Chapter 475: Chapter 475: You Know How To Act?

Stephanie leaned closer to Chantelle and whispered in her ear, "Daddy’s jealous. He said you’re his wife. Only he can hug and kiss you. Anyone else who does it is harassing you."

Daniel immediately focused on his daughter. She wasn’t being subtle with her whispering at all.

"Stop glaring so much, Daddy. Your eyes are going to fall out." Stephanie clicked her tongue in disgust.

Daniel didn’t care. Chantelle looked like she was about to lecture him, lifting her chin as if daring him to accuse her of doing something wrong.

"What are you telling our daughter? Are you saying I can’t even have basic interaction with my children?" She wasn’t glaring back, but her attitude wasn’t any softer.

She had a look on her face that practically said, "How did someone like you end up with such a big share of the family fortune?"

"That’s not what I mean. You can do whatever you want in Easthan. Just stop going out of your way to meet everyone." His forceful tone made him seem even more like a domineering boss.

"Are you done throwing your tantrums around, Mr. Wilson?"

She was utterly baffled by his attitude.

Daniel said helplessly, "And what woman is as disobedient as you?"

In his mind, he pictured himself as an overbearing CEO and Chantelle as a timid mouse being taken care of.

Stop thinking!

"Ms. Bently..." The assistant director came over to ask for Chantelle’s opinion. He had only called her name, yet Daniel was already glaring at him.

W-What’s wrong with him? Did I say something wrong?

The assistant director knew Stephanie and turned to her for help.

She glanced at her father and whispered to him, "Maybe try calling her his wife?"

He broke into a cold sweat. What kind of suggestion was that?

"Mrs. Wilson, about this role..." he said carefully, and noticed Daniel’s expression wasn’t as dark anymore. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

He had no idea what was going on with rich people. Some stayed as far away from their wives as possible, while others were friendly but kept their distance. Husbands like Daniel were rare.

The assistant heard that the investor greeted Chantelle with a friendly hug, only to receive Daniel’s deadly glare.

Nothing mattered to him except the woman in front of them.

"I’m interested in the role. When is the audition?" Chantelle asked, finally looking up from the script and paying no attention to Daniel.

The assistant director was excited after hearing Chantelle’s words.

"If you’re available, we can meet with the director right now."

"Of course." Chantelle stood up and followed him.

She ignored the disapproving look Daniel gave her and even tried to shoo him away.

There was no way he was going to leave Chantelle and Stephanie alone. If anything happened, he wouldn’t have time to get to them.

So the three of them ended up squeezed together in the director’s temporary office. The director, already familiar with Chantelle, was about to talk to her about the script when he noticed Daniel.

"You’re here too, Mr. Wilson." The director licked his dry lips.

He had planned to ask Chantelle to act out a scene where she got molested.

Why was Daniel here?

Sensing the tense atmosphere, Stephanie quickly spoke up. "Don’t worry, Mr. Director. Just pretend Daddy isn’t here. He only came to watch."

"Ah, haha..." The director let out a forced laugh.

Daniel gave him a look, took Chantelle’s hand, and walked inside.

Then he sat down in a chair, and everyone in the office found themselves unable to look away from him.

The director complained silently to himself. Am I supposed to be auditioning Mr. Wilson instead?

"What scene will I be auditioning for?" Chantelle asked, noticing how nervous he looked.

Under Daniel’s watchful stare, the director changed his mind and gave Chantelle a simple scene instead.

Her performance pulled him in so completely that he forgot Daniel was even there. "That was perfect! You don’t need to try the molestation scene. You’ll do great!"

What? Wasn’t this supposed to be a film about emotional healing? Why was there a molestation scene?

Daniel stood over the director like an unmovable mountain.

He took the script from Chantelle’s hand, flipped through it, and asked the director, "Has anyone else taken this role?"

The director stared at him in shock. Was he really serious about this?

The head of the Wilson Group of Companies was going to play a minor role?

"Put me in that role," Daniel said.

He was the biggest investor. It wasn’t unusual for him to force an extra into the crew.

"Who are you going to play, Daddy?" Stephanie grabbed at him excitedly. She was excited at the idea of being in a show with her family.

He showed his daughter the character in the script, and she instantly deflated. She shook her head. "No! I don’t want Daddy to play this one! You should play this character instead!"

Stephanie pointed at a "good guy" role. Daniel glanced at it and saw that the character had no interaction with Chantelle. That annoyed him.

"Stop fooling around. Aren’t you busy enough with the company?" Chantelle knew he was only trying to interfere, so she wouldn’t take the role.

Daniel shot back, "Who’s fooling around? If you can do it, I can do it."

"You know how to act?" Both Chantelle and Stephanie glared at him.

He brushed the corner of his lips with his thumb. What was so hard about acting? Did it even require skill?

"We’ll see."

All the pressure shifted to the director. He was terrified but also wanted to stay on Daniel’s good side. What was he supposed to do?

"We should give it a try since Mr. Wilson is willing to join us."

The scene wasn’t suitable for a child like Stephanie to watch, but no one could stop her if she insisted on staying.

He was going to play the role of a drunkard who molests Chantelle while she’s looking for Stephanie.

Daniel turned out to have some talent. The moment he got into character, all his usual noble attitude disappeared. He didn’t even need a costume change to look like an ordinary, clumsy drunk.

Stephanie was stunned. Was this really her proud, dignified father?

Chantelle watched Daniel stagger toward her with a sly grin. The sight stunned her. Fear shot through her when he lifted her chin and forced her to look into his eyes.

She reminded herself she had to act like an ordinary, shy woman.

The scene was short, but she couldn’t handle the teasing tone in his voice. He added extra lines and exaggerated his actions until her face turned red.
