Mr. Sterling, Mrs. Sterling is Multifaceted!-Chapter 317: He Truly Cares About Her
The person curled up on the ground clutching his stomach, his head had also struck the hardwood beside him, leaving him dazed for quite a while. He looked up pitifully at Ethan Sterling, trembling with fear at the murderous expression on Ethan’s face, "N-no, it wasn’t me, it was the young lady who said there’s no need for anesthesia."
"..."
Ethan hadn’t expected such an answer; he looked with much incomprehension at Seraphina Redgrave sitting to the side.
She sat there, her face pale as paper, yet her gaze remained calm, "Yes, I said it."
"Why."
Ethan stared fixedly at her.
How painful it must be, why would she choose to endure it herself?
"..."
She only thought that she wanted to remember this moment forever, remember that she hadn’t completed her plan, that she felt sorry for those still waiting for her on Veridian Isle.
Seraphina looked at Ethan’s icy face, exhaled a breath, and with a smile said, "I thought it wouldn’t hurt much, but it turned out to be so painful. I think anesthesia is necessary after all."
Fine, since he said so, they might as well use anesthesia, otherwise, he would end up thinking too much.
"..."
The staff member on the ground was on the verge of tears, was this lady just playing with him?
Ethan approached her, seeing her wrist still dripping fresh blood, forming a small pool on the ground drop by drop.
He found the sight of the red blood harsh, and in a gentle voice said, "Why put on a brave face, haven’t you done that enough on Veridian Isle?"
Why doesn’t she know to let down her guard when by his side?
"Alright, I won’t act tough anymore."
Seraphina smiled faintly.
"When I’m not around, you’d surely misbehave again."
Ethan ruffled her hair, then sat down on the armrest beside her, stretching out his arms to embrace her.
In the end, Seraphina obediently allowed herself to be anesthetized, watching wide-eyed as something that had followed her for two years was removed without feeling any pain.
Without the handcuffs, her wrist was a bloody mess.
Ethan frowned deeply, looking at her wrist with heartache, placing his hand close to her mouth, "If it hurts, bite me, don’t hold back."
"I’ve had anesthesia, it doesn’t hurt a bit."
Seraphina snuggled obediently in his arms.
Dr. Goodwin, waiting on the side, hurriedly stepped forward to clean her wound, wrapping her wrist in white gauze.
The staff carefully placed the removed electronic handcuffs into a wooden box, handing it with both hands to Ethan.
"Nathan, keep it safe."
Seraphina ordered.
"Why keep this?" she asked puzzled.
Hadn’t he previously wished there was no trace of Veridian Isle left on her?
"Just keep it."
Ethan didn’t give a reason, only instructed Nathan to store the item safely.
The things she couldn’t part with, he also couldn’t wantonly destroy.
Seraphina truly couldn’t understand some of his ideas, no matter how hard she thought, she couldn’t come up with an answer.
Miles Harrington stood on the stairs, smacking his lips, silently lamenting, he really does cherish her, unwilling to even destroy a shattered handcuff, no wonder he’s willing to give everything for her.
Guess it can only be like this.
This Z country is probably going to change, let it change then, he can’t stop it anyway.
...
The next day.
Sunlight filtered through the milky white curtains onto the clothes, the rustling sound of leaves swaying in the wind sounding like beautiful music.
On the very wide bed, Seraphina was forced to inch backwards by the man in front of her until her back leaned against the headboard, his dense kisses sweeping over her like a storm.
Ethan was still in his loungewear, the buttons on his collar undone a few making the half-revealed look even more alluring.
His Adam’s apple moved up and down, every breath carried with it the scent of desire.
Ethan kissed her tender lips thoroughly, his movements languid and lingering, making it impossible to escape. His voice hoarse and low, "Seraphina, does the wound on your left shoulder still hurt? I’m finding it hard to hold back."
Watching the meat right in front of him every day yet unable to eat it had been truly unbearable these past days.
"Ethan, you need to stop."
He said softly, every time it was like this, kissing until things got out of hand.
The ancestors had said, it takes a hundred days to heal tendon and bone injuries, he didn’t care at all, hopping around everywhere these days, even wanting to do that with her.
Seraphina broke free from his embrace, reached out to open the bedside table, and took out a thick book, "Ethan, I just borrowed a book from Nanny Lynch, let’s read it together."
Ethan, unsatisfied and quite irritated, glanced at the book cover, only to see the prominent words printed on it——
The Great Compassion Mantra
"..."
Ethan’s face instantly turned as black as the bottom of a pot, vengefully biting her lip, he asked in a husky voice, "You’re really something, wanting me to read the Great Compassion Mantra, hoping I’ll head to a monastery to eat vegetarian and recite Buddhist scriptures?"
Not a chance, he only eats meat.
"What? Can’t ordinary people read this? It’s such a good book, it helps cultivate the body and mind. I think it suits you quite well."
Seraphina analyzed with him seriously, at least it might stop him from wanting vigorous activity at any time and place.
"With you in front of me, even reciting the Great Compassion Mantra a hundred times won’t help."
Ethan looked at the little woman in front of him, finally giving up like a deflated balloon, irritably leaving the bed, he said fiercely, "Fine, seeing but not eating like this all the time, I’ll eventually be suffocated, I’m going to the company."
"!"
Hearing this, Seraphina abruptly sat up, "How can that be? You should be resting, you can’t overexert yourself."
"Though I’m lying in bed every day, without being able to make love to you, I’ll really end up getting other illnesses."
Ethan spoke quite bluntly, he turned around, reached to directly take off his loose loungewear, revealing his broad back and narrow waist, it was extremely seductive.
The elastic waistband of his pants wasn’t tightened, making it slightly loose, adding the scent of male hormones even more. If one ignored the injuries on his body, his physique was undoubtedly the best looking in the world.
Ethan stepped towards the clothes rack, took down a black silk shirt, and put it on, meticulously fastening each button.
The white bandage on his forefinger was even more striking.
"You really must go?" Seraphina expressed some disapproval.
"Can’t bear to part with me?" Ethan curved his lips, smiling roguishly, "I’ll be back tonight, but if you decide to engage in some vigorous activity with me, you can tell me, and I’ll come back early."
"..."
If this person didn’t talk dirty, she’d feel something was wrong with him.
Seraphina felt somewhat helpless, watching him dress, she reminded, "Be sure to mind your injuries, don’t move around too much, let Nathan handle the big and small matters at the company, don’t overexert yourself."
Currently, the most important thing was for his injuries to heal.
