My Dragon King System-Chapter 361: Prelude To The War For HolyGrail
Lomen's block was a little less noisy than the rest. A good number of their champions wore identical grey cloaks that reached the ground. Their hoods were drawn up and the only thing that distinguished one from another was the weapon each carried, all of them different and enormous as hell.
The Uweron Continent had the fewest champions in attendance. Yet despite their smaller numbers, their ranks radiated a dense surge of mana. Several of them were even hovering inches above the ground.
Amongst the champions of Uweron, one figure was peculiar. He had purple shades hanging above his nose and no one in particular had figured that this was Zephron.
A former Demon Lord.
Nazanda drew the eye of nearly everyone nearby. Their champions were dark-skinned and their dress was made of animal skins, bone ornaments, wrappings around the forearms and shins.
A good number of them carried spears or bows taller than their own bodies, and several had living creatures beside them on short leads; things with too many legs and eyes.
Most of Mirean's champions looked like people the sea had shaped and kept. A good number of them had fish-like ears and scales running in neat lines along their necks and forearms.
One champion had this massive glistening thing coiled around his shoulders, a sea creature of some kind.
Paeleshan was the last of the continents, completing the formation at the far end.
Their block was the most varied in appearance of all eight. A good number were beast kins, and the rest were just people of different body sizes.
In Valaross Block, Dragonhold alone had brought twenty mages, not counting King Oberon himself.
For some reason, almost everyone had sights on the champions of Valaross. They murmured about them alot, and it was safe to say that every other continent considered them the biggest threat.
Elena standing near the front of Dragonhold's section, had a composed expression as she stared at the large black gates before them.
A short distance from her was Kayden, with a contemplative look on his face as he wondered just how powerful the figure he had just seen truly was.
This figure, was Syra. Former Host Of the Dragon King System, and she was part of Xathia block on the Valaross line.
Having spent the last three years within Alaric's household in Xathia, she had been placed among the kingdom's champions.
There was no limit to the number of champions a kingdom could bring, but not everyone could participate in the stages.
Only a set number of individuals and champions chosen for each stage were allowed to take part in that portion of the war.
These multitudes were all standing infront of a massive black gates.
They were so large that the champions of eight continents standing before them, felt like scattered figures at the base of a mountain.
The gates were constructed from material not made on this earth and the walls extending from its sides disappeared into the distance in both directions.
This was the entrance to Eden. The city of gods, now domiciled here on earth had set up a large gate in accordance.
The noise and murmurs moving through the crowd had died out the moment those gates came open.
They couldn't help but stare in awe at the moving gates. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
Adam hovered out and the Archons followed. They all stopped at a height that still placed him above the crowd but close enough that his voice would reach everyone as he spoke.
"Today, the Battle for the Holy Grail begins."
——
At The Castle Of The Dragon King…
One by one, its inhabitants stepped out through the main entrance.
Laela had the sleeping Tristan in a baby strap behind her back. Her regalia was green and gold, structured at the shoulders with light armor plating.
Beside her was Arianna, with Andrea held in the crook of her right arm. The little child had one tiny fist wrapped around the edge of her mother's collar and showed no sign of letting go.
Arianna's regalia was violet and black, with a fitted bodice, loose enough let her move freely.
Both women were dressed as warrior queens, although they were only spectators in the war. Their power level had been evaluated too high to be made participants of the battle.
Uriel walked a step behind them to the right, with her six wings folded and this look of worry on her face.
Laela glanced at her. "He'll be back, Uriel."
"I know," Uriel replied. Her voice was steady but the admission beneath it wasn't. "I just can't help the worry."
Arianna placed her free hand on her chest. "We can still feel him. That means he's fine."
Uriel looked at her. She said nothing more, but some of the tension in her expression eased by a degree.
Behind them, Piers and Katherine emerged side by side, with her held together. They were dressed in Ravens Grave guild uniforms, and whatever they were saying to each other was too low to reach anyone else.
Katherine leaned slightly toward him as she spoke. Piers laughed quietly at something, then said something back that made her shake her head with another smile.
To their left, Rin, Innis, and Aeris came out in their own guild uniforms. The three of them were slated as champions for the Holygrail war.
The dragons they would ride on were already waiting. The creatures lowered their backs for their riders to mount.
Arianna had a child in a her arm, so couldn't mount like the others. Instead, she used her mass magic to lighten her weight enough to cause flight, and with that she levitated to amount on Belserion.
Katherine walked toward Qasag, her newly bonded dragon. The creature lowered its head toward her as she approached, and she ran on its hand briefly before mounting.
Piers came up beside her and climbed behind. He had not made as much progress with the Dragon Tongue, and as such was the only one asides Uriel with a dragon.
Even Innis had one now.
However, Piers was just as content to ride with his wife instead.
Varac standing at the entrance of the castle, watched them all attentively. When they were all mounted he said, "Good luck to you all."
Several of them nodded back at him, and Rin gave him a brief wave.
Then the dragons moved.
One after another they pushed upward, releasing majestic roars ahead of them. While Uriel flew with her wings alongside them.
The portal leading out of this place was already open, and they flew toward it together.
