MY 10,000× DIMENSIONAL SYSTEM-Chapter 158: Annihilation Insight
Annihilation Insight
’Hm?’ Christopher beheaded a creature that seemed to be made entirely of ice crystals.
Despite taking its head off, it still lunged at him without a care, and its head slowly grew back.
’Troublesome.’ He noted as his blade flashed and the creature was diced into pieces.
Despite that, though, it somehow pieced itself back together and attacked Christopher again.
’The heck?’ Christopher arched a brow behind his mask but just sliced it apart again and observed it as it started to reassemble itself.
’I thought it had a core somewhere that I could destroy, but I’ve done everything else. Hm.’ He pondered for a moment before snapping his fingers.
The creature halted before getting masked into the ground with horrific force as gravity became its enemy.
The creature cracked and exploded into ice dust. But even with that, it started to piece itself back together.
’Talk about vitality. Do I need to leave nothing left?’ Christopher debated within his mind.
He hadn’t come across a creature like this before, and he was very interested in its capabilities. Granted, Christopher hadn’t used any of his main abilities to put it down and was relying on his more ’mundane abilities to see if he could deal with it. But save for eviscerating it and leaving nothing else with a destructive element, he was at a loss on how to proceed.
’I could always just sever its link to reality. That would be fun to see, but that also defeats the purpose of finding a less over-the-top way of defeating it. That said, Scarlet should work just fine, no?’After all. The sword excelled at destroying things. This should be right up its alley.
Christopher didn’t bother hiding his thoughts, but the response he got surprised him.
Usually, anytime he expressed his desire to use Scarlet, he’d feel a wave of excitement as the sword was drawn to fulfill its purpose, to destroy.
That’s how it had been from the beginning. Yet, the feedback he was receiving from it right now was different.
There was excitement, but it felt... subdued. Not the same powerful wave that Christopher was used to, but it felt suppressed, the reason being that there was another emotion that was pushing the excitement to the side.
Anticipation.
’What could he be anticipating? Me drawing him? But what’s different between now and the last time I drew him? What’s he waiting for?’ Christopher thought with confusion and a touch of amusement. If there was one thing he enjoyed, it was seeing his weapons, and people express themselves freely.
With a shake of his head, Christopher blew a hole in the creature that had lunged at him again, which sent it flying, then he calmly drew Scarlet and prepared to use another elemental fusion that he hadn’t used before.
Christopher’s go-to style was to use elemental fusions and multiply his base damage as well as augment himself. With the various elements as well as their various uses, the number of combinations and possible transformations he could generate was endless. Though he found himself constantly gravitating to fire.
He planned on having a primary secondary style for a plan he had in the future, which was easy enough to develop with all the means at his disposal, and he intended to use it as much as he used elemental fusions.
However, he was distracted from all these thoughts as the moment he drew Scarlet, something strange happened.
In an instant, his vision completely shifted.
One moment, the world appeared the same as always. Though from Christopher’s point of view, that normal included being able to see the runes that made up reality, threads that linked beings to said reality, the fourth dimension, and the tapestry of fate which he repaired.
However, that shifted as another strange vision made its way into the mix.
All of a sudden, the world was filled with a network of Vermillion cracks. He was now somehow aware of various faults in... everything, aware of all sorts of unstable connections.
It wasn’t restricted to the ground. He could see it in the wind, space, and even fate itself showed signs of inevitable collapse, as though they were already breaking apart. Find your next adventure on novelbuddy
That wasn’t all, either.
When Christopher focused on any of these cracks, he had a feeling. It was not an intense one. It was more subtle, but it blended so well with the rest of his senses that it felt as though it had always been there.
When he looked at the cracks, he had the feeling that he could break them if he wanted to.
It went beyond conversation "breaking" as well. Christopher felt it. He wasn’t restricted to physical objects. If he wanted to, he could shatter entire concepts. He just needed to perform the action.
It took Christopher a percentage of a microsecond to process everything, and when he did, he turned his attention to the creature that was still lunging towards him.
Before, it just looked like a kaleidoscope of ice and color if one peered at it too much. Now, though, Christopher realized that it was covered in cracks. The cracks were constantly moving and shifting, but they were there nonetheless.
Christopher blinked, and he didn’t even use any of Scarlet’s main abilities. He didn’t coat the blade with annihilation or any other element. At the moment, it was simply a piece of exquisitely forged metal.
However, that was enough.
Christopher calmly stretched the blade forward, and without hesitation, he tapped on the tip of a crack in the creature’s body that seemed like the origin point for most of the other cracks on its body.

The moment he did that, the creature froze and tumbled to the ground. It didn’t tumble far though, as its body had already turned into dust as fine as the snow, and Christopher instinctually knew that the creature was dead.
He stared at the spot where it had turned into dust, and then he slowly looked at Scarlet with wonder.
Now he felt Scarlet’s excitement, as if it had been preparing a big surprise which turned out to be a huge success.
’How is it, Master?’ He asked cheerfully, and Christopher was silent for a moment before replying.
’It’s amazing. But what exactly is it?’ Christopher asked. He could have simply pulled up the system window to check the details, but he felt like hearing it directly from Scarlet. That way, the new ability would be introduced by its creator to him.
’It’s a new skill I created! It’s called Annihilation Insight! In the same way, Norn allows you to perceive fate and interact with it, this allows you to peer into the essence of destruction. Nothing is without flaws, and this allows you to accurately detect these flaws and exploit them. And when I say nothing is without flaws, I mean NOTHING. With this ability, the weaknesses of everything, whether they be physical things, magic, armor, people, fortresses, concepts, or even fate itself! Everything has a weak point that can be exploited, you just need to exploit them!’ When Scarlet finished his excited rant, Christopher had two thoughts.
’What sort of unfairly broken ability is this???’ He couldn’t help but be stunned.
The fact that Scarlet so casually created a skill without the aid of the system... wasn’t overly surprising considering his grade. But the fact that the skill he so casually made was so unfairly overpowered was genuinely mind-blowing.
’Why are three of my primary... no four of my primary abilities related to my eyes anyway?’ He sighed. That was his second thought.
’Though, why did you create this skill in the first place?’ Christopher couldn’t help but be curious, he knew that it must have had something to do with whatever conversation he and Norn had.
Christopher had indeed been aware of the conversation, but he couldn’t be bothered to pay it any mind as he wasn’t in the habit of eavesdropping on his soul weapons. If he was curious, he’d have just inserted himself. Not like they could tell him no.
Besides not particularly caring about what they had been talking about at the time, he also wasn’t a fan of just intruding.
But now, he was extremely curious as to what they had been talking about.
Scarlet hesitated for a moment, then he told Christopher everything about how he was frustrated that Christopher wasn’t using him more and how he wanted the distinction of a weapon to fade away and simply be recognized as a part of Christopher’s power that he wielded freely.
Many people would find such an idea odd as most sentient beings wouldn’t exactly like to be used so much that they weren’t even a tool anymore and were just considered a part of someone.
But for soul weapons, that made perfect sense. They only bound themselves to those who they believed to be perfect for them, and when that happened, they had perfect loyalty and to them, dying to protect their master was just a part of the job.
To them, their self-worth depended on how useful they were to their master. If they couldn’t manage that, then they were worthless.
While Scarlet hadn’t gotten to that point, he was feeling more and more unneeded, which started to become an insecurity that bred the desire to be made use of more until he was seen as more than a tool.
When he explained all of this to Christopher, he blinked and felt guilt in his heart.
’Scarlet is the first weapon I got since I entered this world. I should treat him better.’ Christopher felt like he’d been doing a decent job. But it seemed there were still things he overlooked.
