Lin Yu and Shen Jingqi exchanged glances, determination flashing in their eyes. Taking advantage of the brief distraction caused by Li Baiyu's powerful attack, they charged forward like arrows released from a bow. Lin Yu, agile and swift, leapt to the monster's left side, his sword gleaming with a cold light as he stabbed fiercely at the monster's leg joint. The monster sensed the danger and let out a deafening roar, swinging its thick leg with a gust of wind. Lin Yu felt a massive force hitting him, sending him flying uncontrollably.

"Lin Yu!" Shen Jingqi shouted, his heart tightening at the sight. Disregarding his own safety, he drew a dagger from his waist as he rushed at the monster, striking at it fiercely. Enraged by Shen Jingqi's surprise attack, the monster swung its massive claws at him. Shen Jingqi nimbly dodged, avoiding the deadly blow, but the monster's claws grazed his shoulder.

Li Baiyu saw her companions in peril and frowned deeply, quickly forming seals with her hands and chanting incantations. Instantly, a brilliant light burst from her hands, transforming into a beam that shot straight at the monster. The monster, caught off guard by the sudden assault, staggered slightly. Lin Yu steadied himself and charged again, seizing the moment he leapt high, plunging his sword with the force of wind into the monster. The monster, in pain, let out a piercing scream and frantically twisted its body, trying to throw Lin Yu off.

Shen Jingqi charged again. He circled to the monster's back and, with all his might, drove the dagger deep into the creature. The monster, unable to bear the assault, began to tremble. Seizing the chance, Li Baiyu launched another attack, pushing her hands forward, unleashing a powerful energy wave at the monster. Under their combined assault, the monster roared one last time before crashing to the ground in a cloud of dust.

The three collapsed to the ground, breathing heavily.

Lin Yu had a gash on his face from stones kicked up by the monster's claws; Li Baiyu's hair was disheveled, her face pale as paper, clearly showing the toll of her attack. Yet, victory smiles appeared on their faces, tinged with exhaustion and relief at having survived.

"Finally... we took care of the monster," Lin Yu said weakly, his voice raspy as if every word required his full strength. Lying on the ground, staring at the sky, his gaze relaxed briefly but soon turned vigilant again. Deep down, he knew the forest was fraught with danger, and this monster was likely just the beginning.

Shen Jingqi nodded, "But we can't relax; there are still the black-clothed men and the mysterious organization plotting against us." His voice was deep and firm, eyes gleaming with determination. He recalled their previous encounter with the black-clothed men—secretive, ruthless, and plotting unspeakable schemes. Was this monster sent by them to hinder us? The thought filled Shen Jingqi with unease.

Li Baiyu got to her feet, albeit weakly, but her eyes showed resilience. She dusted herself off and said, "Indeed, we must quickly find our other companions and unveil the crystal ball's secret." Recalling the news about the crystal ball, it was said to possess immense power, and the mysterious organization sought it to fulfill their ambitions. If we don't find the crystal ball soon and stop them, the consequences could be unimaginable.

Lin Yu struggled to sit up and looked at Li Baiyu and Shen Jingqi, saying, "Let's rest for a while and then continue. However, we must be cautious; who knows how many more dangers lurk in this forest." His heart was filled with worry, uncertain of what lay ahead. Stronger monsters or traps set by the black-clothed men?

After resting a bit and regaining some strength, the trio continued deeper into the forest. A faint mist enveloped the area, blurring the view. The tall, dense trees with interwoven branches blocked most sunlight, making the forest especially eerie. At times, a cold wind rustled through, causing the leaves to rustle as if something was secretly watching them.

"Why is the forest so quiet? It feels odd," Lin Yu whispered, gripping his sword tightly and scrutinizing the surroundings. His heartbeat quickened, an ominous feeling rising within.

Shen Jingqi frowned, saying, "I find it strange too. In such a vast forest, there should be plenty of animals, yet we haven't even seen a single bird." His eyes showed vigilance, knowing such unusual silence often heralded greater danger.

Li Baiyu paused, closed her eyes, and sensed the environment. After a while, she opened her eyes, looking more serious. "I sense a powerful energy fluctuation nearby." Her words tightened Lin Yu and Shen Jingqi's hearts, aware that this likely meant a stronger enemy awaited.

Suddenly, a low roar emanated from the woods, seemingly from the depths of Hell, sending shivers down their spines. Lin Yu, Shen Jingqi, and Li Baiyu stood back-to-back, watching their surroundings warily. As the roar grew nearer, a massive figure emerged from the woods—a beast even larger than the previous monster, its body covered in thick scales glistening in the dim light. Its eyes gleamed red, exuding ferocity and cruelty. Its claws were razor-sharp, seemingly able to effortlessly tear everything apart.

"What... What is this?" Lin Yu asked fearfully, his voice trembling. He had never seen such a terrifying beast, his heart filled with dread.

Shen Jingqi took a deep breath, trying to remain calm. "No matter what it is, we have to fight." His gaze revealed resolve, knowing there was no retreat.

Li Baiyu formed seals again, preparing to attack. "Be careful everyone; this beast is no ordinary creature." Though her voice was calm, the tension was evident. She could tell this beast emitted stronger energy than the previous monster.
