My Eros System Grants Me Infinite Romance Routes-Chapter 165: Elder Succubus Route...
"When were you planning to tell me you used to work for Valerius?"
Satomi’s hand paused halfway to her glass.
For just a second, something flickered across her face... surprise, maybe, or the sharp recalibration of someone who’d just realized they’d miscalculated.
Then it smoothed out and she picked up the glass anyway, taking a slow sip before answering. "So Valerius found you."
"He was waiting in the lobby when I got back." Akira reached into his pocket and pulled out the matte-black card, setting it on the table between them. "He made an offer. Then, right before he left, he told me to give you his regards. Said you worked for him nine years ago and that the parting was ’unpleasant.’"
Satomi’s eyes flicked to the card, then back to his face.
Her expression didn’t change, but something tightened at the corners of her mouth. She set her glass down carefully. "Of course he did."
"You didn’t think that was worth mentioning this morning?" Akira kept his tone even. "When you were making tea and telling me how everyone’s watching me now?"
"I was going to tell you." She leaned back in the chair, her posture still relaxed but her eyes sharp. "After Ayaka and Rina left. After you had a moment to process the fact that an Alpha-class Incubus Lord just made direct contact with you." She paused. "But yes. You’re right. I should have led with it."
Akira picked up the second glass but didn’t drink yet. "Start now."
She was quiet for a long moment, turning the stem of her wine glass between her fingers. Then she exhaled and met his gaze directly.
"I worked for Valerius for three years," she said. Her tone was even. "I was one of his collectors."
"What does that mean?"
"Incubi and succubi traditionally work in networks. Solo operations are risky to...o much visibility, too many enemies, not enough resources. So we form collectives. Share territory, pool intelligence, coordinate feeding patterns to avoid detection from The Order." She paused. "Valerius runs the largest network in East Asia. Has for decades."
"And you were part of it."
"I was. I collected ambient essence from high-density emotional zones... nightclubs, concerts, festivals. Places where lust and excitement were already saturated in the air. No individual hunting, no direct contact. Just... harvesting what was already there."
She looked at him. "It was clean work. Safe. Until I realized what Valerius was actually building."
"Which was?"
"Dominion." The word came out flat. "He’s not interested in balance. He’s not interested in coexistence. He wants control over every supernatural entity in the region: demons, exorcists, civilian populations. He’s been positioning himself as the gatekeeper for years. Anyone who wants to operate in his territory has to go through him."
Akira set his glass down. "So you left."
"I left." She met his eyes. "And it cost me. He doesn’t forgive defection. The fact that I’m still alive means he’s decided I’m not worth the effort of hunting down... yet. But if he knows you and I are connected now, that calculation changes."
"He already knows. He told me to give you his regards."
Satomi’s jaw tightened. "Then we don’t have much time. He’ll move faster now that he knows I’m close to you."
Akira leaned forward, elbows on his knees. "You said you’re not just a low-level succubus. What are you actually?"
She studied him for a moment, like she was deciding how much to trust him. Then she reached up and loosened the collar of her robe slightly.
A faint pink glow began to pulse beneath her skin... not surface-level like Ayaka’s or Rina’s, but deeper, denser, like something coiled under pressure.
"Beta-class," she said quietly. "I’ve been suppressing it for years. Compressing my essence signature down to almost nothing so the Order and now the SPIU scanners read me as human. It’s exhausting, but it works."
Akira felt Ai stir in the back of his mind. "Beta-class suppressed to near-zero detection. That’s high-level control. She’s been doing this for a decade minimum."
"Why suppress it at all? Why not just leave the city?"
"Because she’s hiding from more than the SPIU, darling. If Valerius knows where she is and hasn’t killed her yet, it’s because he’s waiting for her to become useful again. The moment she shows real power, he’ll move."
"You’ve been living like this for years," Akira said. "Teaching at the school, feeding passively, keeping your head down."
"Yes." She let the glow fade, the robe settling back into place. "I chose to work as a teacher because human emotions are richer when they’re genuine. Students at that age... they feel everything so intensely. Love, jealousy, ambition, heartbreak. It’s ambient essence just floating through the halls. I could feed without ever touching anyone."
"Until I showed up."
"Until you showed up." She almost smiled. "I’ve been watching you since Halloween. I couldn’t place what was different at first... you looked the same physically then started getting alltoned up, and your essence signature kept shifting. Growing. I thought maybe you’d been touched by a minor demon and didn’t know it."
