My CEO Ex: Let Me Go.-Chapter 179
Vivienne’s POV
The woman lowered her head slightly, adjusted her sunglasses with a delicate hand, and flashed a smug smile. “I know. My seat’s in the aisle. I don’t want to sit there. Let’s swap. How much do you want?”
“Hm?” I raised an eyebrow. “Sorry, I’m not swapping seats with you.”
She shot me a sideways glance, her eyes scanning the bag in my hand, and smirked. “That bag can’t be worth more than five thousand. How about I give you five thousand dollars to swap? Don’t forget, these seats cost the same, so that five grand is basically free money for you.”
I adjusted my bag casually, following her gaze. “It’s only worth eight hundred bucks, actually. But like I said, I’m not swapping seats.”
A flash of disdain flickered in her eyes.
“Then how much do you want? Ten thousand?”
“No amount is going to change my mind.”
Her face stiffened, her eyes darkening. “I’ll give you one last chance. Are you sure you want to throw away ten thousand dollars for nothing?”
“I said no. Are you deaf? Keep this up, and I’ll call the flight attendant!” Sophie snapped at her, then turned to me, muttering, “How can someone be so shameless? Dressed to the nines and still no manners whatsoever.”
Hearing Sophie, the woman shot her an angry glare. “Who are you calling shameless? Who’s got no manners? You’re the one with no manners!”
Sophie, unfazed, put her hands on her hips. “I’m talking about you! If you’re so rich, why are you flying economy? Why not just book a first-class seat?”
“Ha! I am rich. The money in my hand is more than the two of you poor souls will ever make in your entire lives. Jealous, are we? If it weren’t for my friend’s mistake, do you think I’d be stuck in this cramped, shabby economy class? I was trying to give you some face, but since you don’t appreciate it, forget it!”
With that, she stormed off, heading straight for the flight attendant to get a first-class upgrade.
Once we were seated, Sophie muttered again, “What’s with her? Just because she’s rich, she thinks she’s something special!”
I casually replied, “Don’t mind her. She’s gone, and now we have more space. It’s perfect.”
Other’s POV
Even after buying a first-class ticket, the woman still couldn’t shake her unease. Standing in the aisle, she glanced at the man sitting across from her and said, “Excuse me, could you let me pass?”
The man didn’t move, simply lifting his gaze to look at her.
It was only then that she noticed his face, and a flicker of awe crossed her eyes.
This was the first time she’d seen a man so handsome!
His brow was strong, his eyes deep-set, his nose straight, and his jawline sharp. His bone structure had a distinctly Western European look, but the features on it were unmistakably Asian.
Every detail of his face—his eyes, nose, lips, chin—was exactly her type.
Quickly, she hid the displeasure from her expression and gave him a soft smile, her long lashes fluttering. “Sorry, hello. Could you please let me pass?”
Only then did the man retract his long legs.
She moved past him and took her seat.
Once she was settled, the man stretched his legs out again.
What had seemed like an obstacle now became one of his most defining features.
She stole a few glances at him, guessing he was at least 6’3".
After she sat down, the man went back to reading his magazine.
She couldn’t help but focus on his hands—pale, slender, and long, with clearly defined joints and faint veins running across the backs of his hands.
She stayed outwardly composed, but inside, she was buzzing with excitement. Even his hands were beautiful!
It had been so long since she’d seen a man who caught her attention like this. If she let this opportunity slip, where would she find another man like him?
As the plane took off and leveled out, her elbow, resting on the armrest, accidentally brushed against the man’s. She quickly apologized, “Sorry.”
“It’s fine,” he replied, his voice low and smooth.
Her heart fluttered. Even his voice was pleasant.
Seizing the opportunity, she tried to make conversation. “Where are you headed?”
“Sydney,” Alexander answered, turning a page of his magazine.
He knew that Vivienne was on this flight, but Vivienne had no idea he was here as well.
In fact, after Vivienne had left that day, he hadn’t boarded the plane right away. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
What a fool—still so naive, not even checking if he’d gotten on the flight!
Frederick had returned to his country, leaving him alone with Vivienne, making it easy for him to stay out of sight.
The woman brightened. “I’m going to Sydney too!”
Alexander didn’t even look up, his attention still fixed on the magazine.
She tried again, “Sorry, could I ask where you’re from?”
Alexander, uninterested in small talk, replied flatly, “Sorry, please don’t disturb me. I’m reading.”
"Okay... sorry," she mumbled.
She watched him intently, feeling more drawn to him with each passing second.
Some men, it only took one word from her, and they were all over her—like annoying flies. But this man—he was confident, yet not arrogant. He wasn’t captivated by her beauty, nor was he trying to flatter her for her wealth. He was a rare find, far superior to the others!
She hadn’t expected to meet someone like him on this trip.
If only she could learn more about him.
A trace of disappointment flashed in her eyes.
After nearly thirty hours of flight, the plane finally touched down at Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport.
Alexander’s POV
I left the plane ahead of Vivienne, taking the first shuttle to the terminal to grab my suitcase.
I spotted my black luggage and pulled it behind me, making sure to stay a step ahead—just in case Vivienne spotted me.
"Hey!" A woman’s voice called from behind me. She quickly caught up, dragging her own suitcase. "Did you book a hotel yet? If not, we could stay at the same one."
"Sorry, I already have one," I replied, keeping my eyes straight ahead, my face giving nothing away.
"Which hotel did you book?" she pressed, her voice softer now. "I’m not familiar with this area. Can I follow you to yours?"
I stopped in my tracks and turned to look at her, locking eyes with a serious expression. She instinctively took a step back, glancing up at me. The intensity in my gaze made her quickly avert her eyes.
"No, you can’t. Please stop following me."
She opened her mouth to respond, but when our eyes met again, she fell silent.
I turned and walked away, leaving her standing there, watching my retreating figure.
