My Computer Leads to an Instance Dungeon-Chapter 111 - 96: Brutally Killing the Abnormal Ghost
Once Fang Zhen had a firm grasp of the battle and its timing, his panic vanished completely.
His Spirit was steady, as were his hands. Without changing his stance, he drew the crossbow, loaded a Hunting Arrow, and took aim.
The Abnormal Ghost was less than twenty meters away.
Fang Zhen pulled the trigger.
The Hunting Arrow flew out. The Abnormal Ghost ran almost prone, its center of gravity extremely low. The arrow struck it squarely in the back, near the spine.
"HOWL!"
The Abnormal Ghost let out a miserable howl. The shot sent it tumbling, its charge slowing abruptly as it rolled twice across the ground.
The Abnormal Ghost appeared grievously wounded. It couldn't resume its charge and even struggled to get back on its feet.
'The spine and the head are its weak points.'
Just now, Fang Zhen had triggered a critical hit.
He had originally intended to aim for the heart, but a sudden flash of inspiration had caused his aim to shift by a few inches.
The Abnormal Ghost had dodged just in time, instinctively avoiding a Crossbow Arrow that would have pierced its skull. However, the arrow had still partially penetrated its spine.
Fang Zhen drew the string and loaded a Crossbow Arrow, his movements rock-solid.
Just as he finished loading the arrow, the other Abnormal Ghost—the one he'd shot through the right side of its chest—overtook its grievously wounded companion.
The Hunting Arrow shot out.
Another wretched howl echoed from the Abnormal Ghost. The Crossbow Arrow entered the monster's back and exited from beneath its ribs, nearly pinning it to the ground.
Fang Zhen leaned the Hunting Crossbow back against his Jue Ying motorcycle.
Fang Zhen calmly twisted the metal hook on the front of the motorcycle and detached his spear.
At this distance, there was no time for another shot.
He gripped the spear with both hands. A thrill of excitement and tension ran through him—he could feel the adrenaline starting to pump.
While his body was excited, his mind was remarkably clear.
Fang Zhen felt the pressure from the two Abnormal Ghosts. They were a threat, yes, but not a fatal one. Merely a threat.
One Abnormal Ghost's spine had been partially pierced, affecting its nervous system; it moved as if partially paralyzed, one side of its body clearly no longer obeying its commands. The other had two Crossbow Arrows run through it, from its right chest to its ribs, and was already critically wounded.
Fang Zhen was confident. The two Abnormal Ghosts had lost at least half their mobility. As long as he made no mistakes, a flawless victory was well within reach.
The Abnormal Ghost impaled with two arrows lunged forward.
Fang Zhen finally got a clear look at where the creature's eyes should have been.
It was a cluster of tiny, dense holes, enough to give anyone trypophobia.
Not only had the Abnormal Ghost's movements slowed, but it was also clearly wary of Fang Zhen.
The creature seemed to have some intelligence, maintaining considerable vigilance toward the human who had already grievously wounded it twice.
The Abnormal Ghost's vitality was astonishing. Despite such severe injuries, it still retained more than half of its offensive capability.
It circled Fang Zhen from just over four meters away, growling low as it crept along the ground, searching for an opening.
Fang Zhen held the spear with both hands, pointing it at the Abnormal Ghost's head.
The stance seemed simple, but backed by his perfectly ingrained basic spear-thrusting technique, Fang Zhen was absolutely certain of his next move.
If the Abnormal Ghost dared to pounce, he was one hundred percent certain he could pierce its brain in mid-air.
The Abnormal Ghost seemed to sense the threat as well and only continued to crawl slowly, not daring to charge.
Just then, the other Abnormal Ghost—the one with the spinal injury—finally struggled back to its feet.
It seemed to hesitate, as if weighing whether to help its companion or retreat.
After a moment's hesitation, the spine-injured Abnormal Ghost let out a howl and charged forward with a limp.
Fang Zhen immediately lunged forward, rapidly closing the distance with the Abnormal Ghost impaled by two arrows.
He would not give the two Abnormal Ghosts a chance to surround him.
Like a striking dragon, the spear shot forward, aimed directly at the Abnormal Ghost's head with no wasted motion.
The Abnormal Ghost apparently hadn't expected such a decisive, proactive strike. It could only turn its head instinctively to the side.
"SQUELCH!"
The spear plunged deep into the Abnormal Ghost's neck!
