My Notoriety Spreads Throughout the World-Chapter 481 - 415: Invasion!
Angelina raised her gun to pursue, but Yan Ze stopped her at this moment, shaking his head.
Looking around, the cats of the King Race all bore more or less wounds, supporting each other with their bodies.
"If we continue the pursuit, their bodies won't be able to withstand it."
"What does that have to do with me?" Angelina frowned. "If they can't keep up, they should stay here, don't get in my way."
Yan Ze was speechless, shook his head, and stepped aside.
Watching the girl disappear alone at the border of the barrier, the petite cat appeared behind him, sniffing.
"This guy really doesn't appreciate it."
"Hasn't anyone told you how troublesome it is to get along with her?"
"Is it really okay to let her pursue the 'Kingdom's Watcher' alone? She's not that guy's match, is she?"
"Cats don't like arrogant people." The girl pouted.
"Perhaps, she's just in pursuit of a," Yan Ze said emotionlessly, "grand self-destruction."
...
Inside the barrier, a red-haired girl squatted idly in front of the desk, which was really just an old rotten wooden stump.
Chichu Chun held a block in her hand, humming the tune of a birthday song, carefully placing the block on the built block tower, watching intently. Her 'cake tower' was taking shape, just needing a few more blocks to be complete.
How pitiful, on some people's birthdays, those who love them are willing to light up all the nuclear bombs in the wasteland world for their celebration, while others can only curl up in the stinky sewers, guarding the home for the heartless You.
Chichu Chun thought so.
Damn it, she was so angry, she finally mustered the courage hoping the other side could accompany her for a birthday.
And the result?
That guy didn't even bother to finish listening to the children's song she'd sung several times!
Chichu Chun rested her face with a frown.
Clearly, as the young master of Chichu Heaven, her birthdays were always lonely, hiding alone in a messy room, sitting on the bed listening to music and playing games, when feeling down, it's always raining outside. As for her, she could only hug her teddy bear, with no birthday cake, and the teddy bear couldn't sing her a birthday song, opening the Line list, only to find no one to confide in.
Her last birthday memory stayed many years ago.
Recalling sitting around the table with her brother, looking at a cake taller than them, and the light in their eyes, Chichu Chun chuckled softly.
Clearly, in Chichu Heaven, everything to her was within easy reach.
If she wanted, there would be many people queuing up eagerly in the leaf store to celebrate her birthday, she could sing loudly all night amidst the feasting, have a cake taller than a building, and could name people to accompany her in doing crazy things.
But she never did that, and on the few occasions when she was interested, her excitement was capped like a timid mushroom encountering a ghost zombie. She really couldn't accept... such a pathetic herself.
Deep in her heart lies a proud nine-year-old girl.
Well, the people at Zhutai High School were right, she had a bit of a princess syndrome, hoping no matter what trouble she caused, there would always be someone to cover for her, hoping there was someone willing to truly give everything, forgiving her no matter what she did wrong.
She just couldn't persuade herself to indulge in false emotions.
Moreover, only a fool would be deceived by promises that can be bought for a few bucks, she's so young and beautiful, why should she spend money for someone to accompany her on her birthday, wouldn't that mean others get all the benefits?
What she wanted was warmth that she could truly hold in her hands. Whether family or friendship, even if that ray of light was far away from her, to have a strand belonging to her...
"Vice President!"
"Wow!" Chichu Chun was startled, her hands shook, and the block cake tower she had built fell to the ground with a clatter.
To cover her panic, she quickly kicked the blocks everywhere and coughed twice to compose herself.
"What is it?"
"The 'Era of the Dead' people just ambushed us and have already breached the stronghold!"
"Era of the Dead?" Chichu Chun didn't understand.
Light Chasing Garden had no enmity with that guild, so why would they attack?
"They also have people from the Necropolis with them, using artifacts to disrupt our communication, we've been unable to contact you, Vice President. Quickly prepare to organize a defense."
"Right, right, organize a defense." Chichu Chun hurriedly started walking towards the door, and as she passed by the person, she quickly slit his throat with a dagger.
"Ugh!!"
The man was shocked, clutching his bleeding throat, his face turning white as he fell to the ground, his gaze towards the girl full of disbelief.
In the blink of an eye, that person lost all vitality, his disguise fell away, revealing the black skeleton uniform beneath.
Even in death, he couldn't comprehend how the previously careless girl recognized him.
Chichu Chun wiped the dagger's bloodstains, coldly laughed.
She had never seen any member of Light Chasing Garden willing to address her as Vice President.
Moreover, she remembered the aura characteristics of every member of Light Chasing Garden clearly, such poor disguises couldn't escape her eyes.
Chichu Chun tried to contact Xu Xiaoyou on the front lines, and as expected, the message couldn't be sent; communication had been severed.
Opening the map, only chaos remained, and all functions capable of discerning the situation were more or less affected.
Chichu Chun didn't yet know the location or current situation of the Red Glow team. But she was sure the invaders had likely infiltrated the prison for some time.
The enemy's stealth was impeccable. She had an agreement with the Red Glow team members to contact her every five minutes to report, but no anomalies had occurred, indicating they had likely already infiltrated internally, killing and disguising themselves as their people on a large scale.
Communications had been cut in the five-minute interval since the last contact, could the enemy have basically controlled the entire stronghold, conducting a large-scale slaughter of their people?
Chichu Chun grimaced, hastily walking out the door, two anxious-faced Red Glow team members approached her.
Before one could even greet her, the girl suddenly erupted, her dagger plunging into the man's neck, blood splattering across Chichu Chun's face.
"Rice Wine, what are you!?"
The other was terrified, watching as the person slid down the wall leaving a trail of blood, their disguise vanishing.
Realizing something, he quickly raised his hands, eager to prove himself, only to find Chichu Chun ignored him, merely crouching down, checking the body and retrieving a communicator from the waist pouch.
"Be cautious of those around you, these people have disguising capabilities." Chichu Chun warned.
"We must find our team members and meet up with them as soon as possible..."
"Vice President, watch out!" The person suddenly noticed something amiss, shouting as he pushed Chichu Chun away, the girl's pupils trembled, as she saw the air ripple and a man's silhouette appear, muffling the young man's mouth and twisting his neck.
Chichu Chun suddenly felt a strong sense of crisis, retreating quickly, only to see dozens of 'Red Glow' members emerge from the air, their uniforms slowly fading to black skeletons, encircling her heavily. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
Clad in a black and white Gothic dress and wearing skull earrings, a girl licked the blood from her blade, narrowing her cross-shaped pupils, and taunted:
"As the squad leader, really incompetent, all your members nearly wiped out without you even noticing, how could the Dark Gold Rose assign someone like you to guard the base?"
Facing Chichu Chun's astonished gaze, the cool, delicate-faced girl politely smiled, slightly lifting her Gothic skirt and elegantly curtsying.
"Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Vlad II, the president of the Era of the Dead guild."
"My younger brother Edward was in your care not long ago. To sincerely repay you, I personally brought people to visit today. Hope you've been well~"
