My OP Minion System in the Apocalypse-Chapter 214 Zombie Defence
I had witnessed many zombies in this desolate world, but these were some of the most formidable I had ever encountered. As the archers launched another attack, an arrow lodged itself into the skull of a zombie, causing it to crumble to the ground. The other zombies continued their relentless march towards the city, despite being riddled with arrows. The archers launched several more attacks, finally bringing the zombies to their knees. It took six to seven attacks from the archers to finally put the zombies down for good. The situation was dire.
I dispatched a group of minions to finish off the remaining zombies. These undead creatures were still crawling towards the city, with some showing signs of life despite having arrows lodged in their heads. The group of minions quickly put an end to their suffering. I was deeply concerned about the strength of these zombies, as they had proven to be much more formidable than usual. I couldn't help but wonder if this was the reason why five of my minions had died the day before.
It was clear that the zombies had grown stronger and more resilient. It used to be a relatively simple task to take them down, but now it took several skilled archers to bring them down. These archers were some of the most experienced and skilled I had at my disposal, and the damage of the arrows had also been increased. Yet, the zombies were able to withstand seven attacks before finally being defeated. The situation was dire and I couldn't shake the feeling of unease as I thought about my founding groups and settlements in the forest.
As I considered the settlements, I realized that it was important to check on the status of the founding groups. I opened the menu and examined the status of my settlements. They were in the process of creating small areas with houses and barracks serving as outposts. Settlement E was lagging behind the others and I had already sent aid. The other settlements were progressing well and were constructing their settlements efficiently. I reviewed the design of the settlement, noting that it was shaped like my old city but with a smaller wall. The builder minions were still working on the settlements, so I made adjustments to the design and increased the size and strength of the wall. The recent zombie attack had left me feeling anxious, so I also alerted the combat minions in my city. The moat was a top priority and I wanted it completed as soon as possible. f𝑟e𝒆𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗oѵ𝐞𝗹.c૦𝑚
I was worried that the zombies might attack again, and if they did it would be even worse at night. They had already proven themselves to be a formidable force during the day, so it was easy to imagine the destruction they could wreak at night. I had to take action to strengthen my army and improve our protection methods against these zombies.
Now, my focus turned to the moat and the city wall. I opened the crafting menu to review the design of the wall. I realized that I had deleted the old design in favour of creating a new one. So, I began designing the wall for my city.
My first thought was to make the wall exceptionally high, even if it meant using more resources, particularly stones. I planned to make it twice the height of the old wall. At first, I considered building two walls, but it seemed like a waste of resources. Instead, I decided to create a single, sturdy wall. I would also create small holes at chest height along the bottom of the wall. These holes were meant to be used to fight off enemies that managed to cross the moat and approach the wall. There was only a one-foot distance between the moat and the wall, which would make it difficult for enemies to fight against the spears in the wall if they were able to cross the moat.
The spears, carefully crafted from the strongest steel, were firmly embedded in the wall, their sharp points jutting out menacingly on the other side. The spears only extended a foot beyond the wall, making it nearly impossible for zombies to reach the safety of the city.
The wall itself was a formidable structure, made entirely of heavy stones that had been meticulously placed to form a solid barrier. There were no gaps or openings within the wall, except for the carefully positioned holes that housed the spears. These deadly weapons were placed all around the perimeter of the city, providing a constant defence against the relentless horde of zombies that seemed to never stop walking. f𝚛e𝗲𝔀e𝚋𝑛o𝘃𝒆𝗹.c𝗼𝒎
As I stood there, admiring my handiwork, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment. The wall was a masterpiece of engineering, designed to keep the city safe from the ravenous undead. And with the spears in place, I knew that we were as prepared as we could be to face whatever dangers lay ahead.
However, uncomfortably, I felt as if the zombies were significantly stronger than they used to be.
As I continued to work on the design of the wall and moat, I couldn't shake the feeling of unease. The recent zombie attack had been unexpected and much more difficult to deal with than usual. The zombies seemed to be growing stronger and more resilient, and it had taken a significant effort to bring them down. I knew that I needed to take further action to strengthen my army and protect my settlements from future attacks.
I reviewed the design of the wall, making sure that it was sturdy and well-defended. The moat would be a key part of our defence, making it difficult for the zombies to get close to the city. I also made sure to include small holes along the bottom of the wall, which could be used to fight off any enemies that managed to cross the moat. The spears, carefully crafted from steel, would be a formidable obstacle for the zombies, making it nearly impossible for them to reach the safety of the city.
