Chapter 253: Rage Of The Gods

Meanwhile, Thera had seen enough.

Her earlier confusion had burned away entirely, replaced by genuine anger as she watched the black dragon, who had been their guest, who had been sparring peacefully with her brother moments ago, suddenly turn into a rampaging force of destruction.

She floated upward, rising higher into Eden’s sky as amber-colored divine energy erupted around her form like a blazing aura.

Both of her hands stretched outward to her sides, and the earth responded immediately.

Massive boulders tore themselves free from the ground below. Chunks of rock formations, debris from the earlier destruction, all of it began moving toward her.

But Thera wasn’t gathering them to herself.

She was directing them toward Aiden.

"Have you lost your mind, Black Dragon?!" she screamed, as her voice carried across the field mightily.

The rocks surged forward, dozens upon dozens of massive stone pieces hurtling through the air toward the dragon’s position.

Aiden turned his massive head toward the incoming assault and opened his jaws, preparing to incinerate them with another beam.

But the rocks didn’t stop coming.

For every boulder he destroyed, three more took its place. They slammed into him from all sides, piling on top of each other with crushing weight and unstoppable force.

The black dragon thrashed and struggled, his wings beating furiously as he tried to break free, but Thera’s control was absolute.

More rocks formed from the very ground beneath him, rising up to join the growing mass.

The entire pile of earth began lifting off the ground. Slowly at first, then faster.

It was a massive spherical prison of stone and earth with Aiden trapped at its core. The rocks pressed tighter and tighter together, compacting around the dragon’s body until even his struggles seemed muffled beneath the weight.

Thera floated upward alongside her creation, both hands still outstretched as amber energy poured from her palms to maintain the construct’s integrity.

Below, Orion delivered one final, devastating punch to the fractured space prison.

SHATTER.

The Space Lock exploded outward in a shower of invisible fragments.

Orion looked up immediately and watched as Thera’s massive rock prison continued ascending with the black dragon trapped inside.

For just a second, it looked like his sister might have actually succeeded in containing the beast.

Then white light began seeping through the cracks between the stones.

Orion’s eyes widened.

The Oblivion Beam erupted from within the prison, and curved around in all directions.

The concentrated beam of pure destruction tore through Thera’s construct, instantly vaporizing every boulder, every rock and stone that had been holding the dragon in place.

But it didn’t stop there.

The beam extended outward across a good part of Eden’s landscape, and sliced through everything in its path.

A few temples crumbled to dust as the beam passed through their foundations. Housing structures disintegrated in an instant.

Entire sections of Eden’s tiered city simply ceased to exist, replaced by smoking craters.

The destruction spread for kilometers in every direction before finally dissipating.

Thera luckily enough was able to avoid the beam as she had flow right above it to dodge its trajectory.

But now all of her rock built to form a prison had been shattered.

And with the black dragon’s freedom, came a mighty roar that caused a shockwave which pushed both Thera and Orion backward through the air.

The sound echoed across all of Eden, as if he was reestablish some sort of dominance.

But then something changed.

The dragon’s eyes widened slightly, as though in horror. Aiden’s true personality was seeking to gain back control of himself.

The Zero Effect he’d instinctively cast on himself was beginning to work, slowly eroding Myria’s influence over his emotional state.

He could see what he’d just done. The destruction. The devastation.

"No. No no no—"

Deep within his subconscious, Aiden’s true self screamed in denial even as his current dominating personality, the one consumed by hatred, still hungered for more violence.

Orion had seen the destruction too, and there was no sort of excitement in his face this time.

as he looked at the ruins cause by the dragon.

Who knows if a god who couldn’t handle the dragon’s power was affected by all of these?

His expression shifted into extreme fury that radiated from his entire being.

He raised his right hand high above his head.

A bolt of yellow lightning struck down from the skies, except it didn’t dissipate upon contact with Orion’s palm.

Instead, it solidified.

The raw lightning compressed and shaped itself in Orion’s grip until he held a weapon; a javelin made entirely of crackling electrical energy.

The Bolt of Orion. His divine weapon.

"This is no more a contest I implored you for, Black Dragon!" Orion said in anger.

His free hand began forming a seal, positioning themselves in a specific configuration. He was going to use his law.

Then, there was this little hesitation.

Thera felt it too. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

Multiple presences approaching fast, and both she and Orion turned towards their direction.

Dozens upon dozens of figures descended rapidly, all converging directly on their location.

Gods.

Archons, High gods, lesser gods, all of them responding to the catastrophic destruction that had just torn through their city.

And leading them all at the front center, was Jorus, with fury on his face.

Flanking him on either side were his sons.

There was also Myria, Astia, and even Vyntis of the God Council.

Every god who had answered Jorus’s call had all gathered.

"Oh, Black Dragon," Jorus declared. "you have indeed revealed your true self and shown that you mean only our destruction!"

His hands moved swiftly, forming a seal as well.

Several other gods did the same, their fingers positioning themselves as they began a process to use their Laws.

Some others summoned golden magic circles that materialized in front of them, as devastating spells took shape within their centers.

They were preparing to attack him.

All at once.

And in response, white mass began emanating from Aiden’s draconic form.

It started as a faint glow around his scales, then grew brighter and more intense with each passing second.

The light coalesced into an orb that surrounded his entire body. This was the early stage of his destruction skill.

Genesis Zero.

Aiden or rather, the rage-consumed version of him that still dominated his actions, intended to wipe them all out in one single attack.

And then everything stopped.

The gods stopped their attempts mid way, and Aiden’s Genesis Zero ceased its formation as the white light started dimming.

The high tensed moment was beginning to quell down, even Orion’s raging lightning was flickering out.

In a temple far from the battlefield, a massive book had materialized in midair.

Its cover was bound in material that seemed to shift between leather and starlight depending on how the light caught it.

Golden runes floated around its surface.

The book opened on its own, its pages flipping to reveal a blank sheet.

A hand moved beside it, and it held a golden pen whose tip glowed with the same light as the runes on the book’s cover.

The hand moved gracefully across the page, writing in flowing script that appeared in gold ink:

"There was absolute tranquility in the city of Eden."

The moment the final letter was written, that was when reality shifted accordingly.

The aggressive intent vanished from every god assembled on the battlefield. The destructive energy surrounding Aiden dissipated.

The tension that had been building toward inevitable catastrophe simply... ceased to exist.

Tranquility had settled over Eden.

The book closed with a soft sound, and both it and the golden pen faded away.

Then Adam floated down from his earlier suspended position in the air.

He had been hovering cross-legged, perfectly still, with his eyes closed in deep focus as he searched for Lilith, across every corner of the Universe.

But he could no longer ignore the commotion outside.
