My Harem of Dangerous and Crazy Women as a Reincarnated Necromancer-Chapter 29: The Cockroach, the Armor, and The Shameless Demon
The massive chamber doors finished swinging open to reveal Ely — but she wasn’t alone. Behind her, following close, were creatures. Monsters, to be more precise.
Mark felt his eyes widen as he watched them enter one by one.
’Wait... that’s it? Only three?’
He had expected more.
But Ely had only brought three.
The first one he noticed was... what appeared to be a cockroach man. It was humanoid, but its body was covered by a dark brown exoskeleton. Its build was lean, almost skeletal, with long segmented limbs.
Its head was distinctly insectoid — compound eyes that gleamed, and mandibles that clicked occasionally.
Two long antennae swayed at the top of its head.
’This one gives me the creeps.’
The second was a suit of armor.
But not just any armor.
It was a full set of plate armor, broad in the torso and arms, clearly built for a warrior.
Except it had no head.
The helmet was entirely absent, leaving only a void where the neck should have been.
The armor moved on its own, walking with heavy, deliberate steps, a faint blue light emanating from the gaps between the plates.
’A possessed suit of armor... a classic dungeon monster.’
And the third...
Mark’s gaze stopped on the third creature.
She was a demon.
At least, that’s what she appeared to be. She had long ears and ram-like horns that curved from the sides of her head — jet black, contrasting sharply with her white hair.
Her skin was a deep crimson red, covered with irregular black patches in a patterned design.
She wore several golden accessories — on her ears, fingers, and wrists.
Around her neck she had a collar with a pentagram pendant resting against her chest, and her outfit was quite simple: a one-piece beige dress that reached mid-thigh.
Mark found her attractive.
Very attractive.
Her figure was curvaceous, with wide hips and an average chest. Her eyes were golden, and she had a long, slender tail that swayed lazily behind her.
Mark caught himself staring.
’Stop.’
He quickly reminded himself that both Ely and Aria were present.
If they noticed him staring at the demon woman, they would not be pleased. Not even a little.
’Focus... act like a proper dungeon lord. Do not stare at the attractive demon.’
"Kneel before your new Grand Master," Ely commanded, her voice resonating through the chamber.
Immediately, all three monsters dropped to one knee, bowing their heads.
Ely and Yuki — who had reappeared from the shadows — also knelt.
Even Aria, standing beside the throne, gracefully lowered herself onto one knee.
Mark sat up straighter on his throne, trying to look authoritative.
’Alright... time to act like a proper lord of death. Or dungeon master. Whatever.’
"Master," Ely said, her voice respectful and formal. "Here are the dungeon’s subordinates. These three are the only high-level intelligent creatures in the dungeon."
"Rise," Mark said, trying to sound commanding.
Everyone rose in unison.
Mark gestured for Ely to approach, then did the same for Yuki.
Ely moved to his left side, standing beside the throne. Yuki appeared behind him, her presence barely perceptible but reassuring. Aria remained to his right.
’Good. Now I look like a proper villain. Sitting on a dark throne with three beautiful women around me and monsters kneeling before me. This is... actually pretty cool.’
But then reality hit.
’Wait. How am I supposed to act in front of these monsters? What am I supposed to say?’
Before Mark could figure out what to say, the cockroach man spoke.
"My name is Greg, and I apologize for not coming immediately when you became the dungeon’s master, my Lord," he said, his voice rough and clicking, like plates grinding against each other.
Mark blinked at the unusual sound of his voice, but quickly composed himself.
"No need," Mark said, keeping his tone calm and authoritative. "I brought you here because I wanted to meet you... so there’s no need to apologize."
The cockroach man tilted his head slightly in acknowledgment.
Then the headless armor stepped forward and gave a bow.
’I suppose it’s also apologizing. Or just being respectful. Hard to tell.’
And then the demon woman spoke.
Her voice was playful, lively, and unmistakably flirtatious.
"And I’m Cali!" the demon girl said brightly, then looked him over very carefully.
"Master, honestly I wasn’t expecting you to be so cute~" she purred, her golden eyes sparkling with mischief. "Wouldn’t you like to fill me with your seed?"
Mark froze.
’Uh. WHAT?’
Mark’s brain short-circuited for a moment.
’Did she just seriously ask me to—’
Before he could even process what had just happened, Ely’s voice sliced through the air like a whip.
"SPEAK TO THE MASTER WITH MORE RESPECT, YOU SHAMELESS HARLOT!" Ely roared, her face flushing red with fury.
Aria followed immediately, her voice dripping venom.
"You brazen little tramp! You’re lucky the Master is gracious enough that he’ll probably overlook your impudence!"
Cali only smiled innocently, clearly enjoying the reaction she had provoked.
Mark, meanwhile, was trying very hard not to laugh.
’I mean... if she’s asking like that, I honestly don’t have a problem with it. But if I say that out loud, the girls will get even angrier. So... best to keep acting like a proper sovereign.’
Mark cleared his throat, forcing himself to maintain his composure.
"The reason I called you here," Mark said, his voice firm and authoritative, "is that, as you’ll see, the dungeon is about to be restructured — and I need you to carry out certain instructions I’ll be giving you. Among them are explicit orders that both you and your subordinates continue to refrain from leaving the dungeon."
The cockroach man nodded immediately.
"You don’t even need to ask that, my Lord," he said. "We have no interest in the outside world."
The demon woman nodded in agreement, followed by the headless armor, which raised a thumb in what Mark assumed was approval.
Mark raised an eyebrow, curious.
"May I ask why you have no interest in leaving?"
The cockroach man was again the first to respond.
"There is nothing out there for us, my Lord. The adventurers who come here are more than enough. I am a scavenger — I feed on the corpses they leave behind... so I have no need to go out."
The headless armor said nothing, but knocked on its breastplate twice, as if in agreement.
The demon woman stretched lazily, her tail swaying.
"I prefer to stay in my room, reading books and journals that adventurers bring in," she said with a shrug. "I’ve never had a reason to cause trouble outside."
Mark blinked.
’Huh. So they’re basically homebodies. Monsters who just... stay in the dungeon and mind their own business. That’s... surprisingly convenient.’
"Then let’s keep it that way," Mark said.
Mark leaned forward slightly, resting his arms on the armrests of the throne.
"But from now on, you’ll be under the direct supervision of Ely, Aria, and Yuki," he said, gesturing to the three women around him.
"You will obey them as you would obey me. I’ll give my orders to them, and they’ll pass those orders on to you... understood?"
All three monsters nodded.
"Yes, my Lord," said the cockroach man.
The headless armor gave another bow. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
While Cali smiled and gave a playful little salute.
"If everything is clear," Mark said, "you may go."
The three monsters rose and began walking toward the exit. But just before Cali stepped through the door, she turned her head toward Mark and winked — then disappeared through the doorway, the door closing behind her with a heavy thud.
Mark stared at the closed door for a moment.
’...Cali is going to be a problem, isn’t she?’
