My Gluttony System: I Devour God-Tier Talents-Chapter 27: Convergence
"Ahhhh"
The voice emanated as crimson eyes slowly opened, they blinked slightly as the fuzziness waned but the confusion remained.
The ceiling they saw looked quite unfamiliar but the feeling of safety was evident.
Kyrie tried getting off the bed. His muscles still stiff, his thighs still burning as his attention quickly shifted there but even as he tried to look.
His body begged him to stay still as if it might fall apart if he moved anymore.
Kyrie’s eyes wandered around as light entered them from the gas lamps that were around the room forcing his slits to squint.
The room around him was sparse and clean. With minimal furniture — it was definitely another of Negan’s safehouse’s.
The last one they had been at was where he almost lost his life to Rudolf and the other Psion.
That building was gone now, consumed by flames Negan had set before they fled. It was a smart move.
The marshals would investigate the shootings but find nothing but burnt rubble and charred bodies.
They would eventually move on. No evidence of more happening there or at least nothing that traces back to them.
The aftermath was nothing that couldn’t be answered with the tag of "gang violence."
Just another fire in the catalogue of Strevus crimes.
Kyrie tried moving his legs closer to the edge of the bed to get a good feel of his body.
He thought he would have been well recovered by now just like after the chase.
Maybe his injuries may have been more gruesome than he remembered and his ability to even think or try moving now was a result of the system’s passive recovery whenever he slept.
Slowly but surely, his legs were on the edge of the bed as he gritted his teeth still in pain.
He noticed the bandages on his thighs and another around his head.
The door opened as Negan stepped inside, dressed in his usual immaculate suit despite the early hour.
His hair caught the light as his sideburns twinkled while he moved with those sharp blue eyes assessing Kyrie with quiet concern.
"You’re awake," Negan said softly. "Good. How do you feel?"
"Like I got hit by a train," Kyrie muttered.
"Indeed." Negan moved closer to him, a cup of tea in hand as he continued.
"You pushed yourself to the absolute limit. Your body needed the rest."
He glanced at Negan as he remembered something.
" What about the other guy?" He was talking about Rudolf.
"Probably still alive. Left him a message for Saul " Negan smirked.
"Get cleaned up—"Negan’s tone changed again, more fatherly.
"---Then rest. You deserve that much for not dying"
He moved to the door then half-turned.
" I will come check on you later "
Twenty minutes later, he was showered and well dressed in clean clothes left out for him.
Kyrie sat on the edge of the bed. His body felt better though his thighs still stung like crazy but his mind was still processing everything.
And then it happened.
A familiar feeling prickled at his consciousness—the distinctive feeling that preceded System notifications.
Kyrie kept his neutral face with his breathing steadied.
Soon several texts appeared before his eyes.

The notifications stayed in his vision, still pulsating.
Kyrie remained completely still on the bed processing what the system dished out.
A healing skill. An upgrade to his menace skill which was now named Omen. If only he could name this skills himself.
He thought.
He also got about twenty attribute points. This was the system’s equivalent of Happy Christmas.
But amidst all this goodies was the that cryptic statement of him being some kind of avatar.
It wasn’t really him but this body. But this body was who he was at this point.
His mind raced with all sorts of questions, but his expression didn’t change and his demeanour was still calm.
Nobody could know about the System. Not Negan. Not anyone.
Atleast not until he really understands what it’s all about if he ever could.
He focused inwardly as he determined how he wanted the attributes shared.
+4 Strength (10→ 14)
+3 Intelligence (15 → 18)
+6 Agility ( 14→ 20)
+3 Fortitude (11 → 14)
+4 Dexterity (10→ 14)
After the last fight, he was certain he didn’t need any more intelligence for now.
Though It was his wits that kept him alive, he kept an after thought that if he were any stronger then it wouldn’t have gone so far that he almost died.
I guess those novelkiss protagonist dumping everything on strength wasn’t such a big idea after all.
The changes didn’t take long before taking effect.— he felt a rush within his body as everything felt sharper.
His mind. His reflexes. He was definitely stronger now. Faster and capable.
After the adjustments, he placed his hand on the bullet wound on his thigh as he muttered.
> Heal
Suddenly his own energy pool churned as a blue film of energy appeared on his leg.
With his keener senses, he could feel as his fibres threaded into one another and the wound sealed.
The negative effects that came with it dissolving away as well.
The wound in his head that probed also disappeared as well.
He smirked.
" Where have you been all my life "
Once healed, he looked at his health and it was restored immediately as he felt better as well.
He wasn’t done with the system yet as it seemed to have finally opened up more to him.
He wanted to see if it could answer more questions and see what his archive held after that near death experience.
He was about probing the system when his head swelled. It felt like two tsunamis crashing into one another and he was caught in the middle.
He had just healed himself so where was this coming from.
He calmed himself and in his mind, he noticed that it was his thoughts as Brett Lenhart warring with Kyrie Shaw’s memories.
It was quite unsettling as the realization hit him suddenly.
He’d been fighting against it this whole time. Fighting the memories, the relationships, the reality of who and what he was now.
He’d been so focused on maintaining his sense of self while fixing himself into Kyrie’s life.
He was actually forcing himself into this life. The last few days proved it.
He was getting to meet new people, entering different situations but not as brett but as Kyrie.
Who was Kyrie ??.
This division, the internal conflict, it was weakening him, sabotaging his progress.
He couldn’t be two people. He could fake it, a persona but even that would be convoluted if he didn’t know he really was.
There was no way he could survive like this , let alone thrive.
The Architect had convinced him, used his primal instinct of survival to place his soul in this body.
And until he accepted that he wasn’t just Brett in Kyrie’s body then he might never reach his full potential.
I need to stop pretending He murmured even as the fragments in his mindscape solidified.
Each piece coming together.
He was Kyrie Shaw.
The memories, the skills, the relationships—they were his now.
There were truly his., no longer borrowed, not temporary . Just His.
I am Kyrie Shaw, he thought, the words sinking into his soul and body like a key turning a lock.
The moment the fragment completely pieced as one, something shifted inside him.
It wasn’t physical, but mental, emotional, it just clicked.
He wasn’t wearing this life like a costume anymore.
This was his life now.
