"Ladies and Gentlemen, we have thr finale of the Round 2 coming up!" The announcer roared.
Everyone was shocked to hear this. Their cheers were greater now than before. Rex knew whatever was coming was not going to be pleasant.
He waited to see who would come out. No one had come out for several minutes. This bugged him too much. That was until the door opened.
Out of it came a terrifying beast. Rex was unsure of what it was until the cloth was removed.
"A mutant dog. One of the few rare beasts in the Nine Realms. It was extremely lucky to not have been killed already when I had found it in the Fourth Realm in the wars." Rex spoke.
Even like this, Rex knew that the beast was dead. He had to put it down himself before a tournament and it crushed his Soul.
Now that he is here seeing it again. He wanted to let it know his true feelings.
"Bastion, I know you were hurting when I found you. I did the best I could to protect you all the way up to the moment of your death. I am afraid that I will never again find someone so lovable, joyous, and remind me of Earth like you.
All the times we slept together on the couch, we're favorable moments that I do not wish to forget. All the happy tail wagging from just getting a piece of meat. Even to the time you wanted to just run outside because it was rainy.
All of these moments, I will not forget. Sometimes I even dream of those days. Now, here we are. Similar to your death and one of the most heartbreaking moments I ever had." Rex told Bastion.
The mutant dog just stood there awaiting for the tournament to start. Rex walked over and hugged the dog. The dog having forgot how to love felt that this was love in Rex's arms.
A barrier broke around the dog. Peace seemed to enter Rex's Soul as the dog vanished.
"I will forever miss you, Bastion." Rex thought.
Even with the emotions all boiling over. Rex stayed on top. He had to make sure that whoever was next in line was going to be defeated.
The crowd was unpleased with the way the match ended before their eyes. They wanted blood and now they could not get it.
"That was the finale. We are sorry for your loss. We will enjoy the next step in Rex's journey. Which is him getting his Heavenly Soul Qi." The collective of Rex's spoke.
Rex too felt that this one was too easy. When he honestly thought about it. It was extremely good that this one was so easy.
As the crowds disappeared. A surge of Soul Qi entered Rex, and he began to cultivate. The amount of Qi was not a lot but Rex knew better than that to fight against or speak for little of it.
As he cultivated, a M$ symbol appeared on his left hand. He tried to call upon the Soul Qi. It was still too little to do so. He woke up from his cultivation.
"Mortal Soul Qi." Rex spoke.
A light covered his body. It was not much nor was it too heavy. It felt different than normal Qi. It was too different for him to know what it truly was.
"Congratulations. You have achieved Mortal Soul Qi. Now unlike normal Qi, this one has a symbol on your hand." The trainer spoke.
Rex looked at his hands. Sure enough on his left hand, a M$ symbol was there. He showed it to the trainer.
"Weird. I have never seen a symbol like that before. My guess is probably the same as yours currently. It is the symbol of your Mortal Soul Qi." The trainer spoke.
As the duo began to understand what this means. Deathholder's son was also advancing in his pretty solidly.
It would not be until Rex chose to sleep that Deathholder's son would ask about his progress. When he did, he found out that it was truly a great progress.
He honestly knew the way to enter his Soul Qi. That path was something that he did not want to do. While he felt that this was wrong, he decided to allow the winds to guide him better.
He walked out of that training room. He entered the Sixteenth training room. He had already asked for this authority. He was granted it.
"Hey, Lilith. There is something special that we need to talk about." Deathholder's son told her.
Once she was within his arms reach, a barrier was produced so that the duo would be undisturbed while talking.
