Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 749: Do You Like My Mom
Even though Arthur Sutton had his back to Janelle Tollman and the children, he could almost be certain that after Noah said those words, both Janelle and the children’s eyes were on his side.
Just as he was anticipating the child would recognize him and run toward him, he heard Wayne Archer’s voice: "If Noah likes it, Uncle will go over there and buy one for you, okay?"
Arthur Sutton could confirm that Wayne Archer had definitely recognized him, which is why he intentionally wanted to use this method to take the kid away.
So, Arthur Sutton lowered his head to look at his watch, seemingly like someone waiting in the crowd or searching for someone, then turned around to look around.
As expected, his daughter was the best, spotting him at a glance: "It’s Uncle Sutton!"
Hearing this, Arthur Sutton saw his daughter happily run toward him: "Uncle, why are you here too?"
Janelle followed closely behind the child, seemingly afraid her daughter would cause trouble for others, gently pulled her daughter slightly closer to her, and then politely smiled and greeted Arthur Sutton: "Mr. Sutton, you’re here too?"
Arthur Sutton also showed a surprised expression of coincidence, replied, "What a coincidence, Miss Tollman, you brought the kids here to play too."
Janelle looked around, seemingly not seeing anyone else by Arthur Sutton’s side, and casually asked, "Are you also here with kids?"
Arthur Sutton smiled faintly and explained, "I’m not married yet. I’m here with my sister and her family."
Janelle, holding Noah’s hand, smiled and said, "Oh, Audrey, she came to order lots of perfumes a while ago."
Arthur Sutton: "Ordered them as New Year’s gifts for her friends."
Noah stood obediently next to Janelle, looking up at the balloon in Arthur Sutton’s hand and said, "Uncle, your balloon is so cute."
Arthur Sutton crouched down, handed the string to Noah, and said, "If you like it, Uncle will give it to you."
Noah obviously liked it but didn’t reach out to take it directly, instead looking up at Janelle.
Janelle chuckled lightly and said, "If you like it, Mom will go over there and buy you one."
Arthur Sutton quickly said, "It’s okay. I just thought it was interesting and planned to buy it for my little nephew, but he’s still young and can’t play with it. If Noah likes it, you can have it."
Saying that, Arthur Sutton gently tied the string around Noah’s hand.
Noah held the balloon and smiled sweetly: "Thank you, Uncle."
Arthur Sutton rubbed Noah’s head and looked up at Dominic Tollman standing aside, asking him, "What do you like? Uncle will buy it for you."
Dominic Tollman shook his head, looking at Arthur Sutton with a strange expression, as if secretly sizing him up. It was always like this whenever they met.
Arthur Sutton always felt this kid was hiding something in his heart, unlike Promise Tollman, who was easier to get along with.
Wayne Archer, the only one who knew the backstory, smiled gently and said, "There are still a lot of things we haven’t played yet, let’s hurry over."
Noah turned to Wayne Archer and said, "I want to play bumper cars!"
Janelle looked down and chuckled, "Mom can’t drive, let Uncle Archer take you to play."
Noah held Dominic Tollman’s hand and said, "I want to play with my brother."
Janelle asked, "Then, how about Uncle Archer plays a round with you first, then plays with your brother?"
Noah pouted unhappily and explained, "I want to bump cars with my brother."
Arthur Sutton said, "I’ll take Chase then, I’m not doing anything anyway."
Noah immediately clapped her hands happily: "Then let’s go!"
Janelle watched as Noah pulled Wayne Archer in the direction of the bumper cars, and she glanced at Arthur Sutton apologetically: "I’m sorry, causing you trouble."
Arthur Sutton withdrew the hostile look from Wayne Archer and replied with a smile to Janelle, "We’re here to have fun, there’s no trouble at all."
Janelle bent down and said to Dominic Tollman: "Listen to Uncle, won’t you?"
Dominic Tollman nodded, again giving Arthur Sutton a meaningful look.
At the bumper car track, after putting on protective equipment, Arthur Sutton took Dominic Tollman into a car.
Janelle stood at the edge of the track holding the Winnie the Pooh helium balloon, watching the two kids with a gentle smile: "Be careful and have fun."
Arthur Sutton really had no experience with taking care of kids, and naturally no experience with these amusement rides.
When he got in the car, he fumbled for a while, the car swaying as if it wouldn’t listen, causing Dominic Tollman to scorn: "Let me drive."
Arthur Sutton felt a bit embarrassed, watching Wayne Archer with Promise Tollman, while Noah’s laughter never stopped.
However, he was also thankful he took this kid instead; otherwise, he might have made a fool of himself in front of Noah.
Arthur Sutton watched as his son skillfully maneuvered the steering wheel, sitting beside him, he thought for a moment and asked, "Do you not like Uncle?"
Dominic Tollman turned to look at Arthur Sutton, then steered the car directly toward Promise Tollman’s car, crashing into it heavily, making Promise Tollman’s laughter more hearty.
After the two cars collided and drove in opposite directions, Dominic Tollman finally answered Arthur Sutton’s previous question, "Because you’re strange."
Arthur Sutton frowned in confusion, asking, "How am I strange?"
Dominic Tollman said, "You always follow my mom around but don’t do anything bad. Isn’t that strange?"
Arthur Sutton: "..."
He had thought his whereabouts were quite secret, never realizing this kid knew all along.
Dominic Tollman continued, "Do you like my mom?"
Arthur Sutton was taken aback again. It seemed this kid understood quite a lot. He then asked, "Does your mom like this Uncle Archer?"
Dominic Tollman shook his head: "Uncle Archer likes my mom, but my mom rejected him."
Arthur Sutton smiled with satisfaction and asked, "Do you think your mom would like me?"
Dominic Tollman said, "You really are strange. You should ask my mom that question, but my mom isn’t easy to pursue, and you haven’t even gotten past me yet. Winning over my mom is a long shot."
Hearing this young child’s mature language, Arthur Sutton couldn’t help but chuckle and watched Dominic Tollman turn around to bump into Promise Tollman’s car again.
"Bad brother!"
Only then did Dominic Tollman’s face show a rare smile, clearly indicating the kid enjoyed this game quite a bit.
Arthur Sutton ended up being an adult led by the child, marking his first time playing with his own child. He increasingly felt he owed the mother and her three children so much and wanted to clear things up as soon as possible, fulfilling the role of a husband and father to make up for what he had missed over the years.
Seeing Dominic Tollman in a good mood after playing the game, Arthur Sutton asked, "So, what does Uncle need to do to pass your test?"
Dominic Tollman, driving the car, said, "You... you look okay, first and foremost, you have to be good to my mom, my sister, and me, take good care of my mom, and importantly, we all have to like you."
