My Evil Crown Prince-Chapter 70: From Family To Enemy
Victoria Forelli. His mother’s half sister. She was supposed to marry Alejandro Rossi, but her sister, Venice Forelli, begged his mother to help them. He heard from his grandfather that he had three step-aunts, but they were nowhere to be found.
"My name is Venice, I’m sixteen. T-This is Victoria, she’s eleven and Violeta is nine. We’re your half-sisters." Venice introduced themselves.
"So what help do you need from my wife?" Jayden asked, coldly.
Venice and the girls finally looked at the two. The one called Victoria started sobbing.
"I apologize for my sister’s sudden outburst, but she was suppressing her emotions for a while now." Venice said while comforting her sister.
Peggy frowned.
"Will you tell us what’s going on?" She asked. "I can’t help you if you won’t say anything."
Venice let out a deep breath. "Father promised another Mafia Clan that he would give one of his daughters to marry their Capo. It was supposed to be me since I am the eldest, but I’m sick and couldn’t bear a child, so they chose Victoria instead of me. She’s too young to get married and, worst of all, the guy was thirty years older than her."
Peggy was surprised. She thought her father, Matthew Forelli, loved his daughters. Did she read him wrong? She couldn’t believe how ruthless he was. Maybe if she grew up with him, she would be married to a fat bellied guy who was half her age. She thought inwardly.
"Sister, can you help me? Please? Could you talk to father that I don’t want to get married to that old man? He’s scary. He’s huge, and he looks at me like a plaything. I don’t like it." Victoria pleaded while crying.
"What’s the name of the guy?" Jayden asked.
"Alejandro Rossi." Venice answered.
That was the first time his mother met his step-aunts. He just heard the story from his parents. And from what he remembered, the Rossi’s never side with anyone. They were hired killers when a clan couldn’t do the task or if they wanted to kill someone in secret.
His mother was able to help her stepsisters by letting them live inside the palace. When the attack happened twelve years ago, they were there. He met them when he was six. But after the Rossi’s disbanded and Benjamin got arrested, the three sisters asked Matthew Forelli, their father, to leave. They told him they wanted to live in peace, away from the mafia. His grandfather approved it, with the condition that they had to report or at least inform their father about their whereabouts.
They did it at first, but for the past six years, they had never contacted the Forelli Clan. He couldn’t recognize Victoria in the event, but Elijah noticed the rose tattoo on her hand, the mark of the Forelli.
"Who the fuck are you?" Victoria asked. "How did you know my name?"
Caden nodded at Rock to remove the blindfold from Victoria’s eyes.
Victoria frowned when the light almost blinded her. She looked around to see the people around her. She glared at Alira when she saw her and then glowered at Caden. She was supposed to shout at him, but when she noticed his tattoos, her face became pale as white. She stared at Caden in silent horror.
"Hello, Aunt Victoria." He smirked.
"I-I"
"Sshh. Let’s not talk about our relationship. It was long overdue, anyway. I already know the reason for your sudden disappearance, so I don’t need your explanation. You’re here because I want to make an example with Dr. Watkins." Caden said, looking at Victoria with a cold glare.
There was a faint note of hysteria in Victoria’s eyes, and she was frozen in silence.
Mary Watkins turned her head from left to right. Blindfolded and confused, her body trembled when she heard nothing from the other woman.
"S-She’s your aunt?" Mary asked.
Caden chuckled. "Yes. My mother’s younger sister. But she did something terrible. You don’t need to know about it, but I want you to know that I am not someone you could mess up with. Even if you are my family."
Fear crawls over Mary’s body, prickling her skin. She couldn’t see the people in the room, but she knew the man with the haughty tone wasn’t bluffing.
"So, I’m going to give you another chance. Tell me about the memory serum. Everything."
Mary nodded. "I’ll talk! Just don’t hurt my daughter, please."
"It depends. If I’m satisfied with your answer, then I won’t hurt you and your daughter. But if you missed a single detail or if you lie to me, you’re both dead."
Mary nodded again. Her sweat beading on her face as she trembled with fear toward the man she couldn’t recognize.
"W-When the company stopped its operation, all the files were supposed to be deleted. But before they were able to erase everything, I stole it and flew here. I had nothing when I moved here to Northbay and I was pregnant. I was desperate, so the only thing that came into my mind was to sell the research. I tried to approach pharmaceutical companies, but they didn’t even read or look at it. But one day, as I was starving to death, a wealthy man came and offered me to work for him. He wanted me to make the memory serum. I didn’t ask where he would sell it or what he would do to the serum, I just did what he asked me. I got paid a huge amount of money and started a new life with my daughter." She paused.
She took a sharp breath and continued. "I was working for him for three years when I found out he was from the mafia. That’s when I realized I could never get away with him."
"Give me the name." Caden ordered.
"His name is Jonathan Trekker. But I saw him on the news and his identity was known as Benjamin Miller."
Caden laughed, loud enough to echo inside the penthouse.
"I knew it. You never disappoint me. You are full of surprises, my dear grandfather." He said.
"G-Grandfather?" Mary stuttered.
"Yeah. He’s my foster grandfather. That old man will never give up ruining my life." He clenched his jaw.
"How about your clients? And the dealer?" It was Lucas who asked.
"At first, our clients were mostly from the mafia. But three years ago, I heard we now have politicians and businessmen as our clients. The guy who hosted the event is one of them." She said.
Caden glanced at Juliano who was shocked by Mary’s revelation. His eyes jumped with fear as he stared directly into Caden’s gaze.
"Juliano Garcia?" Caden asked to confirm.
Mary nodded. "Yes. He’s one of our clients. But there’s a rumor that he’s also one of the dealers."
Caden smirked. "A dealer, huh? How does your transactions with your clients work?"
Mary and Juliano were both shaking from fear. Caden nodded at Rock to remove Mary’s blindfold. Then another man grabbed Juliano’s shoulder and forced him to sit on the sofa beside Mary.
"How about your aunt, Boss?" Rock asked.
"Take her. You know what to do with her."
Victoria clasped her palms, brushing them against each other, begging. She crawled and kneeled in front of Caden with her pale face.
"Please, Caden. I-I didn’t mean to hide. You know your grandfather very well. He couldn’t let us live in peace."
Caden chuckled. "Oh, really? Aunt Victoria, I’m not that naïve little boy who would believe you. I already know everything."
"C-Caden, they lied to you! Your mother was a lying-"
"Bitch? Is that what you want to call my mother? Insult her again and I won’t hesitate to slit your throat." Caden said. Anger flared across his face.
Rock pulled Victoria away from Caden, blindfolding her and covering her mouth with a duct tape.
Alira gulped. She turned to Caden and mustered her courage to speak. "Is that necessary?" 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
Caden didn’t look at her. "If you can’t take it, you can live the room. I’ll ask Rock to take you home."
A flint of pain sparked inside her. He knew he was disappointed with her again. But she couldn’t lie to her own feelings. She hated everything she saw. It was disheartening and unpleasant.
She took a deep breath and bit her lip. "No, I’ll stay here and watch you."
Caden just nodded, but she noticed a little tension from him. She felt relieve that her firm voice affected him.
He then stared at Mary and Juliano again after his men dragged Victoria out of the penthouse.
"So, what’s your deal?" He asked.
Mary and Juliano glanced at each other, confusion were written on their faces.
"What do you mean? You’re asking how are transaction works, right?" Juliano asked.
Caden grinned. "Yes, and no. I want to know about your transactions and how I can make a deal with you?"
"You mean as a client?" Mary frowned.
