My Harem Will Help Me Get My Revenge-Chapter 77: [ - - 69] - The Jealous Lover
Chapter 77: [Chapter - 69] - The Jealous Lover
Chapter - 69
Lucius lay on the cold pavement, his body twitching every few seconds from the aftershocks of the electric surge through his body.
The sharp electric surge that had ripped through his nerves was gone now, but its aftershocks still pulsed inside him.
His muscles refused to listen to him. His fingers were stiff, frozen and his limbs felt like they had been tied to a bag of stone.
His whole body was paralysed, and not even his tongue moved in his mouth. He wanted to scream. He wanted to curse. But not even a squeak would come out of his mouth.
Inside his head though, he was cursing non-stop.
"You lunatic bastard system! You fucking toasted me!"
"How can you do this to me? I thought you would just ’numb’ the nerves!"
"I am your master, you fucking idiot."
[Ooooh, the mortal master is mad. I love it! Should I add a tiny spark to help you ’reboot’? Just a flicker, maybe?]
"I swear to God! if I ever grow strong enough to rip you out of my soul, I will grind you into a stupid mixer, and turn you into dust!"
[Such violent promises. I feel like blushing. Wait... I don’t have cheeks. Oh well!]
Lucius would have fucking punched the system if he could. But while lying flat on the cold pavement, the only thing that moved were his eyeballs.
"Well... Well... Well... Look at that. We are looking for you everywhere, and you are lying here, taking a drunk nap."
A voice interrupted Lucius’s thoughts. Hearing the voice, Lucius tried to look to his side and something entered his field of vision.
A round meatball. A pair of thick legs in white pants. A wide belly pressed against a stretched, white shirt over which he had donned a white coat.
And a thick gold chain hung around his neck.
"No way... Now he is after me? And I can’t even move right now."
It was Rauf that stood just a few feet away, scratching his chin as he looked down at Lucius with a mix of confusion and amusement.
"What the hell are you doing down there, bro?" Rauf asked, raising an eyebrow, "Trying out pavement yoga or what?"
Lucius didn’t respond, more like he could not.
Rauf waited a few seconds, then tilted his head, "Oi. I am talking to you. You deaf? Or you just being dramatic?"
But he still got no reply.
[Maybe pretend to be dead. They say A bear does not attack the dead. This fat ass might just leave you alone]
Lucius wanted to scream "Shut up!" but only a weak grunt came out of his throat.
Rauf sighed, "You asked me to get you grilled lamp next time. Not that I did, you are acting all coy with me." He then turned to the group of men standing behind him.
There were about 9 of them, all bulky, wearing the same smug expression of street confidence. He waved his hand lazily.
"Pick him up. It is bad manners to leave trash lying around."
Four of them stepped forward without hesitation. Two grabbed his arms and the other two grabbed his legs.
Lucius could feel his body swinging in the air like a sack of grain, but he couldn’t resist. The wind brushed past his face as they moved toward a line of dark SUVs parked by the sidewalk.
Then—THUD!
They tossed him inside the trunk like a discarded mattress.
His head smacked the inside wall, his ribs pressing painfully against the hard steel. The trunk slammed shut, and darkness swallowed him.
[Mmm. Trunk rides. So cozy. How so predictable. You are getting kidnaped, master.]
"This is starting to become a habit..." Lucius thought grimly, groaning silently in his head.
The ride was bumpy. With every speed breaker, his body bounced, his head slammed against the metal and his arms twisted awkwardly.
With every bump, Lucius could not stop himself from cursing the System even more.
Then came a sharp stop.
CRACK!
Lucius’s face smacked hard against the front end of the trunk. Pain exploded across his nose and forehead.
"Guh—!"
For the first time, a noise actually came out of his throat.
"Open it," That was Rauf’s voice.
And a moment later, the trunk lid flew open, and blinding light flooded in. Lucius blinked rapidly, barely able to make out shapes. Two men grabbed him again and yanked him out without ceremony.
He landed face-first on the warehouse floor. The ground was cold concrete. The air smelled of dust and old oil. Lucius groaned, barely managing to shift his head sideways.
Slowly, his fingers twitched. Then his arm jerked weakly. He was starting to regain control. But it was still not enough.
Lucius blinked continuously, trying to adjust to the light.
In front of him was a large warehouse space. Boxes stacked high. Metal shelves lined the walls. And at the center, sitting like a king on a red-cushioned chair, was Rauf.
Legs spread. Elbows resting on the armrests. A smug smile on his round face.
"Welcome, brother," Rauf said with a chuckle, "Glad you could join us. A bit late, but it’s okay. We kept the chair warm for you."
