My Favorite Game Followed Me!-Chapter 762
Chapter 762
Anton woke up late the next day. When he went to dinner at the tavern in the inn where he rented a room, he was joined by a group of young men and women, simply because by that time, there were no more tables available, and so strangers had to sit with each other. The group that joined him was the guards of a merchant caravan that was based in the fallen kingdom of Mendoza, wherein the owners of the caravan were lucky enough that they were able to relocate to Ormunda before Mendoza was fully taken over by the undead.
“We were about to leave for Ormunda for the caravan’s regular business travel when the undead finally destroyed Mendoza’s western gate. The owners hastily gathered all they could and left for Ormunda. Thankfully, we were quick enough that we were able to clear the vicinity of the kingdom and reach Ormunda safely,” One of them said nervously.
Soon, though, because of the boisterousness of the northern people, Anton and everyone else at his table were forced to join in the impromptu party that suddenly started. It was incredibly loud, but extremely fun. After a couple of hours, Anton found himself dancing with the others, starting to get drunk as a lord. He did not even remember what time he managed to get to his room on the second floor of the inn.
When he woke up, Anton had a massive headache. He did not want to suffer anymore, so he immediately activated his Paladin’s skill, Cleansing Aura, and after a few seconds, all the toxins that were brought on by a night of heavy drinking sloughed off from his body, and his hangover headache disappeared. He almost vomited when he smelled himself. He immediately cast several rounds of his Cleaning spell until he could not smell the foul odor anymore.
After he felt human again, Anton checked the time, and it was already ten in the morning. It actually did not matter to him since he did not have a schedule to follow. He admitted that it felt great to be a powerful, rich, young wizard in a fantasy world.
One interesting thing he had learned the night before was that, unlike Ormunda, where the wizards congregate in a magical academy, and the council is basically the head of those powerful academies, the wizards in Enundia called the groups they formed "Towers". Basically, once a wizard reached the Semi-Divine rank and above, he could form a “Tower” within Enundia, which was basically an organization. The Wizards Towers were usually named after the powerful wizard that headed it, like, for example, the nearest by the inn he was staying was called “Armando’s Tower”, named after the Semi-Divine rank wizard Armando.
Towers specialized in a particular form of magic and would be well known for their specialty. Armando’s Tower was combat-oriented, meaning that most of its wizards specialized in combat. Of course, towers would still do everything a wizard would usually do, but their specialization would usually become their sort of “calling card”.
Anton planned to check out the towers. Since he had become interested in Arrays, he planned to check out towers that specialized in arrays and enchantments. Maybe he could learn a thing or two from them.
Thankfully, when a wizard joined a tower, the moment you reached archmage rank and above, you would not be tied to the tower anymore and could basically go anywhere you wanted. Still, the advantages of tying yourself to a tower were the extraordinary resources one could get for doing wizard experiments, like materials for enchanting and array creation. Some of the materials even came from other dimensions. Of course, any item created by a wizard under the towers would have the tower’s name tag, and the towers would receive a cut from the proceeds of the sale of said items. Wizards under a tower also had to pay a membership fee, but those would be waived once they reached the archmage rank.
Anton wished that the towers were in Ormunda instead of academies. He would have joined one. What he did not know was that the academies were basically the same. It was just that he did not take the time to learn about the academies. He assumed that they were just simply magical schools. He also had forgotten that he was already a part of one of Ormunda’s academies, which was Anna’s school. When he got confirmed as a Supreme Rank wizard in Ormunda, one requirement was that said wizard needed to be part of an academy, and because he underwent the confirmation under the flag of Anna’s Magic Academy, he was officially part of that school.
When Anton visited one of the towers, he was flabbergasted to learn those details. Basically, he went to one of the towers that specialized in Arrays and attempted to join the organization since he thought membership was loose anyways, so he would not be tied down by the tower, but when the wizard examined his identity through his token, he was told that he was already part of a magic academy in Ormunda, which was considered a tower.
Basically, the interesting new thing he learned was the same thing they had in Ormunda. It was just that the name was different. He was a little down when he learned that.
Anton decided to start roaming the streets of Enundia instead, but since everything was buried in snow, there was nothing to see. After just a couple of hours of roaming around, he sadly decided to stop his exploration of the north. He thought that it would be best to stay in Ormunda to rest for a bit and think about what he would do next. Maybe he should concentrate on his system for a month before deciding on what to do next. Besides, to safely roam around the world, it would be best for him to have more strength, and the only thing that could give him that was his Diablo System.
He also decided that once he was back in the manor, he would start a small project of turning a small area into a garden that was permanently in the autumn season. He loved that season most of all. When he was back on Earth, he felt that the Fall season was the season of magic.
While Anton was experimenting with arrays, he would make sure to level up all of his ladder characters, and once the ladder season ended, he could then focus on learning more about the newly added game, which was Diablo Immortal. Unfortunately, for the new game, it was overshadowed by the newly released Warlock character, and if he was being honest, after the initial excitement he felt towards the mobile game, his interest started to wane. Still, he could not deny the fact that the new game still gave him a lot of power. The stats provided by the stats of the character itself and its gears that were reflected in his body in the real world increased his strength tremendously.
Still, Anton had to admit he still liked Diablo II more. He suddenly wondered how Diablo III and Diablo IV would fare against Diablo II? He had been a Diablo game fan for the longest time and would have liked to try out Diablo III and IV, but sadly, he didn’t have a computer powerful enough for those games.
If he had a more powerful computer, he would have played a lot more games like the Bethesda games and more. They looked so fun when he watched some playthroughs.
