My Evil Crown Prince-Chapter 93: The Missing Formula
They had a peaceful and joyful dinner together. She didn’t care if he killed the guy who harmed her. They mostly talked about what she did the whole day. Caden was impressed with her and was very satisfied with their dinner.
"I’ll help you." He said when she stood up to wash the dishes.
She giggled. "Do you know how?"
He scratched his head and his face turned red from embarrassment.
"Are you blushing?" She asked with amusement.
"Stop." He mumbled, turning his eyes away from her.
Her eyes widened. "Oh, my! You’re so cute!"
She exclaimed, then took her phone and took a photo of him.
"Alira!" He called, snatching her phone from her hand.
"Hey, don’t delete it, please." She pleaded.
Caden looked at the photo and he was going to delete it, but when he saw Alira’s face, he smiled at her
"Fine. But don’t let anyone see it. It’s embarrassing. You’re the only one allowed to see the soft side of me." He warned her.
"I like that. I want to keep that side of you to myself. I won’t share it with anyone." She winked.
"Come on. I’ll help you wash the plates." He said.
It was an unforgettable and one of the happiest days of her life. Eating meals together, laughing at the smallest things, and doing chores with Caden.
"This is amazing. I’m so happy right now, Alira. I think we should do this in Flousia." He said.
"We won’t be sleeping in the same bedroom and we have eyes all around the palace. I don’t think we could do this there." She commented.
Caden was sitting on the sofa while she prepared tea for them.
"I’ll make this happen. With your help." He smiled.
She nodded. "We’ll make it happen. Together."
Their favourable moment was cut short by a phone call. Caden glanced at her before answering the call.
"I’ll be there." He said.
"Who is it?" She asked.
"It’s Rock. You see, I need to go back to Willow Green. I don’t want to leave you alone. Would you like to come? It’s late and I know you’re exhausted. You can take a nap on our way there."
She smiled. "I would love to. It’s better to wait for you there. At least I know you’re just outside the unit."
Rock and Marvel were already in the parking lot when they came out. She noticed that Caden only had two to five men around him if he was working as the Boss of the Forelli Clan. But as the crown prince, he got a lot of guards protecting him.
"Your royal guards, what do you tell them when you’re with the clan? I mean, they are required to protect you at all times, right?" She asked curiosity piqued.
"In Flousia, yes. They are required to do that. I usually come out at night when everyone is asleep. I always make sure to come back before sunrise so no one would notice. I have a secret door in my room, leading outside the palace. I used that every night."
She nodded. "And how about here? Where are they?"
"On call. They just have to come if I ask them to." He chuckled.
"I see. So what’s the deal in Willow Green?" She asked.
Caden frowned. "Are you sure you don’t want to take a nap? That matter can wait. You have to take a rest."
"I’m fine. I want to know."
He sighed. "Mary found a file about the missing formula of the memory serum. Phoenix didn’t tell me the details. We’ll find out once we get there."
She fell asleep on their way to Willow Green. She tried not to, but Caden insisted.
"Boss, the Princess is still sleeping. Should we wake her up?" Rock asked.
Caden hissed. "I’ll carry her to my bedroom. Prepare everything. I’ll be right behind you."
He carried Alira carefully and took her to bed. He smiled and kissed her on the forehead before stepping out of the room.
"So, what did Mary find?" He asked.
"Boss, this is a file that she believes is the complete formula for the serum. She found it in Michael Cerro’s office." Phoenix answered.
He frowned. For someone like Cerro, he couldn’t believe that his office was too easy to infiltrate. It could be a trap.
"Did someone check it out?" He asked.
Phoenix shook her head. "We couldn’t. It might be a trap."
Caden wasn’t surprised. His men had been with the mafia for quite some time so they knew if something was off.
"How about we use that room?" Red suggested.
"Are you certain it would work?" Caden asked.
Red nodded with confidence. "I built it. It’s more than perfect."
"Okay then let’s go."
They went into a room with metal walls. It was a place where every signal was deflected. They were suspecting that the file on that small USB device had a tracker once they opened it.
Red was a weapon and device engineer. She created a special room that deflects signals from any communication and tracking device.
She turned the switch to activate the deflecting device. Then Phoenix placed the USB device in the computer.
"We’re right, Boss. This is a tracker. They already know that Mary is a spy." Phoenix said.
He chuckled. "My grandfather’s secretary is a smart guy."
"How about the deal with Juliano? Do you think he knows we set it up?" Rock asked.
Caden shook his head. "Cerro is not directly communicating with Juliano and the other dealers. As much as possible, he wanted to keep his identity and Benjamin’s a secret."
"How about the formula? Is it the real deal?" Phoenix asked.
Caden shrugged his shoulders. "We’re not sure yet. For now, we have to inform Mary to be careful. Don’t tell her that Benjamin and Michael know she’s our spy."
"But Boss, isn’t it better to take her and order her to create the serum using this formula?" Red asked.
He disagreed. "We don’t have the necessary equipment. Mary is the only one who can make the serum. I don’t think they will kill her yet. Let them use her. If this is the complete formula, they will definitely produce the serum and test it. We’ll wait and buy everything they have using Benjamin’s money."
Everyone nodded in agreement.
"Boss, Juliano sent the list of old and new clients under him. Here are the names." Cleo handed him a document.
"We’ll be busy from now on. Narrow down the list of clients from the start until now. But I also need the names of those who bought before." He said.
"What for?" Cleo asked.
"We need to know the reason why they stopped buying the serum. For those clients until now, we have to find out where they used it. Did Mary give the address of the lab?"
Phoenix nodded. "Yes, Boss. It’s located in the southern part of Northbay City. Benjamin bought a seven-hectare land and we believed he’s also there, hiding."
"The building. Was it built legally?" He asked.
Phoenix curled her lips. "It’s an orphanage from the outside. And I think the guy from Golden Oak came from that place."
It made sense. They built the orphanage and sent the children to Golden Oak. They were using the students of the Bronze Class against the Platinum Class. They were mainly targeting the wealthiest families in Northbay.
"Phoenix, your team will take care of Mary. Make sure to communicate with her as often as possible. Protect her and her daughter in the shadows."
"Copy, Boss." Phoenix answered.
"Marvel, your team will assist Ace. Make sure to keep the serum in a safe place. Juliano said it will be delivered tomorrow. Contact them again after a few days to order three times more of what we just purchased. "
"Yes, Boss!" Marvel exclaimed.
He looked around and saw Zero, a college student at Golden Oak.
"Zero, do you think you can have your first assignment?" He asked.
The young man’s face lit up. "Boss, yes, Boss!"
"Alright. We need to know the names of the students under my grandfather and Michael Cerro’s sponsorship. We also have to find out how many bottled water they had placed around the school. You saw what it looks like, right? Check all the vending machines in school."
Zero smiled widely. "Consider it done, Boss." He shouted.
The others expressed their excitement about Zero’s first assignment. Caden made sure it was a simple task and wouldn’t need to risk his life. The young man had a great life ahead and didn’t want to ruin it.
"Boss?" One of the men called him.
He glanced at him with a frown on his face.
"What do you want?" He asked.
"Angel is awake and she wants you to take a rest with her." The man mumbled in embarrassment.
Rock and the others glanced at each other. Caden looked at his men. "Don’t say a thing."
His men shook their heads. "We’re n–not saying anything, Boss."
He sighed. "Let’s all take a rest. It’s already three in the morning anyway."
