"Elder Priss?" The Guardian muttered while staring at the woman wearing a white mask that covered her whole face.

The Guardian already expected that he would die. As such, seeing someone blocking the Sage's attack that was about to harvest his life surprises him.

Who among humanity can block a Great Beast's attack? Aside from the Guardian, that was also a Great Mage; no human could achieve such a feat.

Not to mention, Elder Priss did it so easily. With such a display of power, it could only mean one thing…

Elder Priss… she… she had reached the Great Mage Rank!

This was a pleasant surprise for the Guardian. He was trying to find a suitable successor who could achieve the Great Rank to either replace him or help him kill the Sage.

He did not expect that the person he was trying to find was actually closer than he had thought.

"It's Elder Priss. To think she would become a Great Mage. Did I waste my time scattering resources throughout the realm to help humans? Was sacrificing the lives of my own people to the Tree of Hope all for nothing?"

"If I spent and provided more resources to Elder Priss, would she have reached the Great Mage rank earlier? If she did, fewer humans would have died."

Despite the happiness that comes from the breakthrough of Elder Priss, the Guardian also cannot help but be a bit gloomy.

He used a lot of the city's resources to hide them and wait for a fated human to discover the treasures. He also sacrificed his own people to a tree in hopes that it would bear the same fruit that he consumed, which helped him reach the Great Mage Rank.

If only he had decided to spend more resources on Elder Priss. He might not need to do such a thing, and humanity might have won even earlier than before.

"No! How can another human reach the Great Rank?!"

The Sage was in utter disbelief. The Sage and the Guardian both felt the strings of fate that caused them to be enemies and established the current trend in the Savage Beast Realm.

They instinctively know that the future trend of the realm, whether it be humanity or the magic beasts that would become superior, would be decided by the two of them.

The outcome of their final battle should be the deciding factor on who will rule the realm. How come a new Great Mage suddenly appeared?

Unbeknownst to the two, what their instincts told them was actually true. It should have been their final battle that would dictate whether humans or magic beasts would be superior.

However, that is something that would only happen if there were no outside interference.

Elder Priss is precisely that outside interference that changed the course of history.

Overwhelming power can shatter fate and destiny, and that is what has currently happened.

"Heh… in the end, I was not the one who would die but you!" The Guardian said with a sneer.

With two Great Mages on humanity's side, the Sage is on the losing end. Even if the Guardian is currently in a weakened state, as long as Elder Priss holds off the Sage, the Guardian can recover some of his mana.

Thinking of that, the Guardian immediately retrieved and consumed a potion to restore his mana.

Seeing his action, the Sage despaired. It knew that it could not defeat two Great Mages.

Defeating the Guardian is not something that the Sage did on its own. It has the help of many of his subordinates.

Even with the population advantage of the magic beasts, their number still diminished a lot.

First of all, the war has been ongoing for years, and many magic beasts are either killed or corrupted by the modified ghost berries.

Not to mention, the spatial storms that were caused by the battle between the two beings at the third rank also massacred a lot of lives, both from humanity and the magic beasts.

As a beast afraid of death, the Sage's only reaction was to flee from a losing battle. Since it cannot win on its own, why should it stay?

The realm is big enough. There are places it could hide. As long as it managed to flee and hide, it could wait until the Great Mages of humanity die.

As such, the turtle took out a crimson mirror. It was the magic artifact that was used to create the portal.

However, the mirror was currently damaged. There were visible spider cracks on it, but the aura it was emitting remains mysterious.

The Sage injected mana into the mirror, intending to create a portal that it could use to escape. Although the mirror in its damaged state cannot fully control where the Sage will end up, it could still teleport it to a general location.

This was the same method it used to send magic beasts inside the City of Hope. While it cannot control where exactly inside the City the magic beasts are sent, at the very least, the mirror can send the beasts inside the city.

As long as the Sage managed to get away, it had the confidence of being able to survive even if it would have to live its days in hiding.

However, before it could even create a portal to escape, a pink fog suddenly enveloped the crimson mirror.

The Sage's mana was cut off, and the portal failed to materialize.

"No!" The Sage screamed in horror after seeing that the mirror was taken away from it.

"Give it back!"

The Sage tried to use its power to take back the mirror, but it failed to do so. In the end, the mirror landed in the hands of Elder Priss. With this mirror, Rezen's ticket to another realm was secured, as well as the Sage's death.

Without the mirror, the Sage would find it hard to flee, and to ensure that will not happen, the Guardian moved as well.

Despite not recovering a lot of his mana yet, the Guardian still moved behind the Sage to prevent him from successfully running away.

The Sage faced one Great Mage behind and another in front of it. The situation it found itself in was not looking good.

It now regrets attacking the City of Hope. If it knew that humanity had gained another Great Mage, even if its guts grew ten times bigger, it would definitely not do such a foolish thing.

Even if humanity were to dominate the realm, as long as the Sage waits until the Great Mages run out of lifespan, it could still emerge victorious. It has a much longer lifespan compared to humans.

Unfortunately, what was done cannot be undone. Facing two Great Mages with the intent to kill, it would be hard for the Sage to keep its life even if it wanted to.

In fact, even if the Guardian didn't make a move, it seems that Elder Priss alone was more than enough to deal with the Sage.

The Sage tried to run away, and even before the Guardian could try to stop it, Elder Priss already conjured a claw made from pink fog.

The fog seems to have solidified as it grabbed the turtle and prevented it from escaping.

"No! We can talk about this!" The Sage cried out in fear. It did not expect that a newly ascended Great Mage could have such a strong power.

The Sage has been at the Great rank for years. In general, it should have been stronger compared to a Great Mage who just reached that rank.

However, reality was completely different. In just one move, Elder Priss managed to suppress the Sage. It can't even mobilize a hint of its power as soon as the fog claw holds it.

"Stop! Please! I surrender! I am willing to obey humanity!"

Its fear grew bigger after seeing that it could not flee.

"Hmph, for all the humans you killed, even death is too great an outcome for you" The Guardian snorted coldly, his disgust for this beast growing even more than before.

When the Guardian thought that he would die, he bravely confronted death. He didn't beg for mercy, nor did he show such an unsightly display.

However, when it was the Sage who was about to face death, things were completely different. Not only did it beg for mercy, but it was even willing to surrender to humanity. It really showed no majesty of a Great Rank beast.

Too bad for the Sage that Elder Priss has no intention of letting it off. The fog claw exerted even stronger force than before, and soon, the sound of the Sage's shell cracking resounded in the area.

"Aahhh! No! No! Stop! Please stop! I surrender! I am willing to surrender! Spare me!"

The Sage cried out in terror. Even the Guardian failed to break its shell in their battle. But now, a single attack from this new Great Mage managed to achieve such a feat.