She paused. "Then the Gates started opening faster. The festival painting. Rina’s corruption. The Lilithia Fragment." She looked at him directly. "You’re not just touched by demonic energy, Akira-kun. You’re amplifying it. Broadcasting it. You’re a beacon."
Akira felt the weight of that sink in. "Valerius said the same thing. That I’m accelerating the timeline."
"He’s right." Satomi leaned forward, looking serious. "And that’s not the worst part. Valerius doesn’t just observe. He plants seeds."
"What kind of seeds?"
"Influence. Corruption. Subtle essence manipulation." She gestured vaguely toward the window. "Several students at the school have been touched. Not enough to turn them, but enough to make them... receptive. Easier to sway. Easier to control when the time comes."
Akira’s mind immediately went to the list. "Who?"
"I don’t know all of them. But I know one for certain." She met his eyes. "The Cultural Festival painting. The one Aoi worked on."
"What about it?"
"Valerius corrupted the paint." She said it simply, like she was stating a weather report. "He has contacts in the supply chain... art stores, shipping companies, material vendors. He laced the pigment Aoi used with trace amounts of essence-reactive compounds. When the Gate opened nearby, the painting acted as a resonance anchor. It pulled the corruption directly into the school."
Akira’s hands tightened on his knees. "Aoi didn’t know."
"Of course she didn’t. That’s the point. He’s been testing you... your response time, your power level, how you prioritize threats. Every Gate that’s opened since you became active has been a controlled experiment."
She paused. "And now he’s done collecting data. He’s ready to move directly."
The room was quiet for a long moment.
Akira processed the layers of it: the painting, the students, the network Valerius had spent years building. All of it designed to trap someone like him before he even knew he was walking into it.
"You said you can teach me things Ayaka doesn’t know," Akira said finally. "What kind of things?"
Satomi stood and moved to the window, her back to him. "Incubus techniques. Not just succubus basics. Valerius trained all his collectors in both offense and defense, domination and seduction, essence manipulation at a level most demons never reach."
She turned back to face him. "I can show you how to cloak your signature so the SPIU can’t track you. How to compress your aura so it reads weaker than it is. How to counter Valerius’s specific techniques when he comes for you."
"And what do you need in return?"
She was quiet for a moment. "I’ve been suppressing my nature for two years now. Full suppression... no feeding, no essence exchange, nothing that would risk detection. It’s taking a toll. My control is slipping. Another six months and I’ll either lose cohesion entirely or I’ll snap and feed recklessly."
She exhaled. "I need a powerful essence source to stabilize. Someone strong enough to handle the exchange without breaking."
Akira held her gaze. "You’re asking me to bond with you."
"I’m asking you to decide if you trust me enough to let me help you survive what’s coming." She moved back to the chair and sat down.
"Valerius will come for you. The SPIU will escalate. The Gates will keep opening. You’re walking into a war, Akira-kun, and right now you’re fighting it alone with a fledgling, a low-ranked succubus and no real tactical knowledge."
She leaned forward slightly. "I can change that. But I need something in return."
The system chimed softly in his peripheral vision.
[SYSTEM CHOICE DETECTED]
[SATOMI AYASE — ELDER SUCCUBUS ROUTE]
[OPTION A: ALLIANCE THROUGH INTIMACY] Full route commitment. Satomi becomes a bonded ally with access to advanced training protocols. Grants: Incubus Techniques (Lv.1-3), Essence Cloaking (Advanced), Tactical Intelligence on Valerius’s Network. Affinity locked at 100% upon completion. Warning: This is a permanent bond. Dissolution is not possible.
[OPTION B: TRANSACTIONAL ARRANGEMENT] Essence exchange only. No emotional bond, no route commitment. Grants: Temporary stabilization for Satomi, limited access to basic techniques. Affinity remains fluid. Can be renegotiated or terminated at any time.
[OPTION C: DECLINE] Reject the offer entirely. Handle Valerius and the coming conflicts without Satomi’s assistance. No route progression. Affinity decreases. Satomi’s stability continues to degrade — potential hostile encounter in 4-6 months.
Akira looked at the three options, then back at Satomi. She was watching him without any visible pressure, like she’d already accepted whatever answer he gave.
"You need to decide," she said quietly. "Before Valerius makes his next move."
