My Life In A Fantasy, Women-Dominated World-Chapter 108: Hiding and Buffs
"Since my dear boyfriend is with us for the first time, I want to leave a good impression. Got it, girls?"
"Stop flexing, tsk." Jaq grumbled with a click of her tongue, irritation dripping from her tone.
Rest of her teammates also offered some irritated and yet confident retorts, as they didn’t doubt for a second that they would lose.
Slowly and steadily, the group of 6 advanced in the minotaur’s direction, using the broken buildings and the rubble to their advantage as they hid from the monster’s line of sight.
As the distance decreased, the 5 meter giant appeared even bigger.
For Aaron it was like seeing a titan from a famous anime in real life, and even worse, this titan didn’t just eat but can also smash you into a bloody paste!
And if that wasn’t enough, the minotaur wasn’t that mentally retarded that he would move in those funny ways.
This race was birthed by the universe for murder and war, and it was ingrained in their brains quite deeply.
It is widely known that a minotaur can forget everything but not its battle instincts.
When sufficiently close, Claire raised a hand and closed it into a fist, gesturing for everyone to stay quiet.
The formation was as such, with Claire and Katie taking the front, Lia and Jaq having the middle range and lastly, Eva and Aaron at the back since they were the squishiest of the bunch.
Even with his huge buffs from magic, Aaron would still get flattened like a pancake if the minotaur got a whiff of him.
As for Eva, being a purely magic focused human such as himself, most of her physical stats came only for the levels and the automated mana circulation.
"Aaron, can you cast your skill from here?" Claire asked in a very low voice, looking at the maddened bull that kept ramming the wood into a broken house.
There was more than 20 meters of gap separating the group from the bull, but Aaron didn’t lose hope.
His eyes focused at the minotaur, mana surging within him as he wordlessly tried to channel it in the way to activate the Reverse Senses.
A connection was built in an instant and even though not knowing how, Aaron understood one thing.
"Yes." he turned to look at Claire, nodding calmly.
His words surprised the entire group, all of them staring at him with open mouths speechlessly.
Such a long range for a skill?! It wasn’t unheard off, but it wasn’t common either. Not for a man, definitely.
Only a select few raiders had access to skills with such a long range.
"Good." Claire nodded, not showing much of her surprise on her face.
They had given it a test with Eva in the room so she did know that his range is scaleable based on magic, but she didn’t expect that it would grow so fast.
"Eva, armor and buffs, after which take Aaron and retreat. Lia, start to bombard him with your skills the moment his senses lock onto us. Katie and Jaq, you both already know what to do." Claire barked the orders to her entire group, before looking at Aaron and smirking:
"For you, just retreat with Eva once she casts the buffs and armor on us. While retreating, use your skill at him."
Aaron looked at her for a few moments but only finding a pair of confident eyes staring back at him, he scoffed lightly and nodded.
How can he even begin to doubt this woman?
Respecting Claire’s position as the team leader, Eva instantly began to intone several magic spells as she used them on her teammates, though mainly on Claire and Katie.
Jaq also received a couple buffs but no armor, since she was more of a middle ranged physical type dealer unlike the frontliners Claire and Katie.
As for Lia, she didn’t receive any buff from the busty black haired beauty. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
A large amount of magic surged instantly when the buffs were activated.
A thin mana armor appeared around Claire making her glow in a gentle gold colour, which seemed to really suit her shimmering blonde hair and the dangerous looks.
But it wasn’t all positive as even the retarded monstrous minotaur wasn’t stupid enough to ignore such a large amount of mana that surged out of Eva.
In an instant their cover was blown and the monster stopped ramming his tree into the building, turning his bull-like head towards the group of 6, reddish smoke huffing out of his nostrils.
From closer, Aaron could see a metallic nose ring looping around his nostrils, the huge muscles flexing and the core shaped into abs so perfect that he felt jealous.
A leathery skirt was draped around the waist, more for the aesthetics rather than protection as for the minotaurs their natural hide was their greatest defense.
When his eyes fell on the small, less than 2 meter tall rag tag bunch of humans, they became blinded in rage.
More smoke huffed out of the nostrils, his hooves slamming into the ground to create a better grip as he leaned forward towards the group.
"Aaron, skill!" Eva shouted, taking his arm and retreating away from her teammates.
Aaron didn’t need to be reminded twice as the moment he saw the monster noticing them, he activated his skill without a delay.
Unlike Eva, his mana surged invisibly, forming a very thin strand of invisible mana as it began to elongate in the air, rushing towards his target; the minotaur.
None of them noticed a thing except for Aaron as he felt a connection form between himself and the monster, while the sensations in his own body began to get lower and lower.
It felt so numb that he mused he wouldn’t even feel pain if he was stabbed right then and there.
It was a nasty debuff, but it could be very useful at times where Aaron needed to ignore his own pain and senses and gain a perfect control over his body.
But of course, not feeling the pain didn’t mean that the wounds didn’t exist.
He would still die from an attack to his vitals, even if the attack didn’t cause him any pain.
Regardless, Aaron ignored the lack of sensation of his body as he shouted:
"He’s under my skill! You have 30 seconds!"
