My Computer Leads to an Instance Dungeon-Chapter 112 - 97: Killing Skill
Fang Zhen stabbed his spear into the Abnormal Ghost's neck, and the impact felt solid and fleshy.
The Abnormal Ghost's body was incredibly tough. Its muscle and bone density were high, rivaling or even surpassing that of a normal human.
He thrust the spear deeper into the wound on the Abnormal Ghost's neck and gave it a sharp twist.
The Abnormal Ghost shrieked in pain. It tried to bite Fang Zhen's feet, but couldn't reach. It swung its arms, trying to slash him with its Bone Sabers, but still fell short.
The advantages of a long weapon were on full display.
Fang Zhen held the spear firmly with both hands, his stance unwavering and flawless.
After a stalemate of more than three seconds, the Abnormal Ghost lost its strength. It was clearly weakening. Its long arms dragged on the ground, no longer attacking but merely twitching in its death throes.
Spear in hand, Fang Zhen gave it another twist.
The Abnormal Ghost let out a wretched howl as its body went limp. Its strength vanished, leaving it pinned to the ground.
A purplish-blue liquid, completely unlike human blood, sprayed from the Abnormal Ghost's neck.
Fang Zhen kept the Abnormal Ghost pinned with his spear for another two seconds. Feeling he had bled it and drained its strength sufficiently, he abruptly yanked the spear free.
The spear came away from the Abnormal Ghost's neck in a shower of mangled flesh and blood.
He drew the spear back slightly, then thrust again!
This time, the spear plunged straight through the Abnormal Ghost's Skull.
It was a little surprising. The Abnormal Ghost's body was tough, and while its Skull wasn't soft, it was still more brittle compared to a human's.
The spear pierced its brain.
Fang Zhen had a visceral feeling that the Abnormal Ghost was dead.
'A critical hit must have triggered just now.'
Just as he thought, with its head pierced, the Abnormal Ghost instantly lost all its strength. Its body convulsed twice, then lay still like a slab of dead meat.
Fang Zhen pulled his spear free.
He took a moment to assess himself. His stamina consumption hadn't been great.
That was another benefit of having the spear skill: combat consumed far less stamina than it did when he was unskilled.
Efficient and energy-saving.
His gaze swept over to the other Abnormal Ghost, which was limping toward him with an injured spine.
The creature suddenly stopped in its tracks.
It stood frozen for about three seconds, then let out a sharp howl and did something irrational.
The Abnormal Ghost actually turned and fled.
Fang Zhen watched it go, not particularly surprised.
'Abnormal Ghosts aren't intelligent, so much as they possess a simple, beast-like ability to assess strength.'
'They're like primitive reptiles, like crocodiles, with only a few basic responses: fight, flee, or freeze.'
'The fleeing Abnormal Ghost saw me kill its companion and determined it was outmatched and would likely die, so it just ran.'
'These things are strong. A single one could easily kill four or five farmers, but they're still more animal than anything else.'
The proof of the Abnormal Ghost's limited intelligence was that it had completely forgotten about his Hunting Crossbow.
Fang Zhen turned and walked a few steps over to his Jue Ying motorcycle. He leaned the spear against it and picked up his Hunting Crossbow.
He drew the string and loaded an arrow.
He settled into a stable firing stance.
By the time Fang Zhen had completed these actions, the limping Abnormal Ghost had only managed to cover less than twenty meters.
Its spinal injury severely hampered its mobility.
Fang Zhen took his time, calmly taking aim.
Suddenly, his intuition flared. A flicker of insight guided him.
He trusted the feeling and pulled the trigger.
WHOOSH!
The Crossbow Arrow shot out, crossing several dozen meters in an instant and landing squarely in the back of the Abnormal Ghost's neck.
The Hunting Arrow entered through the back of its neck, exited through its throat, and pinned it to the dirt.
The Abnormal Ghost was instantly paralyzed. Its lower body went limp and motionless, like a dead fish.
Fang Zhen stood up and calmly walked toward the Abnormal Ghost.
As he walked, he reloaded the Hunting Crossbow.
Pinned to the ground, the Abnormal Ghost's upper body was still struggling.
Fang Zhen stopped five or six meters away from the creature, raised his Hunting Crossbow, aimed, and fired.
The Hunting Arrow pierced the Abnormal Ghost's head, nailing it to the ground for good.
The Abnormal Ghost's struggles ceased abruptly.
Fang Zhen lowered the Hunting Crossbow and let out a long sigh.
He'd been more tense than he realized; the after-effects of the adrenaline rush were still coursing through him.
Fang Zhen was growing more accustomed to these rapid hormonal surges, gaining more mental fortitude to control them.
'Abnormal Ghosts have decent combat strength.'
'An average person, someone with a physique like my old self, would be no match. Bare-handed, one of these Abnormal Ghosts could take on five to seven ordinary people at once. Their vitality and stamina alone are far beyond what a normal person possesses.'
'But with weapons and skills, the tables could turn.'
Fang Zhen briefly summarized his thoughts.
He took a closer look at the wounds on the Abnormal Ghost's body.
The wounds from the Hunting Arrows were severe, yet in this short amount of time, they already looked as if they were starting to scab over.
'Terrifying vitality and regenerative ability.'
Fang Zhen stretched his body lightly, letting himself come down from his combat-ready state.
He even activated his Guiding Technique. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
Now that the Guiding Technique was solidified, he could activate it directly without hand gestures. Whenever he used the skill, he could visualize a white equilateral triangle, which helped him quickly calm his Spirit and even recover a small amount of stamina.
After activating the Guiding Technique, Fang Zhen stood still for seven or eight seconds until he felt completely recovered.
He opened his eyes and walked back to his Jue Ying motorcycle.
He placed the Hunting Crossbow back in his pack and secured the spear on the metal hook at the front of the bike.
Fang Zhen started the motorcycle and rode over to where the attacked farmer and the teenagers were.
