My Cell Prison-Chapter 1168 - 1167: The Infiltrator
Chapter 1168: Chapter 1167: The Infiltrator
"Void"
An extremely rare attribute that transcends conventional space.
It cannot be acquired through learning; to obtain the Void Attribute, an individual must come into contact with the Void in some way, and it cannot be passed on to the next generation through inheritance.
In the vast and boundless super world, there are only a small amount of hard-to-reach Void Regions.
The discovery and exploration of the "Void Realm" relied entirely on a special Upper Old King who was unique even among his peers at the same level... His contributions surpassed those of any other Old King.
For pioneering the Void and creating the doors to the Void, He was also known as "The Key of Door."
Even so, only a very few individuals could pass through "The Door" to truly touch the Void... The reasons are too complex, resulting in the extreme rarity of demons with Void Ability.
That is why when Han Dong displayed his Void Ability, the onlookers were more or less astounded.
...
At present.
An Outsider named "Pope," who recognized the "Void Mark" on the other side of the City Wall, was also surprised... He indeed had a close connection with the Void and knew a lot about the ’inner circle’ affairs.
He had never heard of a demon with a Void Attribute existing in London City.
"Could it be a student banished by a teacher? No... Individuals cast into the Void are forbidden to come to this main planet. No matter how sophisticated their stealth technique, they would be discovered by the Unnamed Fog that permeates the main planet.
Moreover, with several Old Kings watching over London now, a Void banishee, no matter how audacious, wouldn’t dare to come here."
As his suspicion grew, Pope became more determined to sneak in and have a look.
"Can we get in?" asked the tall companion.
"Getting in is no problem, the Void also has levels... The Void Mark set up here belongs to a basic type, mixed with more common spatial barriers.
Follow me."
The two turned into a dark alleyway.
Several old books hanging from Pope began to flip through, and a semi-transparent finger extended from his robe, through the skin of which one could even see intricate, starlight-like blood vessel lines, far exceeding the complexity of ordinary demon machinery... It was like a perfect lifeform from the cosmos.
The star-like fingers slid along the surface of the wall, indeed constructing a door that was both illusory and solid at once.
Simultaneously.
The taller demon grew colorful Tentacles from his robe that adhered to both himself and Pope, causing their cloaks to take on a colorful hue and placing them in an undetectable state of invisibility.
On the other side of the White Door was a "Sub-city" in its final stages of development.
Tap~
Stepping through the White Door, they unexpectedly landed on a lawn.
The grass beneath their feet was a bright red color, each blade continuously releasing a kind of "crimson pollen."
"Blood Brew? How did it get mixed up with the Blood Ancestors again..."
Looking up at the trees not far away, there perched a Crowman on a branch.
Different from the common Crowman. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel-com
Crowmen usually lean towards Black Magic, with frail and stooped bodies.
But the Crowman sitting on the branch before them looked as if he’d been to a gym, with very strong limbs, and even had something akin to the Ghoul’s gelatinous skin and sharp claws... And the Crowman’s eyes emitted a sharp red light, as if he had consumed a certain purity of Blood Brew.
"Mixed City?"
Due to his special nature, Pope had visited hundreds of different Demon City forces, including a type known as Mixed City... Home to all types of demons living together in one City for some reason, resulting in the appearance of some crossbreeds.
Leaving the lawn, they slowly ventured deeper into the Sub-city along the smooth stone path.
The sights they encountered along the way even made them doubt whether this was still London City; this affiliate City resembled a small town that clung to London but was completely unrelated.
Various forms of architecture sat here, and besides the Crowmen first encountered, there were also Blood Descendants, Ghouls, and even a group of Deep-Sea Fishmen living around the lake, leading a self-sufficient life.
The ongoing construction was being handled by a group of "Mechanical Ghouls."
These Ghouls had larger bodies and more intricate bodies... about 30% to 60% of their bodies were replaced with machinery and equipped with steam power sources, granting them more delicate control and additional strength.
"Hyde, have you ever seen such a Demon City?" the taller one, named Hyde, inquired.
"I’ve never seen one... very strange.
Furthermore, these individuals feel different from common demons to me, as if they’ve undergone foreign modifications. Especially the "Ghouls," whose mechanical modifications aren’t entirely from Demon Technology.
There must be an underground laboratory here; my Tentacles have already detected the subsurface space."
"Alright... then let’s go underground and have a look.
Perhaps, just as you said, London has captured many intruders, and the purpose of building this Sub-city is to research the technology of the intruders and apply it to the demons.
Such things should be strictly forbidden, right?"
"Let’s go take a look first."
The shorter one, Pope, continued to use his Void Ability, his feet lightly touching the ground.
He easily brought Hyde to the upper levels of the Underground Laboratory.
The passageway was constructed with black rock from London City.
Various conduits were arranged orderly and buried among the black rock, and a series of precise and biotechnologically designed Ghoul cultivation chambers were evenly embedded in the surface of the walls.
The hundred-meter-long passageway housed roughly 80 cultivation pods.
And such passageways spanned the Underground Area, with the laboratory area split vertically into several layers... a preliminary estimate put the number of cultivation pods at at least five thousand and upward.
Deeper down, beyond the passageways, were some internal laboratories where other Demon body research was underway.
Pope and Hyde, one responsible for Void Transportation and the other for Illusionary Concealment,
marveled at the scale of the underground experimental area and the content of their research as they probed deeper.
After passing the lowermost passageway, they finally arrived at the core experimental area.
A Demon clad in a white lab coat, with an exposed and somewhat swollen brain, was engaging in deep communication with several ’vegetable-like’ entities through brain nerves.
Hyde exclaimed in shock, "What! How can there be Elder Races here, and several of them at that!?
Is this Demon the person in charge? Strange, what kind of Demon is this? Why isn’t the person in charge one of the Dark Denizens?"
Meanwhile, Pope was absorbed in serious contemplation.
Just as the two were attempting to gather evidence,
a young man with the appearance of a standard human walked out from a compartment, holding a stack of materials he had just finished reading.
Upon seeing the young man,
both the Elder Race and the brain-exposed Demon exhibited a devout posture.
Suddenly, the young man seemed to sense something.
A slight wriggling motion appeared on his forehead, and soon an odd eye opened in the center of his brow... it locked onto the two intruders hidden in the darkness.
"Who’s there!"
The moment the intruders were spotted.
Iron nails sprouted from the young man’s Body, with a clattering sound, a multitude of chains quickly sealed off the core laboratory.
