Chapter 805: Chapter 805: I Dreamed You Cheated on Me

It was past three in the afternoon when Audrey Sutton woke up from her nap.

She woke up because of a strange dream.

In her dream, Shane Warner was being led away by a woman whose face was obscured. She kept calling out Shane’s name, but he left with the woman without looking back, disappearing from her sight.

The dream ended there, and Audrey woke up startled.

Upon realizing it was just a dream, she still felt a lingering sense of unease.

The afternoon sunlight streamed in through the bedroom window, and looking outside revealed a field full of spring’s promise.

She glanced sideways at the bed, where Anna was still sleeping soundly on her back, but the spot where Shane should have been was empty.

Thinking of the dream, Audrey jumped up nervously from the bed, only to find Shane sitting at the desk beside the bed, typing on his laptop as if working.

Audrey breathed a sigh of relief. Shane, without turning his head, heard her movements and asked softly, "Awake?"

Audrey didn’t reply, instead getting up and stepping barefoot onto the carpeted floor, making her way to Shane’s side.

Shane turned to look at her as Audrey took hold of his arm, snuggled into his embrace, and sat on his lap, pulling his hands around her.

Rarely did Audrey act so forward, and Shane couldn’t help but chuckle, tightening his hold on her, and nuzzled his head into her neck, asking softly, "What’s wrong?"

Audrey pursed her lips, still caught up in the emotions from her dream, and muttered, "I dreamt you cheated on me."

Shane lightly knocked her on the head, "You dream up all sorts of nonsense because you overthink all day."

Audrey frowned, "I had similar dreams when we first got married, but after I was pregnant with Anna, I didn’t dream about it again. This random dream now makes me feel like it’s a bad omen, like a warning."

Shane looked at her with indulgence, "Do you believe in that unrealistic dream or in me?"

Audrey nuzzled her head into his chest, responding with a huff, "Just make sure you’re careful, don’t let those vixens fool you."

Listening to Audrey’s inexplicable words, Shane lightly patted her butt with a laugh, "Wake up the boy, if he naps longer, he won’t sleep tonight."

"If you wake him up now, he’ll cry for ages. You do it, I’ll change."

After Audrey got up, Shane closed his laptop and walked to the bed, reminding Audrey, "It’s going to be cold tonight; dress warmly."

Audrey replied, "Okay, I’ll bring a jacket."

When Shane wakes up Anna, he doesn’t whisper sweetly by the child’s ear like Audrey, saying, "Baby, wake up~ Mommy’s taking you out to play~"

He directly picked up the still sleeping Anna, who blinked in confusion for a couple of seconds before pouting and crying.

After putting a hat on Anna, Shane carried the child out of the car.

While Audrey was changing, she could still hear Anna crying outside the car.

If this little guy doesn’t wake up naturally, he’ll fuss for at least half an hour if disturbed.

Even if he stops crying, he’ll still be sulking for that half hour.

Audrey prepared a jacket for both herself and the child, and when she stepped out of the car, she saw Shane holding Anna by the car door, waiting for her.

Though Anna had stopped crying, his face was still tear-stained, and he lay on Shane’s shoulder looking grumpy.

Audrey laughed as she got out of the car, waving a rattle that Anna liked to play with in front of him, "Anna, look at Mommy here!"

Anna glanced at her but was utterly uninterested, turning his head away.

Standing by Shane, Audrey adjusted the hat on Anna’s head and asked Shane, "Doesn’t his grumpy face look just like yours?"

Shane frowned, rolling his eyes at her.

Audrey gently pinched Anna’s cheek, teasing, "At least he’s chubby and cute; you’re not cute with your perpetual scowl."

Just as she said that, Anna, seemingly upset by the pinch, puckered his lips again.

Before the child could wail, Audrey hurriedly shook the rattle, soothing him, "I’m sorry, I’m sorry, our Anna is the best, right? A little man shouldn’t cry so much~"

Shane, carrying Anna, started walking towards the tent set up, "Just ignore him for now, he’ll be fine in a bit."

Audrey walked alongside Shane, asking, "What if I ignore you when you’re upset?"

Shane replied confidently, "I’m me, he’s him. It’s just his wake-up grumpiness; he’ll get over it soon."

Audrey muttered, "Double standards."

When they reached the campsite, Norman Sutton and the others had caught a bucketful of crabs and were heading over.

Norman took out a crab and put it on the ground to amuse Anna, who sat expressionless in Shane’s arms watching.

Soon, he became interested in the crab, squirming out of Shane’s grasp to get to the ground.

Shane bent down, supported Anna under the arms, and placed him on the ground.

Audrey quickly warned, "Be careful not to pinch the child."

Most kids would be curious about unfamiliar things but would instinctively back away when seeing a crab crawl over.

Yet, Anna reached for the crab without a second thought, but fortunately, Shane swiftly pulled Anna back a safe distance.

Barry Barrett laughed, teasing, "This kid sure is gutsy! Like a calf that’s not afraid of tigers, getting pinched will teach him!"

"Hey!" Anna let out an excited sound, staring at the crab on the ground with his mouth open, soon drooling onto the floor.

Norman moved away in disgust, "Audrey, look at your son, how gross!"

Audrey nonchalantly took a tissue from her bag, walked over to wipe Anna’s drool, and said to Norman, "Weren’t you the same at his age?"

The next second, the crab crawled over to where Anna’s drool had fallen, and Norman grimaced even more, "This crab is yours; I don’t want it!"

Sitting aside, Scott Sutton couldn’t help but comment to Norman, "You used to lick your snot when you were little; our Anna is much more hygienic."

When Norman heard this, he quickly glanced at Lana Holloway and retorted to Scott, "Nonsense! I never did that!"

Audrey laughed triumphantly, "There are photos in the family album, you haven’t seen them, have you? I’ll ask mom to send some pictures over!"

Norman glared at Audrey fiercely, "Then I’ll send out your naked baby photos!"
