Mr. Sterling, Mrs. Sterling is Multifaceted!-Chapter 307: Private Amusement Park
In the past, she was extremely cautious not to let others discover her identity as someone from Veridian Isle.
Now, she could only be cautious, unable to step out of this place, unable to let others know she was still alive.
Isn’t this just like living as a rat in the dark sewers, where even sunlight is unreachable?
Hearing this, Nanny Lynch was extremely embarrassed and hastily retorted, "Miss, you’re overthinking it. The sunshine and scenery here are wonderful; where is it dark? As long as you like it, I can buy it for you."
After saying this, Nanny Lynch wished she could slap herself.
What was she even saying? Wasn’t she implying that Miss couldn’t even personally buy the things she liked?
"That cuts to the heart."
Seraphina Redgrave smiled gently, appearing calm on the surface, even able to say something like "cuts to the heart," as if she didn’t care at all. But if you looked closely, you could see the bitterness hidden beneath her gentle smile.
Nanny Lynch carefully observed Seraphina’s expression, pondering how to comfort her, when she suddenly thought of something and pulled a postcard from her pocket, "Miss, that person sent this again."
Seraphina reached out to take it; it was a postcard without any words.
Ever since Hector Shaw left that day, he sent a postcard every day, without a single word, only pictures.
Yesterday’s picture was a landscape of the entire Veridian Isle, and today’s was an oil painting previously done by Old Master Chandler.
Hector wanted to tell Seraphina through this method that she could never forget every single tree and plant on Veridian Isle, nor the people she endured hardships with for two years.
Seraphina lowered her eyes, quietly looking at these postcards. Old Master Chandler had his arms broken and eyes gouged out; when she was with him, he always liked to boss her around. The old lady used to complain when things didn’t go her way. Who knows if with such a temper, she is still alive on Veridian Isle, all alone.
After looking for a while, she handed the postcards back to Nanny Lynch, "Just like before."
"Don’t worry, Miss, I’ll hide them well and not let Young Master Sterling find out." Nanny Lynch put away the postcards and curiously asked, "Who is this person who keeps sending you these? I don’t know what his intention is."
"As time goes by, his hope will die out, and by then, he won’t send them anymore."
Seraphina thought that after some time, Hector might become utterly disappointed in her, leave here, return to the south, and continue to make waves there.
"What are you talking about?"
A pleasant voice came through.
Seraphina turned her head to see a man in loungewear walking over. Ethan Sterling had his hands in his pockets, the loose loungewear giving him a lazy appearance.
His condition now was visibly much better than before, with much of the bloodshot in his eyes receding, no longer looking terrifying as if stained with blood. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
Seeing him come over, Seraphina curved her lips into a smile.
Nanny Lynch took the cue and nodded as she withdrew.
Ethan walked over to her and embraced her from behind, gently sniffing the fragrance of her hair, looking at the painting on the white paper in front of her, which depicted a distant landscape.
"Did you sleep well?"
Seraphina asked softly.
"Yes, but when I opened my eyes, you weren’t there." Ethan frowned, "Your shoulder hasn’t healed yet, why are you here painting?"
"Just bored, painting something to pass the time."
Seraphina replied.
"Bored? Come with me, let me show you something interesting."
Ethan took her hand and led her outside.
Passing by the mansion’s central towering tombstones, Ethan stopped, looking at the tombstone wrapped in white silk, somewhat helpless, "Do I really have to wait until I’m healed to see it? I’m a bit impatient."
In the first few days after arriving, Ethan really wanted to see what gift she had prepared, but Seraphina said it could only be seen once he was fully healed.
When he came to pay respects to his mother and sister, he saw the tombstones covered and knew she must have prepared something on them, perhaps painted something beautiful... but what it was exactly, he didn’t know, becoming increasingly curious.
"Yes."
Seraphina answered, not considering his curiosity at all.
He was really too reckless, at this rate who knows how long it would take for his condition to get better, so to make him behave, Seraphina had to use this method, hoping he would get better sooner by resting obediently.
"But I want to see." Ethan pointed to the two tombstones, "Moreover, you’re always covering my mother and sister with this cloth; they won’t be happy without sunlight."
Seraphina responded, "So when you fall asleep, I will uncover the cloth to let them breathe. They also said they want to see a healthy you, not one covered in wounds."
Since you want to see so much, you should hurry up and get well.
"Can you communicate with spirits?"
Ethan raised an eyebrow.
Seraphina retorted, "Weren’t you the one first?"
"..."
This young lady was becoming more and more eloquent.
Ethan raised his hand to ruffle her hair, "Alright, alright, I’ll listen to you. My illness will be gone by tomorrow."
"Really? I don’t believe it; I’ll have to see Dr. Goodwin’s report first."
Seraphina reached up to smooth her hair and then was pulled along by him, "Where are we going?"
"Just follow me."
Ethan held her hand, leading her out of the mansion, through the forest, and further ahead was the place where she and Hector last met.
Seeing Ethan still heading in that direction, she became a little worried, wondering if Ethan found out about Hector’s plan to take her to the south.
As she was thinking this, Ethan pushed aside a layer of leaves, and when Seraphina looked up, both the stream and lawn had disappeared.
In front of a towering cliff was a large expanse of flat land, vast and seemingly endless.
It was adorned with colorful lights, and even during the day, its brilliance was evident. An extraordinarily luxurious carousel appeared right before her, and in the distance, there were bumper car fields, flying chairs, and a giant swing...
It was clearly a private amusement park.
Romantic music came from all directions as the carousel started to move in tune, the horses rising and falling, and the soothing music made one feel as though enveloped in an oil painting.
"What’s this?" Seraphina asked Ethan, puzzled.
He smiled, "Time is a bit tight now, so I’ve only built these for you. After a while, the Ferris wheel, pirate ship, and everything else can be added for you."
Ethan pointed to the vacant area in the distance, "I’ve already bought out all the land nearby. Whatever you like, I’ll build for you—museums, zoos, restaurants, anything."
Seraphina looked at his deep eyes, still not quite understanding, "What are you trying to do?"
