MY 10,000× DIMENSIONAL SYSTEM-Chapter 192: Sating His Curiosity
Sating His Curiosity
Christopher sighed as he thought back to how he handled the situation. He frowned behind his mask as he remembered that deep and all-consuming anger in his heart. The fact that it happened so spontaneously and the fact that he could do nothing about it except vent wasn't something he liked.
He was determined to find the root of the problem when everything was dealt with.
Speaking of, he had this odd feeling that things were starting to reach a close. He had no reason for this, nor did he have any proof, but he felt in his gut that things were about to reach their climax. Similar to when his inevitable clash with the Void drew close, he just had a feeling that things were about to reach their final point.
What that meant? He wasn't too sure.
He thought back to his army and his subordinates. They had spent a little over two months in this place, and while there were some incidents, there wasn't anything he or his people couldn't handle.
Moreover, in addition to the clones that he had spread out, the fortresses would also bring in large amounts of territory for the Primordial Expanse. It wasn't explained how it would do this in the past, but essentially, the farther out a soldier went from the fortress, the more ground the fortress would absorb when it was inevitably returned to the Dimension.
Moreover, this quality is applied in a unique way. Basically, if a soldier walked in a single direction for about 100 meters, the fortress would translate that to the soldier having traversed a hundred meters in every direction, up and down included.
The fortress that had the least amount of distance covered was Lenax's fortress, and that's only because they spent more time fighting than they did exploring as their positioning was truly perilous. But even then, they had covered a few thousand miles in total.
Christopher couldn't help but ponder on the size of the hidden realm. Before the issue with the fortresses being brought somewhere was raised, he placed each one a few million miles away from each other, but that was just in the outer area of the hidden realm.
The realm was flat, so everyone could see extremely far as there was no curvature to account for, but even Christopher couldn't see all the way to the end.
After a while, Christopher judged that the hidden realm was a few light years in diameter. Diameter because he was certain that while the hidden realm was flat, it was still in the shape of a disc since the blizzard spread out in a circular pattern and reached the end of the hidden realm at the same time across the realm.
As for its underground region, Christopher decided to call it the 'Frozen Abyss'.
In the end, his curiosity got the better of him and he sent a clone to investigate and see what lay at the bottom of the hidden realm. What he discovered was an impossibly vast and dark cavern that stretched for the entirety of the hidden realm's size which housed abominations and eldritch horrors beyond human comprehension.
He realized the creatures that the soldiers at Kim's stronghold were actually countless fragments of a much larger creature that was climbing out of the depths. The creature was a large mass of flesh that seemed to be attracted to the large supply of high quality souls, and besides its fragments, it's massive body was slowly climbing out of the depths to reach them itself.
Christopher was both appalled as well as morbidly fascinated by the creature, both because he wondered how it came to be and because he thought it's abilities were quite interesting. So he kidnapped... gently pushed it into his Dimension.
Turns out, the thing was a Shoggoth, and after it was taken into his Dimension and enhanced, it transformed into an 'Elder Thing', and surprisingly, it settled on the moon that had the most equilibrium of Mana and Void energy.
Having a vague idea of where its evolution was going, Christopher decided to focus on other things.
Another thing he was curious about was the sky of the place. The hidden realm didn't have a day and night cycle, but it still seemed to have a sort of artificial 'sun' that provided light.
Christopher didn't bother flying up or anything, he had a suspicion and used his Runic Insight to look up, and true to his suspicions. The 'sky' of the hidden realm was one massive and incredibly complex formation made with countless runes.
He was tempted to see what would happen if he unraveled it, but was hit by a sudden bout of disinterest. That's not because of some strange force working behind the scenes, he genuinely just lost interest and carried on.
Moving on, Christopher had long completed the requirements to upgrade his Dimension again. In fact, there was now a large world of ice the also orbit the moon, creating a sort of triangle of celestial bodies.
The phenomenon made Christopher realize something interesting. It was his choice to make another world of ice as he didn't want Edenveil to be more frost than anything else, but he also worried as despite it being another celestial body, it still fell under the jurisdiction of creation. But to his surprise, when he added it, Nihilheim had a growth spurt! And its size increased to match the combined presence of Edenveil and the frost world which Christopher aptly called Glacera.
The system then informed him that to maintain balance, whenever Edenveil or Nihilheim grew, the other would grow in response. So if Nihilheim suddenly received a massive influx of Void and grew bigger than Edenveil, Edenveil would grow to compensate.
Christopher asked where the Dimension was getting the resources to account for this balancing act, and the System explained that it would automatically pull whatever resources it needed from either side of the spectrum to allow for this.
This made Christopher indignant, because in that case, the Dimension could do everything on its own. To this, the System replied that this was only viable because Christopher possessed the passive Dimensional Growth skill, which immediately shut him up.
But this made Christopher ponder how he wanted to develop the structure of his Dimension. He was fully committed to taking in the entire Hidden Realm. But its size dwarfed Edenveil and Nihilheim by a lot.
If he did, then Nihilheim was bound to grow to a similar size, but what about the main planet that was Edenveil?
'I'll deal with that when it happens. That's why Dimensional Management is a thing isn't it?' Christopher shrugged.
His small group reached the next barrier, but Christopher didn't step in. Instead, he turned to Azure and Prism.
"We won't go in yet. I want to upgrade the Dimension first, so you know the drill." Azure blinked, not at all knowing the drill, but Prism's eyes gleamed.

At the same time, Christopher transmitted a similar message to every single one of his subordinates.
Within all the strongholds, the various vassal clans watched as every single member of the Genesis Corps, regardless of their rank or strength, froze and their eyes glazed over.
It was barely a second that this happened, but watching all of them do it at the exact same time without exception was creepy. Then all of them showed varying reactions of joy or glee.
The vassals were baffled. So far the soldiers, despite being calm overall, were exceptionally disciplined and serious, not allowing anything to perturbed them asthey accomplished their tasks with clinical precision.
So the sudden break in character was jarring. But if they knew the reason, they wouldn't be so off put.
After all, this meant that they would all be enhanced once more and undergo a qualitative change that surpassed conventional strengthening. And sure there would be some pain, but they were all but used to it at this point.

Silver who was in his wolf form and licking his wounds froze as he heard the message and his tail wagged a little. He had a feeling that this excursion would soon be coming to an end, and that would mean being able to regroup with everyone again.
He missed being next to Kim, moreover, despite his fierce demeanor, he wasn't ashamed to call himself Christopher's pet, and he hadn't had his head patted by him for a while, which he was also looking forward to such treatment again.

"Master is still very busy it seems." Belladonna mumbled to herself as she idly played with her Vermillion Reapers. She still looked a bit pale after enduring the scream of the Warden, after all, just like Umbra and virtually everyone else in her cohort, she had been outside the barrier to fight against the entities directly, so she hadn't had a chance to protect herself.
Still, she had mostly healed by now.
"Ah, Master, I miss you." She hugged herself and rolled around on her bed with a dreamy expression on her face.
