Chapter 169: ShineOn’s New Move

Nine, who was outside, also saw that Joshua’s mission had been completed. He almost immediately frowned, his gaze shooting toward Henry—who was quietly straightening the blankets on one side—like a speeding bullet.

Henry felt that stare and looked back, his expression unreadable. His eyes were as cold as always, though undeniably upright and distant.

Upright? Nine almost wanted to laugh. Henry had kissed Joshua, yet no one here even knew when he managed to do it.

Truly ridiculous...

With only the two of them left in the room, Nine spoke directly, "Put those thoughts of yours away. Joshua needs to focus on building his career."

Henry met Nine’s gaze without emotion. "I think you’re the one who should restrain yourself. Besides, Joshua and I have belonged to each other for a very long time."

It was like an arrow shot straight into his chest. Nine’s stare toward Henry darkened sharply.

"If we are one soul, then one day I will devour you."

Leaving that threat behind, Nine turned and walked out of the room.

Henry frowned, his expression heavy.

At that moment, the bathroom door opened and Joshua stepped out, still carrying a faint trace of steam.

Seeing that someone was still in the room—and worse, that it was Henry—Joshua froze on the spot, his face going blank.

Thinking back on everything, it was embarrassing, but not unbearable. He forced a smile at Henry and said, "Leader, what is it? Did you forget something in the room?"

"You."

"Huh?" Joshua blinked, confused.

Henry looked at him and shook his head before suddenly saying, "Joshua, Nine is someone who tends to be overly negative, so don’t trust him too much."

Joshua paused at that, then asked, "Did Nine do something to you?"

Henry’s face showed nothing. Very few people could read his thoughts. But Joshua simply concluded, "So Nine actually did do something."

Henry stayed silent. Then Joshua asked, "So what did the two of you say to each other?"

Henry stayed silent. Facing Joshua’s gaze, he felt as though something was squeezing tightly around his heart, leaving him breathless.

Before he could say anything, Joshua spoke first. "Right now... are you the Henry of this place, or the Henry I knew?"

Henry’s breath caught. Just as he was about to answer, the door swung open. Nine bounced in, ready to drag Joshua back to the castle—only to freeze when he saw the two of them standing face-to-face. A sudden sense of unease washed over him, and he instinctively wanted to retreat.

But at that moment, Joshua said, "Henry, go outside. I can talk better with Nine."

Nine went quiet, shooting Henry a sharp glare. But Henry only looked at Joshua, as if Joshua were the only person who existed in his eyes.

"Joshua, I’m just Henry. Right now, I don’t remember anything." Henry said at last.

Joshua nodded, then abruptly asked, "Do you love me?"

"Joshua!" Nine suddenly shouted. He hadn’t come here to witness Henry and Joshua confessing to each other.

Henry looked at Joshua and, with almost no hesitation, replied, "Yes. I love you, Joshua."

More than anything else. From the very first time he saw him, Henry knew there would only ever be room for Joshua in his heart.

Joshua looked at him, then smiled—a warm, sunlit smile. "That’s good enough."

Then he stepped forward and gently pushed Henry toward the door. "Don’t mind Nine. I’ll take care of him."

Henry turned, trying to say one last thing. "Then Joshua... do you love me?"

Joshua smiled but didn’t answer. The next thing Henry saw was the door closing in his face.

A beat later, Luther’s mocking voice rose beside him. "Ha! What’s wrong? Finally realized how heartless Joshua can be?"

Henry glanced at Luther but said nothing.

Inside the room, Joshua faced Nine with a frown. "What did you do to Henry? Or what did you say to him?"

Seeing Joshua’s serious expression, Nine felt a hint of unease—but even more than that, resentment and anger.

Why was Joshua looking at him like that? Just because of Henry?

"I wanted to kill him," Nine said bluntly.

Joshua frowned, his gaze turning noticeably colder.

Being looked at like that by Joshua made Nine’s throat taste bitter.

As expected, in Joshua’s heart, there was only Henry.

So Joshua, how will you feel... when you learn the truth?

In the end, Nine still didn’t mention anything about him and Henry possibly sharing a soul. He only said, "I stopped because I thought of you! Joshua, stop looking at Henry all the time. What’s so great about the past? It’s the future we should be moving toward!"

"Yes. My future is becoming a superstar, not dating."

Joshua’s words halted Nine in his tracks.

Joshua looked at him. "Nine, you’re a system, yet you have less sense of responsibility than I do."

After a brief pause, he added. When Joshua wasn’t smiling, his eyes looked crystal clear and cold—like they could see through everything. "If you’re hiding anything from me, you’d better make sure you can hide it forever."

With that, he turned and left the room.

Nine stared at the door as it closed, his hands clenching into fists. Damn it. This was all Henry’s fault!

Outside, the moment Luther saw Joshua appear, he immediately lunged forward and wrapped him in a tight hug.

Joshua pushed him away a little. "You reek of alcohol. How are you still here instead of showering?"

He glanced around and realized everyone else was still there too. He couldn’t help but laugh. "Seriously? You all plan on leaving only after breakfast?"

No one answered. Joshua didn’t bother with them. He handed the key to Henry. "Just make sure to lock up when you leave."

Then he walked out first.

Everyone looked stunned. Their gazes all shifted to the key in Henry’s hand.

Leonard couldn’t help saying, "Joshua, with a level of vigilance like that, if someone tied you up in the middle of the night, you wouldn’t even fight back."

Joshua pouted. "You guys wouldn’t dare do anything to me anyway."

He waved casually. "I’m going ahead."

As he said it, his gaze remained fixed on Henry. Memories—some happy, some strange—flashed through his mind. Joshua quickly lowered his eyes, hiding his thoughts. Behind him, Nine hurried after Joshua, chattering nonstop as if he were completely back to normal.

The room that had been lively just moments ago fell into an unnaturally heavy silence.

Luther crossed his arms, frowning. "It feels like Joshua’s been avoiding something all morning."

The others stayed silent.

After Christmas, their vacation was nearing its end. The final days of the year passed quickly, and ShineOn had to start preparing for new content.

And of course, they couldn’t ignore Joshua’s birthday—January ninth!

Online, fans had already started planning projects since November and December. LED birthday displays were ready to go up, and naturally, what fans awaited even more was ShineOn’s comeback and Joshua’s birthday livestream!

ShineOn: [Lock!]

Right then, ShineOn’s official account suddenly posted—with only a single caption.

The lone image showed a floating gun, surrounded by distorted, shattered space. Gray, ruined, ominous.

Just one post—

and the fans immediately exploded!