But then he looked around, as if trying to find a chair and then shook his head, "Actually... nah, just lie there. Suits you better."
Lucius groaned and tried to push himself up on his elbows, but his muscles still trembled from the shock.
Rauf leaned forward slightly, eyes narrowing with amusement.
"You know," he began, "I didn’t even know your name until tonight. But the moment I saw you holding her hand... standing next to her like she belonged to you... I knew I hated you."
"We were not enemies... But you... You made me your enemy. Possibly your worst enemy.’
"Elena," Rauf said softly, almost lovingly, "That woman... that angel."
He leaned back again and let out a slow breath, like he was recalling a divine memory.
"I first saw her at that charity party two years ago. You know the one... The white ballroom, the hanging crystal lights, the cheap wine, the boring speeches. I hated being there. But then... She walked in."
Rauf’s tone changed. It became almost dreamy.
"I can still remember that silver dress that she wore. Her hair was tied up. And that smile... Oh God, that smile. It was like moonlight on a lake. And those eyes? Sharp, confident."
"Then she turned towards me. She looked at me with those eyes and smiled. I was scum... and she still chose to smile at me anyway."
He chuckled softly, shaking his head.
"I have been obsessed ever since. Asked around. Found out everything about her. Her work, her routine, the kind of tea she likes. All of it."
"I tried to win her over with compliments, with gifts, and with riches. But nothing managed to sway her. But I started to like her more because of that. What’s the use if it is too easy?"
"But then you... you showed up tonight. Out of nowhere. And she smiled at you like that?"
His eyes darkened, "That was your mistake. A very big mistake."
Lucius stared at him, finally able to push his upper body off the ground. His head still spun, but the fog in his mind was lifting.
Rauf’s voice grew colder, "You put your hand on something that doesn’t belong to you. And now... you are going to pay."
And with that, Rauf stood up from the chair slowly, the poor chair creaking under his weight. He walked forward, his black leather shoes clicking against the warehouse floor.
The men around the room grew silent as he stopped just a few feet in front of Lucius, who was still lying on his stomach, breathing with difficulty.
"Do you know what happens," he said slowly, "to men who touch things that belong to me?"
Lucius didn’t answer. He simply stared at Rauf with a blank expression on his face.
Rauf smiled. But it was not a warm smile. It was the smile of a man who was about to toy with the man in front of him.
"On our way here, I have had time to think," Rauf whispered, "Time to plan. I didn’t want to just kill you, no. That would be too easy. Too kind."
He looked at Lucius, took a deep breath, and spread his arms as if welcoming an audience.
"See, Lucius... I am going to break you. Not just your bones... But your soul as well."
He started pacing, his voice growing louder, more animated.
"First, I am going to hang you upside down. Tie your ankles with wire. Not rope... But with those barbed wire. Sharp enough to slice your skin if you struggle too much."
He stopped and looked at one of his men, nodding. The man brought over a dirty, blood-stained bag. Rauf grabbed it and dumped its contents in front of Lucius, inches away from his face..
Knives. Hooks. Tongs. Rusted metal tools. A blowtorch.
Lucius tried not to flinch. But the System’s voice whispered in his mind.
[Oh. We have a collection here. Very creative. I give him points for effort.]
Rauf bent down with great difficulty and picked up a curved blade with jagged teeth.
"This," he said, holding it up proudly, but his breath was getting heavy, "is a skin saw. Do you know what it does? You don’t just cut with it. You peel. Inch by inch. Like stripping bark from a tree."
"Your screams will echo in here long before I am done with one arm."
He tossed it back on the ground and picked up a set of metal tongs.
"And this... this is for your fingernails. I will take one every hour. Not all at once. One at a time."
"I will also heat them first. Let them glow red. It makes the removal... easier, for me of course."
Lucius slowly clenched his hands, trying to regain more strength in his fingers.
But Rauf wasn’t done.
"After that... we will play with electricity.
"Wires in your mouth. Clamps on your tongue. And then I will just turn the switch ON."
"Ever heard a man scream without lips?"
He grinned at Lucius, then leaned closer again.
"I will keep you alive for days. You will beg for death. You will cry for it. And when you have forgotten your own name... I will whisper her name in your ear. I will make you remember why it all began."
There was silence in the room. Everyone stared at Rauf, either impressed or disturbed, Rauf chuckled darkly and began again, raising his hand with a dramatic gesture.
"So, the first thing I will..."
But Lucius cut him off, clearly sounding bored, "God... you are already torturing me to death with your voice."
Rauf paused. Blinked. Surprised.
Lucius slowly raised his head. His smirk was weak, but crooked.
"Can you please speed things up?" he said, voice low and raspy, "I need to get back home. After killing the bunch of you."
