Chapter 2768 Lament of the Moon (1)

The sea fog is constantly invading inland with the strong wind, and the ghostly floating clouds are wet and cold. It seems that the souls who lost their lives at sea are touching everything they can touch with their wet hands.

Even if the coachman didn’t say anything, I realized that I couldn’t go back today. The villagers who passed by took us to the only hotel, which looked very pitiful. But after the long journey my body was jealous and exhausted and I longed for sleep, so I checked in with my luggage and that of Mr Mitiash.

I figured maybe he'd come back and at least give his belongings back to his family, though he never mentioned any of them.

The situation in the hotel was much better than I expected. There was a worker in a short-sleeved shirt eating supper at the table, and the proprietress was a strong middle-aged woman with a garlic wreath on her head.

Women have a maternal side in their nature, which makes them sensitive to our restlessness, as if we were the sobbing baby in their arms.

Mrs. Harker was very sympathetic to what happened to me. She took me to a small room on the second floor. There was only a bed covered with clean white sheets and a washbasin, but it was enough for me.

   "Just wait a moment."

said Mrs Harker just as I was about to end this dreadful day.

Then she came to my room with a man of medium build, strong build, broad chest, the collar of his pajamas pulled close to his throat, and his brown hair was a little messy. He seemed to be awakened from sleep.

"This is Dr. Van Helsing." Mrs. Harker introduced us. "I think you need his help."

I didn't want to talk to him, my mind was very confused by the horrible experience, but because Mrs. Harker was too kind, I had to overcome my fear and tell him that I might need sleeping pills to sleep.

"Please forgive my presumptuousness." Van Helsing said, "You don't look like you have encountered a vampire."

After he finished speaking, he left, leaving me still immersed in this new mystery.

"What are you looking at?" Sirius asked.

"Vampire hunter." Pomona said with a smirk. "Van Helsing is actually a doctor."

  James looked at her strangely.

"I thought you were not interested in that book," Sirius said.

“Just for fun,” says Pomona, carrying it in a crossbody bag.

"Do you think Van Helsing would hunt werewolves?" Remus smiled wearily.

“It seemed like he was only interested in vampires,” Pomona said.

Then on the way, she continued to tell Remus about the plot in the book.

"I" really need sleep, I never liked garlic before, but now smelling the smell of garlic, I feel so full of peace and joy, I fell asleep quickly.

I slept until the sun was up, and I got better. Just as I was sitting on the bed and racking my brains, there was a sudden noise, the sound of horses' hoofs stepping on the rocky road in the yard downstairs and the sound of wheels rolling by. . Excitedly, I rushed to the window and saw two large carriages coming in, each drawn by four strong horses, and a groom sitting in each carriage. Beside the carriage were riders in wide-brimmed hats and high boots, with guns on their backs.

I rushed to the door and went downstairs to meet them because I thought they were coming for me.

"We need fifty boxes of dirt for our experiments," the Coast Guardsman told me, kindly telling me that he was only there to receive the boxes, and that they were doing nothing but "the tedious work of moving boxes." Not responsible.

I felt so weak that I didn't have the strength to be shocked and angry at what happened.

I went back to the room on the second floor, slept on the bed, and kept thinking about how to fill up the fifty boxes of soil. Then there was a knock on the door without warning, and Dr. Van Helsing came in. He changed his pajamas, The shirt was still buttoned up to the throat, and a white silk handkerchief was in the coat pocket.

"We must discuss what to do," said Dr. Van Helsing, looking very serious.

I don't want to trust this stranger, but I also have a "big order" of 50 boxes of dirt, and there seems to be no reason for me to refuse this kind of unsolicited help.

"Do you smoke?" said Dr. Van Helsing.

I understood his hint, got up and went out, followed him to the garden to smoke.

Talking about it, I learned that he also has a friend, Dr. Self, who went to treat a patient who was suffering from flesh-eating disease.

It made me lose my appetite, even though those London roast cat meat should have been digested long ago.

"Your blood looks pure," said Dr. Van Helsing, his voice natural and direct.

I can only smile wryly at him.

Of course I could fill those 50 boxes with dirt from the "middle ground", but if I really want to solve the problem, I still have to go to the castle. Dr. Self is willing to guide us, he is a local.

A year or two ago, this place was not what it is now. At that time, the scenery was beautiful and there were many tourists. Until a group of young nobles from outside, they teamed up to explore the castle of Rice.

There was a girl named Lucy, she disappeared in the castle for two days, when people found her, she was sleeping in the forest, she looked like she was tired from walking, her lips were slightly parted, breathing very softly, when someone approached her Immediately stretched out her hand from her sleep. According to the person who was caught, she seemed to have the power of a ghost.

But she slowly opened her eyes in her sleep, she flinched slightly, but still did not let herself lose her elegance, people took Lucy back to the village.

Self examined her, and she was fine except for a silk handkerchief tied around her neck.

"This is the one." Dr. Van Helsing took off the handkerchief from his jacket pocket, and when he spread it out, I found that there were mottled blood on it.

I asked Dr. Van Helsing if she was bitten by a vampire, but his answer surprised me. At least three people gave their blood because of their "love".

No one knew why Lucy was left alone. Anyway, since then, the atmosphere in the village has not been peaceful, and livestock disappeared every once in a while.

"Don't mention the word 'drink'." Dr. Van Helsing said, "Vampires hate lower life forms, and they prefer to grab higher life forms."

this means…

   "Dragon's blood." Remus said.

"As far as I know, dragon's blood is as magical as wizard's blood," says Pomona. "It's no wonder Romania has so many vampires."

"We're here." Sirius said, and the conversation between Pomona and Remus also stopped.

"I hate cleaning," James said in disgust, with Peter standing behind him, looking terrified.

Sirius used his magic wand to attract the bronze butterfly, let it fall on the mirror frame, and when the mirror revealed the secret passage behind, they went to the room full of large wardrobes.

They used to belong to witches. This can be judged from the few remaining clothes in the closet that have not completely decayed. The rest either turned to ashes or disappeared without a trace.

"But I remember that there were vampires in Romania before the dragon sanctuary was established." Remus said, "You just said that, like vampires are attracted to dragons."

"Why don't you just turn into a werewolf." Pomona looked at the big wardrobes and said, smashing them is much easier than moving them out.

  Remus didn't speak.

"I'm sorry." She immediately realized that she had said the wrong thing.

"How about getting you a dollhouse?" Sirius said with a smile, using the Shrinking Charm to turn a large wardrobe into the size of a palm, the kind used in dollhouses.

She didn't express any objection, who told her to say the wrong thing just now.

So they shrank those wardrobes one by one, and emptied more than half of the space, leaving only dozens of boxes.
