Mr. Hawthorne, Your Wife Wants a Divorce Again-Chapter 1050: Once Your Wife Is Gone, She’s Really Gone
This time, quite a few people were invited to the Aquamarine Group’s product launch, most of whom were prominent figures in the industry, so media reporters were arranged on the other side to prevent disturbing these bigwigs.
Ann Vaughn entered with her invitation, intending to casually find a seat and wait for the end of the launch, but little did she know she’d be constantly approached along the way.
"I heard President Vaughn’s clinic has launched new products that are very popular among women. I need to learn a thing or two from you, President Vaughn."
"Could President Vaughn spare a few boxes of Ice Skin Pill? If you agree, our company’s mall counters will prioritize Vaughn Clinic’s products."
"As if no one else has a few malls; if you can, so can I. If President Vaughn shares with me, not only will the counters prioritize your products, but we’ll also advertise the Ice Skin Pill for free in the malls!"
"To be honest, President Vaughn, before I left, my wife told me that either I come home with the Ice Skin Pill or not come home at all. Just think of it as doing a good deed..."
For a few boxes of Ice Skin Pill, these bigshots seemed willing to forego their dignity.
After all, dignity can be regained, but once the wife is gone, she’s truly gone :).
At first, Ann Vaughn truly didn’t realize that these seemingly serious and proper bigshots were so henpecked in private; it was quite disillusioning.
"President Vaughn, I’m willing to pay ten times the price for your Ice Skin Pill. Five boxes...no, even just one box would do." Just after seeing off those bigwigs, Ann’s arm was grabbed by someone.
Ann turned her head, staring at the woman in sunglasses for a while before saying, "Your dull complexion is due to the buildup of toxins in your body. Internal adjustment is what’s needed; simply taking Ice Skin Pill only treats the symptoms, not the root cause."
The woman was stunned for a moment, then her eyes widened upon realizing the implication of Ann’s words.
"I have toxins in my body?!"
"Yes, judging from your complexion, it’s been about two months," Ann said, looking at the corners of her lips tinged with blood, "The toxins have reached your lungs. Have you been feeling chest tightness and shortness of breath lately, coughing and wheezing at night?"
There wasn’t a hint of inaccuracy in her words.
The woman even suspected Ann Vaughn had been secretly watching her, but dismissed the thought considering her profession. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"President Vaughn...Dr. Vaughn, you surely have a solution, right?"
Ann nodded slightly, "Avoid foods related to beans in the coming days. I’ll prescribe you some medicine. Drink it for three days to expel the toxins from your body."
"Thank you, Dr. Vaughn, thank you so much!" The woman thanked her repeatedly, feeling extremely fortunate.
It was lucky she came today, otherwise she might never have realized she’d been poisoned!
After receiving the prescription Ann handed her, the woman immediately took out a bank card and handed it to Ann, "Dr. Vaughn, there’s not much money on this, please don’t mind."
Ann didn’t mind either; after all, it was just a simple gesture on her part.
"Another thing I’d like to trouble you with," the woman hesitated for a moment before continuing, "Actually, the Ice Skin Pill isn’t for me. My sister has some skin issues, and I heard it not only whitens but also softens skin, so I wanted to buy it for her to try."
Ann had already opened a few back doors, so she didn’t mind opening one more. She gave her Sherry’s private number.
"Thank you, Dr. Vaughn! You’re truly a kind-hearted beauty, meeting you is wonderful!" The woman beamed with joy, showering her with praises.
Everyone loves to hear nice words, especially sincere ones.
Ann couldn’t help but smile, her eyes curving gently.
"Bang—"
Suddenly, a figure crashed into her, stepping hard on Ann’s white sneakers and grinding it in!
The person most likely did it on purpose; they left right after without giving Ann a chance to retaliate.
Ann’s expression changed, frowning as she looked at the person.
"What are you looking at? Blaming others for bumping into you when you’re blind, huh? Who do you think you are, you filthy woman?"
The person turned around, cursing a few lines, then glared at Ann with jealousy and walked off.
"That person must be sick, didn’t take his meds this morning, huh?" The woman glared at the burly man, then looked at Ann with concern, "Dr. Vaughn, are you okay? Let me help you sit for a while."
"Thank you." Having been stepped on painfully just now, Ann’s voice involuntarily softened.
"That was Chase Tate, the head of Artiface Cosmetics, known in the industry for being ruthless. He’s relied on schemes to reach his position," the woman said with concern as she watched Ann’s calm expression, "Should I stay here with you?"
Though Chase has a bad reputation, the Artiface behind him is not to be underestimated, otherwise, he wouldn’t have been invited today.
And Ann looked delicate and fragile, vulnerable to bullying.
Ann shook her head, "No need, thank you for your kindness, I’m fine."
The woman didn’t insist seeing her firm stance, taking her things and leaving.
The product launch started not long after, with the Aquamarine Group’s general manager eloquently speaking on stage for a full half-hour before moving on to the next segment.
Just then, a commotion suddenly arose at the long table in the front row.
The Aquamarine general manager casually glanced over, planning to look away, but his expression suddenly changed.
Only Ann stood by the long table, making her particularly conspicuous.
More noticeable was her misty blue long dress soaked in hot tea, with visible white steam rising from it.
Ann held her skirt in one hand, her head slightly lowered, revealing a swan-like neck, her beautiful face showing no emotion.
Next to her, Chase Tate was all smug, still mocking cold-heartedly.
"Isn’t it embarrassing, President Vaughn? Can’t even drink a cup of tea without spilling it all over yourself. If you can’t handle even this, you might as well stay home and be a trophy wife."
"Probably got carried away by a small profit recently, believing all those silly things netizens say, thinking your products are the best in the world, unmatched by anyone. There are plenty of people better than you, young people should be more down-to-earth."
There were constant whispers around, but Chase didn’t mind, his smug face creasing with arrogance as he looked at Ann.
With young women like her, who haven’t experienced the hardships of life, he could make ten of them cry with a single breath, scaring them back home to drink milk without daring to show themselves again.
Does that little Vaughn Clinic dare to compete with his company?
Can she even win the competition?
Splash—
The sound of splashing water startled everyone with the scene before them.
