My Perfect Revenge: Flash Marriage With My Vampire Tycoon-Chapter 129: – Human –
Caterina meaningfully stared at him. She sighed, crossing her arms. "Fine. When you do find her, make sure she’s in the same vicinity as you and your lover. Use the red strings of fate—"
"Red strings of fate?"
"—Yes. Use it and go ahead and mark her." She tapped her neck where her pulse was pounding. "That is the only way to break a mate bond with the other party. And when you do it, the heavens will form a new bond between you and your lover, changing the initial fate and making her your mate."
Nikolas frowned. "Where am I supposed to find the red strings of fate? I’ve only ever heard of it, never seen it in the hundred and seventy five years of my life."
"More than half of your life which you spent shut in a coffin, asleep in a deep coma? Yeah, sure." Caterina rolled her eyes. "Know that if you change fate like I’ve just told you, this human, let’s say she were to die before you, if you wait around again, she will eventually exist again, and yes, she will be your mate. Instead of another. But this is only if you use the red strings of fate. If not, this mate you don’t want, will continue to follow after you in every cycle of your life, just like you’ll keep existing in hers."
Nikolas buried his face in his palm, seeming exhausted. "This is troublesome."
Caterina laughed.
"The things we do for love. Oh, how hard it is to love a human. Tsk tsk tsk." She clicked her tongue. "Is it really worth it?"
"Shut up!" He glared at her.
That only made her grin tauntily at him. "My sweet sweet Nikolas. It’s such a delight seeing you in such a stressed state." Her voice was dazzled with pleasure. "You better start looking for that red string and your mate. You’re running out of time."
Nikolas shot her a withering look. "Running out of time? What do you mean by that?"
"Yes."
Caterina.
"Didn’t I tell you? I may not be one who can see deep into the future, but a few steps ahead? Yes, I can. And I am telling you, it’s bloody. Very bloody. Nothing can kill us, but the sun is our weakness. It can kill us, meaning you are not exactly immortal. Now, I am not sure who’s blood it is. Could be your lover’s blood, but it could also be yours. Be careful, sweetie."
She rose to her feet and with a smug look on her face, she walked to the door to leave. But paused. She glanced at him. "I mean it though, Nikolas. Be careful. You’re a friend I’ve known for the longest in my life. And I don’t want to lose you. That is why I am helping you in any way I can. You’re one of the strongest vampires that exist now, but you are not invisible. Not even your mother is."

Tasso stood, staring at Nikolas’s company. Finding him at his penthouse would have been so much better, but the security men were pretty annoying. He didn’t live at that building and he could have just broken a hand or two. But...
"That would only just attract unnecessary trouble." He clicked his tongue, seemingly at leisure.
His frame was upright where he stood at the roof of the building opposite Bratva, face soft and golden under the bright light setting sun. His eyes flickered with a splendor as he took a deep breath, fishing his gloves out of the pocket of his suit.
He wore them, and with just a step taken off the roof, he flew off over to the Bratva. He hung in the air, tilting his head as he tried to figure out how to get into this building.
"From my calculation, this bastard should still be at work. And he better be." Irritation flickered in his eyes as he averted his gaze from the expensive golden watch strapped around his wrist.
It was closing time, yes, and while some employees have all properly headed home, Nikolas was bound to still be in the building. At least he knew he was always the last to leave.
Finding one of the larger windows that were left open, he smoothly slipped inside, glancing around to recognize he was in a hallway. He settled his feet on the floor, dusting the part of him that had touched the window.
"Now, where are you?" He began to stroll down the hallways, darting his clueless gazes around, searching for Nikolas.
"Oh, crap, I’m going to be late at this point! Why am I even the last person leaving? So unfair!"
A woman’s voice grabbed his attention and he averted his gaze ahead of him, only for him to widen his eyes, because the woman he’d just laid eyes on, had tripped herself, staggering and shoving him along.
They both fell with a heavy thud, the back of his head knocking against the marble floor, while she luckily landed above him.
Tasso grunted a bit, his eyes left shut as he gritted his teeth, letting the pain at the back of his head settle slowly.
He blinked his eyes open eventually, his pupils shrinking at the woman whose face was far too close to his. But that wasn’t even the worst part. She was boring her gaze into him as if she’d never seen anything like him before.
Her throat worked in a thick swallow. He saw it, diverting his gaze to her blonde wavy hair that fell all over her face from the floor. He met her rather deep blue eyes, then glanced at the hand she had pressed down on either side of his head.
’Human’ His nose twitched. ’Why isn’t she getting off me?’
The woman, Sabrina was gazing at him as if she were in some sort of trance. Her breathing had gone heavy as if she’d forgotten how to breathe, and Tasso lifted a brow at her.
"Pretty, do you intend to sit on me and stare at my face all day?" He smirked, amused. "Not really opposed to it, but I don’t really like people touching me. Mind getting off?"
