My Evil Boy Toy-Chapter 263: Where It Started
Chapter 263: Where It Started
I couldn’t stop my tears from falling. I continued to kiss him and wrapped my arms around his neck. The gentle kiss became forceful and I knew, he was gone.
When we let go of each other, I was still crying. He was staring at me and had a frown on his face. I thought he was going to scold me, but he didn’t say a word and then wiped the tears from my eyes.
"Don’t cry. You look ugly." He whispered.
I pouted. I knew he was making me laugh and I appreciate it. But my heart and my mind were in a total mess.
"I wanted him to say goodbye to you. I’m sorry I had to let him go." He said.
I was still sobbing but I still managed to respond.
"No. I’m sorry I’m too emotional."
He sighed. "Peggy, I want to be cured. I don’t want to end up like Alora. I can’t let you take care of me whenever I switch. The first thing I need to do to get better is to let go of him. He occupied most of my memories. I couldn’t remember everything about you, about Caden and our friends because he was the one who was with you since high school. My heart feels the love I have for you, but it’s frustrating that I couldn’t remember anything."
My heart felt like being crashed again. Not because of the other him, but because of the expression in his eyes. I knew I was being selfish. I shouldn’t feel sad about it because I knew from the start that Jayden was sick.
"I’m sorry I spent more time with the other you so it was quite a shock to me. But love, please tell me what to do so I could help you. Are you still scared? Tell me everything please."
Jayden sighed. "I’m scared to be alone. I’m scared to lose you and Caden. I’m not the one who spent those years with you, but I could feel the fear of losing the people I love and it’s growing. I always felt anxious. I tried to be cold to you so you wouldn’t see that weakness, but my heart couldn’t take ignoring you."
"You’re not going to lose me. We promised to visit Iceland to see the northern lights. You may not remember the promises we made to each other so I want to take you to the places where we made those promises. We’ll make new memories and if you switch, I’ll deal with all of you."
Jayden pulled me in his arms, embracing me right. I could hear his heartbeat and it was the same as the Jayden I knew from the beginning. I felt relieved and happy. I realized that they were really the same person.
The warmth of his touch, the sound of his heartbeat, and the way he looked at me may be a lot different but it was his way to cover his weakness. He didn’t want me to see that he was weak so he was using his alters when I’m with him.
"I don’t want to spend time with your alters anymore. I just want you, love. If you’re scared, don’t keep it to yourself. Being afraid is not a weakness, that’s being human. Let out your emotions. Do not create any more alters." I said while embracing him tighter.
"Thank you, Peggy. I think I found a way to cure myself." He whispered.
I looked at him surprised. "Really? How?"
"By going back to where it started. I had to go to the places where I created them. I had to remember the events that had happened in the past and think of the reason I created them. I had to face my fears."
I nodded. Maybe he really had to see the places where the bad memories happened. He wanted to forget the nightmares of those traumas so he created helters and locked the real him in the darkness.
"I’ll help you. Let’s go back to those places. Where should we start?" I asked.
"The house where they killed my mother." He said.
It was the one place I didn’t want to see anymore. I remembered his mother’s face and her lifeless body. The look in her eyes when the murderers left her on that table was still on my mind. I couldn’t forget her screams begging the men to stop hurting her and to spare her life.
"I understand. When do you want to leave?" I asked.
"Now. Let’s pack our things. But first, I have to talk to dad." He said.
I nodded. We talked some more about the plan for the trip. He went to his father while I helped the maids pack our things.
I was in the closet when I noticed a photo album. It was the photos during our high school days. I looked at them and couldn’t stop crying. Those were the days we didn’t have any idea about our future. The days that we didn’t know our lives were connected. I wiped my tears and smiled. I would not allow Jayden would just forget everything we had. I had a feeling that he and the other him shared the same thoughts since they felt the same towards me.
At first, Jayden’s father was hesitant about our plan. He was shocked when Jayden told him the truth. His father cried because he didn’t realize that the one with us since high school was one of his alters.
Jayden said he created that alter to act just like him so no one would find out. And he succeeded. His father felt guilty about what had happened to his son and that he couldn’t cure him. He admitted he lost hope when his wife died and didn’t want to be a doctor anymore. He cried and begged Jayden for forgiveness.
In the end, he agreed and gave Jayden the key to their previous house. Jayden was surprised that his father still had it. He said he couldn’t let go of it and decided to keep it. He would sometimes visit the house and cry, asking for his wife’s forgiveness. We didn’t realize he was also suffering. If Jayden was consumed by darkness after the death of his mother, his father was consumed by guilt.
"If you notice something unusual, call me. I always felt that someone was observing me whenever I visit the house. I waited for them to approach me, but they never did. I think I’m not the one they wanted." Jayden’s father warned me.
I looked at Jayden giving instructions to the servants. Then turned to his father.
"Do you think they’re looking for Jayden?" I asked.
My heart pounded when he nodded. It was one of the reasons he wanted to hide Jayden. When we first met them, I remember him telling us that they were being followed and no one believed them.
"Be careful." He said then hugged me right. "Thank you for doing this for my son."
I hugged him back. "I love him. I’ll do anything for him."
The place Jayden grew up was in Willow Green. It was a small town a few hours away from Northbay. His parents settled there after running away from the mafia clan.
"Where are we going?" He asked.
I insisted to drive because I wanted to take him somewhere first before going to Willow Green. I looked at him and smiled.
"Do you remember when I asked you to be my boyfriend for a week? You agreed. When I wanted to break up with you, you got mad and tried to force yourself on me." I chuckled. "It was my first kiss. I really thought you were going to rape me back then. I was scared. But I was more afraid to lose you when you said you’ll find someone else. I never really thought of having a relationship for more than a week. You were the only man who didn’t agree with my rules."
He didn’t answer and just listened to me. I knew he couldn’t remember any of it because it was the other him who I had those memories with. I wanted to slowly show him everything we had by starting to take him to where we spent our teenage years.
He frowned when I turned right and entered into huge premises. It was Golden Oak High School. The place where our love story began.
