My Beast Evolution System-Chapter 47. Dark Vermin

The next morning, Aaron and his team entered a massive central chamber, their footsteps echoing loudly in the silence.

Also, the air was so thick with miasma that dark crystalline shards could be seen jutting out of the ground.

At the far end of the chamber, in a corner, everyone could see a massive demonic beast feasting on a large magical beast with dozens of smaller demonic beasts feasting on it as well, however, the large beast seemed a bit different from the other ones.

Unlike the little demons, the colossal beast had a grotesque form with sharp claws, fangs, and wings as well.

Although it was called a vermin just like the other smaller beasts around it, the colossal vermin’s wings made it look like a mutated hybrid of a rodent with bat wings. Also, it had crimson-colored eyes that were locked onto Aaron and the girls.

The little demonic beasts bared their teeth as they slowly approached Aaron and his team.

Seeing this, Aaron swiftly drew his sword, Diana did the same, and Aurora tightened her grip on the staff she was holding as well.

"I’ll be taking the front," Diana spoke first and Aaron nodded in understanding before turning towards Aurora. "Your Highness, we’ll need as many long-range spells as possible."

The elf princess clutched her staff tightly and replied. "I’ll try my best."

Glimmer growled while Thunder stumped his feet in anticipation of what was about to occur. Aaron noticed the look on the faces of his team and his lips widened into a smile. "Let’s end this," He muttered before charging forward with the others following right behind him.

The colossal beast roared and unleashed a dark pulse that sent shockwaves of miasma throughout the chamber.

The moment Aurora noticed this, she swiftly cast a spell to prevent Aaron and the others from getting hurt.

Their bodies began to glow with a golden hue and the large amount of miasma in the air couldn’t harm them even as it washed over them.

The small demonic beasts darted forward, in a hurry to engage in a surprise attack that could help them win the battle. But Glimmer was the first to spot them and she hurriedly ignited herself in flames before releasing a large barrage of fireballs onto the smaller beasts. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

A loud cry of agony filled the entire chamber, but only a few beasts were hurt by the blast, so Thunder activated {Charge Aura} before launching several lightning bolts that destroyed the remaining demonic beasts.

With the little ones taken care of, Aaron and Diana rushed straight toward the colossal vermin before aiming their attacks at its exposed flanks.

The large beast cried out loudly before swinging its hands and slashing at them with its claws at a super fast speed, but they both managed to avoid the strikes with their swords which were now ringing after they deflected its attack.

"It’s strong," Diana grunted.

"Yes, it is, but we won’t lose this fight."

"Glimmer, Thunder, now!!" Aaron shouted and activated his {Dual Strike} skill, allowing both Glimmer and Thunder to know exactly what Aaron needed them to do.

The two beasts swiftly darted towards the large beast and Glimmer activated her {Inferno Strike} skill to send a wave of fire straight at the beast’s chest. The impact also sent a wave of fire across the chamber and it scorched some of the dark crystals as well.

The colossal vermin roared with rage, but it noticed Aaron and Diana closing in on it to land a finishing strike, so it swiftly unleashed several shadow-like tendrils that instantly wrapped around Aaron and his team.

The tendrils looked like they had no form and couldn’t be touched with one’s hand, but they certainly had the elasticity and firmness to ensnare anyone within their grasp.

Aaron and the girls tried their best to free themselves from the shadow tendrils but no matter how hard they tried, their efforts were futile.

Meanwhile, the colossal beast sensed its chance to strike back, so it immediately aimed for the target closest to it, and that happened to be Glimmer.

Just like Aaron and everyone else, Glimmer also got caught by the dark tendril, as it coiled around her body and prevented her from moving.

The large vermin leaped high above the ground, with a claw aiming straight for Glimmer, but just before the large beast could get close to her, a huge shard of ice sprouted out of the ground and moved to impale the huge beast, but it swiftly turned midair to evade the attack.

The colossal beast looked around in search of who had tried to kill it, but it couldn’t see anyone nearby. However, to its surprise, it suddenly heard a deafening howl, which was made by the Frost fang, and the ground turned frozen.

The colossal beast’s feet got frozen and so did the tendrils that had trapped Aaron and the girls. But now that they were frozen, several cracks began to appear on the frozen tendrils before they finally collapsed to the ground to give Aaron and the girls a chance to fight back.

Thunder and Glimmer swiftly used their chance to aim a fireball and a thunderbolt at the huge beast, but it managed to evade the two attacks. However, the huge demonic creature was unable to escape from the two large ice spears that fell from the sky and impaled it to the ground.

Aaron and Diana noticed this and swiftly held their weapons tightly before dashing straight toward the beast.

Glimmer and Aurora aimed countless fireballs and fire arrows at the beast, while Thunder and the Frostfang aimed countless lightning bolts and ice spears straight at the creature as well.

The large beast let out a loud, deafening roar the moment it started feeling the effects of all the combined attacks of everyone around it. It finally died the moment Aaron and Diana dug their swords straight into its skull.
