My Favorite Game Followed Me!-Chapter 741
Chapter 741
Anton and Raymond were led by the guard to a large hall. They found Anders there together with five old men. Based on the men’s aura and presence, Anton assumed that the old men were powerful wizards. When the guard introduced them, one of the older men introduced himself as Secretary Ordurn, an archmage, so basically an assistant of one of the other four men. The secretary introduced the other four as Supreme Fendorus, Supreme Alliach, Supreme Gremor, and, lastly, Invincible Wizard Piendot.
The powerful old wizards and Anders were seated behind a huge table that Anton assumed was used for conferences. Even though Anton was nervous about the authority and power of the wizards surrounding his father, he felt relieved that Anders was not being treated like some kind of prisoner.
Archmage Piendot then led Raymond outside. It meant that the meeting would just be between Anton and his father and Ormundan Wizards Supreme and above.
“Supreme Sunder, welcome. We are amazed at your accomplishments, having reached the supreme rank at such a young age. In the long history of Ormunda, only about 200 or so wizards managed that feat,” One of the four old men said. Anton believed that it was the one called Invincible Piendot.
Learning the information that only around 200 wizards reached the Supreme Rank before the age of twenty in the history of Ormunda, and considering that Ormunda had existed for millennia, it goes to show that Anton’s achievement was rare. He felt relieved a little since his prodigious talent meant that their family would likely not be treated badly. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
“We know your history and know that you’ve managed to reach such accomplishments because of the struggle your family had experienced running away from the undead of the Undead Coalition. It was a good thing that they did not capture you. I’m sure that if you had become a member of their organization, we would have another Divine Lich to contend with, soon,” Supreme Alliach commented.
“Thank you for your acknowledgement. I’m willing to fight against the undead. I’m sure you know the reason why I looked upon the coalition negatively,” Anton told the wizard.
“We’ve been aware of you for quite a while now, young Sunder, but we had decided to leave you be since you’ve been using your power to fight the enemy, and you’ve never used your power to do anything malicious. As a matter of fact, your family’s businesses diverted our citizens to the problems that the kingdom is facing, and we thank you for that. I’m quite sure that you’re aware of why we invited your father here,” Supreme Fendorus said.
“Yes, it’s about the portal that you’ve discovered my father was using to travel from our home to the hotel near the Corridors of Amuneta dungeon,” Anton replied.
“You should understand how rare the ability to create portals and it could be used for nefarious purposes. Normally, such a Spatial Portal or Gate could only be created by a Divine Wizard with assistance from several powerful wizards. Your father already told us some of the mechanics of how your portal could be used and its severe limitations; otherwise, you would be facing not just us but the whole council,” Supreme Gremor said.
Anton told the wizards that he understood what they meant. He then provided more information about the mechanics of his Town Portal scroll. He had to tell the wizards about his “Bloodline” magic and the fact that his spells from his unique magic could not be taught. At the very least, he could inscribe the “Portal Spell” on a scroll once a day, which was the Town Portal Scroll. He learned that the wizards already confiscated almost all of the town portal scrolls that were in Ander’s possession, leaving his father with just a couple of them.
Anton could see that the Ormunda wizards did not truly believe his “bloodline magic” explanation, but thankfully, they did not insist on knowing more about his magic. They told Anton that the portal scroll would be a great help to the kingdom, and they only wanted the scrolls from him.
The wizards basically commanded him to hand over the scrolls that he could produce every day to the kingdom. Thankfully, it would not be for free. They would be paying Anton’s family around 500 gold coins for each scroll, and that was what Anders insisted on. They actually just wanted to pay 100 gold coins for each scroll, and his father demanded 1000 gold coins, which were finally settled at half of that 1000 gold coins price that Anders insisted on.
In return for giving out his portal scrolls to the kingdom, they promised that his family would be protected from any harm and that they could conduct their businesses knowing that no one would dare mess with them. At least, their family received that assurance.
Thankfully, even if he handed all the town portal scrolls that he had already transferred from the game to the real world to the wizards of Ormunda, he still could use the scroll inside the game. The wizards understood that since Anton was basically copying his spell onto a scroll. That also implied that their family was allowed to use the spell. They were already aware that Anton was travelling in the Northern Forest, going to the Northern Kingdom of Enundia. The wizards were actually amused that no one else knew that Anton was capable of instantaneous travel.
After handing all the scrolls to the wizards, Anton and his father were then allowed to leave. While on the road, Anton asked Anders if their family was fine staying in the kingdom and if they should run. He told his father his theory that sooner or later, Anton would be taken by the wizards to study his brand of magic.
Anders did not answer immediately and told Anton that he would need to think about it first. When they arrived at the Rose Manor, everyone was relieved when they saw that Anton and Anders had come back and were in good health. As a matter of fact, they were ecstatic when Anders announced that the family had now received the protection of the wizards of Ormunda and handed the plaque of protection that was given to them by Archmage Ordurn. The plaque was supposed to be displayed on the gates of the manor, but Romina suggested that the plaque be displayed on the doors of the cinema building.
Anton’s father agreed, since it was the best way for the news to spread that the family was now protected. After that, Anders called all the family members to gather in the dining room. They needed to have a meeting. Anton, Anders, and Anna, who had already calmed down upon seeing both her father and brother safely back at the manor, headed to the dining room immediately. There they waited for the other family members. They would need to wait for quite a while because some of them were outside the manor.
While they were waiting, Anders turned to Anton with a serious face.
“Anton, I did not plan to tell you this because I wanted to make sure that you’re enjoying yourself in your travels. I planned to talk to the whole family about your idea of planning to run away if worst comes to worst, but I need you to know that something happened in New Drennor. I’m sure that even without me telling you, you would be aware of it sooner or later since it’s such big news. The Undead Coalition managed to infiltrate New Drennor and had successfully claimed around 10 percent of the kingdom as their territory. The coalition’s territory is now being guarded by several Divine Rank liches, so New Drennor could not take it back willy nilly since a battle with such a lineup would cause severe devastation in the kingdom.”
