s always craved love," Amy said coldly. "But Chantelle is sly. Her love isn’t real. We have to help Trenton to stay away from her."

Cameron nodded again and again. "You’re the only one in this world who’s really been good to Trenton."

"Of course. Send someone to do it, and ensure it’s done secretly so no one will know." Amy made a slicing motion across her throat.

"What about his plan to return?" Cameron asked.

"Who can change Trenton’s mind? If he wants to go back, then let him. I miss my old friends too," Amy said with a smile that carried a deeper meaning.

Right after receiving Amy’s orders, Cameron was about to send someone to kill Chantelle. But just as he walked outside, his phone rang. It was Trenton.

"Bring Chantelle’s daughter to me. I haven’t seen that little girl in a while, and I miss her."

Cameron’s eyes lit up. This was exactly what he needed. It felt like Trenton had handed him the perfect excuse at the perfect time. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

How could Chantelle possibly hand over her daughter?

In a situation like that, it wouldn’t be surprising if Chantelle, her son, or even her husband got hurt in the bloody fight.

Meanwhile, in a secret villa outside the city, Daniel sat in a wheelchair. His face was still pale, but he looked more alive than before.

"Mr. Wilson, we’ve successfully led Trenton’s men away. Mrs. Wilson is already home and safe," the bodyguard reported respectfully.

Daniel gave a small nod and took a sip from the glass next to him.

"How is Mrs. Wilson?" he asked.

He wanted to call Chantelle and ask her directly, but he knew she’d probably scold him the moment she picked up. Besides, it wasn’t the right time to let her know where he was, so he held back himself.

"Mrs. Wilson came back with Lone Wolf. She’s a bit injured, but Dr. Caleb already checked on her. She wanted to come see you instantly, but Ms. Stephanie stopped her."

"Steph is smart," Daniel said softly with his eyes full of warmth. He knew he had to act quickly if he wanted to be with his wife and kids again.

"But... all the people Mrs. Wilson sent to steal the medicine from Trenton were caught. They didn’t manage to get it," the bodyguard said, looking at Daniel carefully.

He was there when the foreign doctor was treating Daniel. He heard that Daniel would be in danger if there were no special remedy within one week.

"It’s okay, I’ll go get it myself," Daniel said, looking towards the tall and mysterious castle with his lips pursed into a thin line.

Let’s settle both the old and new grudges this time.
