Multiversal Friendship System-Chapter 249 - 248 – Multifunctional Rice Cooker
Chapter 249 - 248 – Multifunctional Rice Cooker
"It's Fyu-Neru, not a rice cooker."
Inori looked quietly into Souta's eyes as she corrected him.
Her voice was slightly louder than usual. Clearly, the mechanical pet meant a lot to her, and she didn't want it to be misunderstood.
"Got it."
Souta wasn't going to argue with her, even if, to him, it still looked exactly like a rice cooker with legs.
"It should still be at the bottom of the river," he said, while releasing his spiritual senses. "Let me find it for you."
It was nighttime outside, and the riverbed was pitch black.
But in the view of his spiritual perception, lack of light wasn't a problem—an image of the river bottom appeared in his mind.
After about a minute, he located the white rice-cooker-shaped device and, with a sliver of divine power, teleported it into his hand.
He could have used more divine power to instantly summon it without even searching...
But that would've cost seven to eight times more power.
Souta was lazy, not stupid. No need to be wasteful.
"Fyu-Neru." Inori's eyes lit up. "Thank you."
"No problem. Just a small favor. But... this really is future tech, huh. After getting knocked around and soaked for so long, it's still kicking."
Souta watched with surprise as the rice cooker squirmed in his hand, its mechanical legs twitching as if it were alive.
Was it AI-controlled?
He set it on the table. The legs began wiggling, and its wheels spun as it rolled toward Inori.
She picked it up and pressed some button, he didn't see which, and the lid popped open, revealing a compact inner compartment.
And you say it's not a rice cooker?
Inori didn't notice Souta's subtly amused expression, her attention was entirely on what was inside.
It was the Void Genome, encased in a translucent, rod-shaped container.
A device capable of granting the "Power of Kings," allowing the user to read the genetic code of others and manifest their inner essence as physical objects—Void weapons, gear, or tools.
Seeing it safe and intact, Inori visibly relaxed. "The Void Genome..."
Souta gave it another glance, a mischievous thought rising in his mind.
What would happen if he used his matter-creation powers to mass-produce this thing and handed it out to everyone?
Would people just start pulling Voids out of each other like loot boxes?
The original story never actually said it had to be used by a specific person to awaken the Power of Kings.
Inori should be able to use it herself, right?
"...The key..."
Inori carefully inspected the Void Genome. The container was still intact.
Souta asked casually:
"By the way, how many people are in Funeral Parlor?"
"Hm?" Inori looked at him, puzzled by the question.
"I did mention I'm a god, right?"
Souta didn't beat around the bush. He got straight to the point:
"I want to build a religion in your world, one based on belief in a god. If your Funeral Parlor group is large enough, using it as the foundation to spread influence wouldn't be a bad idea. But the name will need some adjusting."
Inori's expression was blank and a little dazed, like she was trying to process his words.
"How do you know about Funeral Parlor?"
After a pause, she asked seriously:
"And how do you know about the key?"
If he was from another world, why did he know so much about hers?
Souta shook the system phone. "If you'd read the group announcement, you wouldn't be asking. Just think of it this way... As a god, I can see your past and future."
Which, technically, was true, though it did cost a lot of divine power.
"The future..." Inori's eyes widened slightly, and then she asked:
"What about Gai... Did he succeed?"
"You could say that," Souta replied. "But Gai's goals weren't exactly what you thought."
He pointed at the Void Genome and said:
"He gave that thing to someone else. After a chain of events, GHQ's influence in Japan was dismantled. Funeral Parlor achieved its mission, but... there were a lot of casualties."
Inori fell silent, her eyes downcast.
Hearing about the deaths clearly stirred something in her.
Souta continued:
"Of course, that's what would have happened in your original timeline. If I intervene, the outcome can be very different."
He raised a finger and said:
"My goal is simple: believers. I want to form a religion for virus-infected humans to believe in. I might need your group's help to make it happen. In return, I can provide you all with power. But first, I need to see how large your organization is."
"I need to contact Gai."
Inori said suddenly.
She couldn't make this decision alone.
And the whole "religion" talk... most of it went over her head anyway.
"No problem." Souta nodded.
Inori quickly began operating or rather, asking her rice cooker for help.
Souta's expression turned even more complex. Was this mechanical pet... too freaky? fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
It could fight, carry gear, possibly house AI, and now it could make phone calls?
Come to think of it, that fingerprint lock at Shu's house was hacked by this rice cooker, too.
It was basically a bundle of black-market sci-fi tech.
Just as Souta was mulling over its absurd capabilities, his system phone vibrated.
He opened it and saw someone complaining in the group chat, it was Chelsea.
Chelsea: Souta's too much! I was presiding over morning court, and he teleported me to his place. Said a few words and then left me there. I had to calm the whole palace down, told them it was a divine summons... took forever!
Altair: Hmm? You're already the Empress?
Chelsea: Yeah, became one about a month ago.
Rin Tohsaka: ...
Rin Tohsaka: Wow. We've even got an Empress in this group.
Illya: @Chelsea Where's Big Brother? Where'd he go?
Chelsea: He went back to the real world. Said he had something urgent to handle.
Rin Tohsaka: @Souta, did something happen?
Chelsea: What could possibly happen? I bet he's off chasing skirts again.
Apparently being dragged out of morning court and thrown around had left Chelsea a bit salty.
She started roasting Souta without holding back.
Chelsea: You all don't know this, but Souta's private life here is a total mess. I'm ashamed to be associated with him!
Rin Tohsaka: His private life... is a mess?
Seeing that, Souta immediately panicked.
Chelsea was trying to stir things up!
He stopped pretending to be AFK and quickly typed up two messages to explain himself.
